The wind blew hard and seemed to surround Penelope Askary.

The black light made it look like she was inside a black hole. The beautiful woman was still smiling broadly. A very scary smile. Her golden eyes that had turned black shone sharply and coldly at Edmund, Helios, Sebastian, and everyone around her.

"Who wants to die first at my hands, gentlemen? Any volunteers?" Penelope challenged.

Edmund took a deep breath and looked at Penelope with a firm gaze. He started walking. He wouldn’t let everyone here get hurt and die because of his wife’s uncontrolled black magic. Even though he hated Sebastian to the point of wanting to kill him, Edmund didn’t want Penelope to do that.

"Oho?" Penelope laughed mockingly and clapped her hands. "Duke Edmund wants to experience my power apparently. You are truly a very brave man. Okay, I’ll give you some pleasant surprises that will make you scream in pain!" 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶

Edmund swallowed hard. "Penny, listen to me, Darling," said Edmund in a gentle tone. He tried to persuade his wife and at the same time wanted to make her return to normal. "You are being controlled by your own darkness. You’re angry because you think Ethan is dead. You’re angry because Ethan was hurt by someone else. I totally understand how you feel, Penny. I would also be very angry if anyone dared to hurt you or the twins."

Penelope was silent.

"But, this is not you. You have to fight that darkness. You are a good woman. You will not become the evil woman that Goddess Oizys wants you to be. Let me be the bad guy for you. I will hurt and kill everyone you hate or everyone who makes you suffer. It’s enough for me to get my hands dirty with blood."

The black light surrounding Penelope started to look strange. The black light seemed to be falling apart. Then, Penelope started to bend over and the woman squeezed her hair tightly. She closed her eyes and screamed.

"Penny!"

Edmund, who was surprised to see Penelope’s reaction, immediately ran toward the woman. His face, his arms, and several of his limbs were all injured from being hit by that extremely painful black light. But, the Duke didn’t care. He immediately hugged Penelope’s body and screamed like that woman. The black light surrounding them was like an electric shock. Edmund growled. He tried to open his eyes and look at his wife.

"Penny, I’m here," whispered Edmund in a soft tone. "I will protect you. Whatever you are, whatever you do, you will always be My Little Bunny that I love so much."

"Arrgh!" Penelope screamed even more. Tears started to drip down her beautiful face. She squeezed her hair harder. Her head hurt so much as if it would explode any minute. "Stop it! I want to go home!"

"Yes, we’re going home," nodded Edmund. The man was bleeding from his nose and mouth. He tightened his embrace around Penelope’s tiny body so that the woman no longer had to feel the pain caused by this black light. "Therefore, come back to me. Eliminate all the darkness in your heart. Let the light of Goddess Elleia enter your body and purify everything."

Suddenly, someone called Penelope. The woman still had her eyes closed and it was Edmund who turned his head around. He smiled when he saw Ethan Askary running together with Jeremy and Edgar.

"Penny!" Ethan didn’t care about all the wounds he got from coming into contact with the black light and immediately hugged Penelope like Edmund. The man hugged his little sister’s waist from behind and groaned softly. "Penny, it’s me. I’m fine. I’m not hurt. You can see it for yourself."

Slowly, Penelope opened her eyes and turned her head around. Ethan smiled at her. Reassuring smile. The man stroked Penelope’s head affectionately.

"Older brother...?"

"Yes, it’s me. See? I am alright. So, you can stop everything. Banish the darkness from your heart. Come back to me and Duke Edmund. Go back to Raven and Ocean who are waiting for you at home."

The black light finally disappeared, as did the wind that had been blowing hard. Then, Penelope’s body swayed forward toward Edmund, who immediately caught her body. Because Edmund continued to receive injuries from the black light, his body became weak. He was unable to hold Penelope’s body while swaying toward him. Finally, Edmund and Penelope fell onto the grass. The Duke’s back hit the grass while Penelope’s body was on top of him. Seeing that, Ethan and Helios widened their eyes and they immediately checked the condition of Edmund and Penelope.

"Duke, are you okay?" Helios asked in a worried tone.

"Penny! What about my little sister?!" Ethan exclaimed in panic. The man immediately lowered Penelope from on top of Edmund’s body and laid her on his lap. Penelope fainted. Her face was very pale and tears continued to flow down her beautiful face. Ethan immediately wiped the tears. "Penny, open your eyes, Honey. This is your older brother."

"Ethan," called Edmund. Helios helped him to sit up and the Duke groaned in pain. "We’d better go back to my mansion now. I’m worried about my children who are only being watched by Sarah and the other servants." The man stood up and took over Penelope’s body from Ethan. He carried his wife and took a deep breath. "Chris, Jellal!"

Edmund’s two shadow knights immediately appeared in front of Edmund and knelt before him.

"We’re going home now."

"Hey, Edmund!" shouted Sebastian De Louis. The man walked quickly toward the Duke. He pointed at Edmund’s face and glared at him. "Do you think I will let you go? Penelope Askary must remain here to be interrogated and punished for daring to harm a member of the imperial family!"

"Do you think we don’t know about your evil intentions, Sebastian?" Helios asked in a cold tone. "You’re saying that because you want the Duchess to stay close to you, right?"

"Shut up, Helios. Don’t interfere in my empire’s affairs!" Sebastian growled. "You’d better go home to your palace. Your Father and Mother must be looking for you!"

"My wife is innocent, Sebastian De Louis," said Edmund in a cold tone. "She’s like this because you killed Ethan Askary. Do you want me to report this to your Father? I can do it now. You want to punish my wife, don’t you? Fine. Let’s meet the Emperor and report everything. Also, here is Ethan Askary, the victim you killed. If it weren’t for my wife’s healing powers, Ethan would probably be dead."

Sebastian was silent. He clenched his fists at his sides. He couldn’t be careless. If his Father knew he killed Ethan Askary, his Father would definitely lock him up in the imperial prison. His Father was the strictest man and the fairest man in this empire. That’s why all the nobles really like him.

"Whatever!" Sebastian growled. He immediately left, making Edmund and Ethan stared at him sharply while Helios shook his head in disbelief.

Penelope opened her eyes and gasped.

She got up in one swift movement and tried to control her ragged breathing. The woman started crying and looked panicked. At that moment, she could feel her hand being gripped tightly by someone. Penelope turned her head around and the expression on her face looked very sad. Tears continued to stream down her face.

"Brother...," called Penelope in a low voice. The woman immediately jumped up and hugged Ethan’s neck tightly. "Brother, it must hurt a lot, right? Your heart must be stabbed with such a sharp dagger by that bastard Sebastian!"

Ethan blinked and the next second the man smiled. He hugged Penelope back and stroked her hair and back.

"I’m okay, Penny. You came to save me, didn’t you?"

"I will definitely kill him if I can’t save you, Brother," Penelope said in a firm tone.

Ethan took a deep breath and let go of his arms. He wiped the tears from Penelope’s face and cupped his little sister’s face.

"Penny, do you remember what happened?" asked Ethan in a serious tone.

"Hm?" Penelope nodded. "I was eating cake together with Sarah. Then, I received information that Brother was stabbed by Sebastian. I panicked, I was hysterical. I went straight to your place and healed you. Then, I was here."

"You... don’t remember anything after that?" Ethan asked to confirm.

"Did I... do something?" Penelope asked back.

"You... are controlled by the darkness, Penny. You use black magic. You destroyed the square and you... injured Duke Edmund."

Hearing that, Penelope gasped. The woman froze and was wide-eyed. She covered her mouth with both hands and shook her head frantically. The tears fell again. Fear began to take over her.

"I...did all of that?" Penelope asked. "Ed? How is my husband’s condition, Brother? Was he seriously injured? Did I... kill him? Did I kill the people in the square?" The woman held her head with both hands. "Impossible. I truly became the woman who destroyed this empire as desired by the Goddess Oizys. I will be killed by my own husband for destroying this empire and killing my children. I—"

"Sienna!"

The name Ethan said made Penelope freeze again. Her body was shaking violently. No one in this world knows that she is a modern woman named Sienna except for Edmund and Helios.

"Brother... how do you know that name...?" Penelope asked in a trembling voice. "I...."

"Calm down, Penny," Ethan said. The man smiled warmly and took a deep breath. He deliberately said Sienna’s name so that the woman in front of him would be surprised and not babble anymore.
