Philleo Aaron witnessed all of them.
He followed all the orders of the head priest, Gabriel Brown, but nothing happened. He had sent cakes and milk to Penelope Askary and her children using Edmund Gerwyn’s name. Philleo had also been watching them and saw with his own two eyes that the cake and milk had been eaten and drunk by Penelope and the twins. However, Penelope and the twins still look healthy and full of enthusiasm. "That bastard!" Philleo growled. His hands were clenched tightly at his sides when he saw how Ethan Askary was lying on the asphalt with his eyes closed and his left chest badly injured. There was a dagger that pierced his good friend’s left chest and Philleo heard that the person who did that cruel thing to Ethan was Sebastian De Louis. "I will kill him for daring to kill my friend!"
So far, Philleo has never seen Ethan again. The man had already considered him an enemy when he kidnapped Penelope and almost made the woman lose the twins she was still carrying at that time. Philleo was angry because Ethan didn’t give Penelope to him or support his feelings for that man’s little sister. He also fought with Ethan and said several times that he wanted to kill him. However, Philleo never had the intention to actually take Ethan’s life. After all, Ethan and his family have been very helpful to him. Therefore, when he saw Ethan not moving and not breathing, Philleo was furious. He vowed to teach Sebastian De Louis a lesson. Philleo didn’t care if that man was the Crown Prince of this empire. To hell with all that!
Then, something Philleo didn’t expect happened. Philleo did know about Penelope’s healing and purifying powers. But, this was the first time he saw black power from that woman. Like black magic that was banned in the De Louis empire.
"Should I tell Gabriel Brown about this?" Philleo muttered. The man was in the square at the moment, thinking about all his failed plans and Penelope Askary’s strange powers. "But, if I say so, won’t Gabriel Brown report this to the Emperor? What if the Emperor decides to give Penelope the death penalty because she has black magic?"
At that moment, Philleo stopped in his tracks when he heard people screaming for help. The man, who always wore a black robe, turned his head around and wide-eyed when he saw several terrifying monsters and other strange creatures appearing around him. The people were crying and running around in panic. How could the ever-peaceful empire suddenly be visited by monsters?
"Help!"
Philleo gasped and turned his head in another direction. He froze when he saw a little girl fall and cry. The little girl has blue hair and wears gold clothes. A color that reminds Philleo of Penelope Askary. Without Philleo realizing it, he ran toward the girl, who was crying in fear, and immediately took out his sword. He put his magic into the sword, then cut the monster that was intending to attack the little girl. After that, Philleo immediately picked up the girl and took her to a safe place.
"Hey, are you okay?" Philleo asked in a worried tone. The man knelt in front of the little girl who was still crying. He held the shoulders of the child in front of him and wiped the tears from her face using his thumb. "Shh, calm down. You’re safe. I already killed the monster. It would never hurt you."
The little girl sobbed. "Uncle, I am separated from my older brother."
"Yes?" Philleo stared.
"We ran together to avoid those monsters. Then, I was pushed by the adults, who were running and separated from him," explained the little girl. He immediately held Philleo’s hands. "Uncle, please help me find my older brother. In this world, my older brother is all I have. I don’t have parents. My older brother and Richard, my older brother’s friend, are all I have."
The little girl’s words somehow reminded Philleo of Ethan and Penelope. The three of them were very close when they were little and also before Duke Edmund came into Penelope Askary’s life. Philleo took a breath and smiled. He wiped the little girl’s tears once more and nodded.
"Don’t worry, I will definitely find your older brother and that boy named Richard." Philleo stroked the cheek of the child in front of him. "What’s your name?"
"Sasha."
"Sasha, can you wait for Uncle over there?" Philleo points toward a building. People ran into the building guided by several knights. Philleo recognized the knights as Gerwyn family knights. It was the Gerwyn family crest on their uniforms that told Philleo. "You’re safe over there. Not a single monster will be able to get close to you. Those Uncles will protect you and those people."
Sasha nodded and immediately ran toward the building. The knights hurriedly led her into the building. Philleo stood up and put on his hood again.
"You?"
Philleo gasped and turned his head. He froze when he saw the woman he missed and loved so much standing right in front of him.
"What are you doing here?" asked Penelope Askary.
Philleo smiled and crossed his arms. Then, the man tilted his head and said, "Hi, Penelope. It’s been a long time since I saw you and you’re even more beautiful. Didn’t fate want to see the two of us together so fate brought us together?"

As expected, Penelope Askary appeared in the square.
The woman took a deep breath and tried to remain calm. The situation in the square was very chaotic. People ran, screaming for help, and crying. Several buildings were burned by the flames released by some monsters. Penelope can’t fight but she can heal injured people. Because of this, Penelope immediately ran to look for victims who needed her help.
"Help me!"
The scream made Penelope flinch and turn her head around. Her golden eyes widened and the woman ran toward the two boys at the end of the street. The boy, who had been screaming for help, was crying while pressing the wound on his friend’s temple so that more blood wouldn’t flow. His friend was lying on the lap of the boy who was screaming for help and was unconscious.
"Are you okay?" Penelope asked. The woman knelt in front of the two children. Her heart was beating very fast. Her tiny body began to tremble with fear and panic but Penelope tried to remain brave in front of these children. "What’s your name? Is this your brother?"
The boy who was crying shook his head. "No. He’s my good friend. My name is Richard and he is Seymour. We were trying to escape from the monster that suddenly appeared and got separated from Sasha, Seymour’s little sister."
Hearing that, Penelope froze.
"What?"
"Then, Seymour fell and injured his head. What should I do, Lady? I was afraid that Seymour would die. How can I tell Sasha later? Seymour is all Sasha has in this world because they are both orphans."
Penelope clenched her jaw and clenched her hands at her sides. All these monsters must be because of Goddess Oizys. Then, the pink light came out of her palm, making Seymour’s blood seem to flow back into the wound. After that, the wound disappeared. Richard, who saw this, widened his eyes. His mouth was wide open and he looked at Penelope with an amazed look.
"Lady! Thank you for saving Seymour!" The boy exclaimed. "Is Lady a Saintess?"
Penelope smiled and ruffled Richard’s hair. She stood up and called out to the knight who had just passed beside her.
"Duchess?!" The knight exclaimed in surprise. "What are you doing here? It’s very dangerous here, Duchess! The Duke might go berserk if the Duke finds out the Duchess is in a dangerous place like this!"
"The Duke already knows I’m here," Penelope said soothingly. "You, please take these two children to a safe place. Then, help this boy find his missing little sister. The little girl’s name is Sasha."
"Yes, Duchess!"
After successfully saving Seymour, Penelope decided to look for other victims, who needed her help. Then, she stopped walking when she saw a man she knew very well. The man, who had just put on his hood was now facing her. The man, who had dared to kidnap her, starve her, and almost kill her children. A man who is very obsessed with her.

"Nonsense!" Penelope turned her body around and intended to leave that place. She didn’t expect to meet Philleo in this place. "I don’t have time to argue with you. I have to look for the injured people and take them to safety."
At that time, Penelope did not notice the building collapsing nearby. Philleo, who heard a strange sound, immediately looked up. The silver-haired man froze. His purple eyes widened.
"PENELOPE, WATCH OUT!"
Penelope turned her head and wide-eyed when she saw Philleo hug her and immediately push her into the building next to them. Then, another building collapsed, blocking access for Penelope and Philleo to come out. Both of them coughed from the dust and swallowed hard when they realized they couldn’t get out of this place.
