"Good afternoon, Father, Mother."

The Duke and Duchess Askary blinked when they saw their daughter enter the mansion pushing the twins’ baby cart. Sarah followed while carrying Penelope’s belongings as well as the twins’. The woman did not forget to greet the Duke and Duchess.

"Penny?" Duchess Askary hurried after her daughter and sat beside Penelope. Duchess Askary and her husband were shocked when a servant reported to them that a carriage with the Gerwyn family crest entered the courtyard of the Askary mansion. That’s why they went straight to the main door of the mansion and welcomed their daughter. The Duchess, who saw her daughter’s sullen face, immediately stroked her hair affectionately. "What is wrong, Honey? Why did you suddenly come without prior notice? Hmm?"

"Mother," Penelope whined. The woman immediately hugged Duchess Askary and hid her face in her Mother’s chest. "Ed is cheating, Mother. Ed was flirting with a maid last night."

Duke and Duchess Askary were wide-eyed. "WHAT?!"

"Lie!"

That exclamation made the Duke and Duchess turn their heads toward the entrance of the living room. They blinked as they saw Edmund Gerwyn trying to catch his ragged breaths. Sweat dripped down his handsome face. The man loosened a button on his collar so he could breathe. Edmund came into the living room and took a deep breath.

"Edmund? What happened to you? Why do you look so messy?" asked Duke Askary. He squeezed his son-in-law’s shoulder and looked at him worriedly. "Are you okay?" 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚

Edmund smiled and nodded. "I’m fine, Father." If it were inside the mansion and not in front of a crowd, Duke Askary and Edmund would indeed be speaking casually. "Rather than that, I’d like to say that everything my beloved wife said just now was a lie. I’ve never had an affair. My Little Bunny—I mean, Penny—was just misunderstanding."

Penelope snorted. "All men who are having an affair and have been caught red-handed will use all kinds of methods to cover up their affair."

Edmund sighed and knelt in front of Penelope. "My Little Bunny, look into my eyes."

"Do I look like a man who would cheat on you and betray you, Honey?" asked Edmund in a sad tone. "I really love you. I was even willing to not eat or sleep when you were unconscious at that time because I didn’t want to let you suffer alone."

"You’re seducing the maid," Penelope grumbled. She pouted even more. "Is it because her body is sexy and I’m not sexy anymore after giving birth?"

"Nothing can beat the sexiness of your body in this world, Penelope Askary," said Edmund in a firm tone. "In fact, you are the only woman in this empire who can successfully seduce a cold-blooded Duke like me."

"Edmund, what exactly is going on?" asked Duchess Askary in a confused tone. "Can you explain it to Mother?"

Taking a deep breath, Edmund explained to his Mother-in-law about all the oddities that were happening within Penelope. Duke and Duchess Askary listened seriously while Penelope was just silent and cuddling with her Mother. After Edmund’s explanation was finished, Duchess Askary cleared her throat and smiled at Penelope. She kissed Penelope’s forehead and caressed her daughter’s smooth cheek.

"Penny, are you pregnant?" asked Duchess Askary in a gentle tone. Hearing that, Duke Askary gasped and covered his mouth with both hands. The handsome man looks happy. His eyes sparkled like a child’s. He looked at Edmund, who shrugged his shoulders. Edmund did suspect that Penelope was pregnant with their second child but he still had doubts. Isn’t it impossible for Penelope to become pregnant with a second child when the twins are only a few months old?

"No," shook Penelope.

"Are you sure?" asked Duchess Askary to make sure. "Because, your attitude is very suspicious, Dear. You remind me of myself when I was pregnant with you."

Duke Askary nodded repeatedly while rubbing his chin. "Your Mother is right. In the past, when your Mother was pregnant with you, she was very annoying. Every day she would accuse me of things I never did. She will get angry, cry, then act spoiled. And, it continues like that."

Edmund snapped his fingers. "That’s what’s been happening to her lately, Father!"

"I. Am. Not. Pregnant!" Penelope grumbled. She got up from the couch and ran out of the room. "You all suck! I hate you guys!"

"Penny?!" Edmund hurriedly bowed before the Duke and Duchess Askary and asked permission to go after the woman. "Penny, where are you going? Come on, Honey. Don’t act like this all the time. I don’t know how to react. Instead of continuing to waste your energy sulking or getting angry at me, how about you seduce me some more and we’ll have amazing sex so you can get pregnant a second time?"

"YOU ARE REALLY A PERVERTED DUKE!" Penelope shouted. Edmund just laughed at that while Duke and Duchess Askary could only shake their heads and start playing with Raven and Ocean, who looked bored because they had to watch their parents’ drama.

Sarah was busy playing with the twins in the corner of the dining room and giving them milk. At the dining table, everyone had already gathered. They were just waiting for Ethan Askary to arrive, who they said would be a little late.

"Penny, what’s wrong with you?" asked Edmund when he noticed his wife’s pale face. Edmund held Penelope’s cold hand tightly.

The call stopped Penelope’s words. A maid entered the dining room carrying a large box before Duke and Duchess Askary. Penelope stared at the box with a sharp gaze.

"There is a delivery for the Duke and Duchess," said the maid in a polite tone. "But, there is no sender."

"Thank you, Leah," said Duchess Askary in a gentle tone. She untied the ribbon that bound the large box and opened it. "Hm? This is our favorite cake, Honey!" She shouted excitedly toward Duke Askary.

"Cake...?" Penelope muttered. She tried to dig into her memory. Her heart was pounding even more. Cake... cake... an incident related to cake in the original novel. The woman then froze and widened her eyes. After the real Penelope Askary died, someone delivered a cake to Duke and Duchess Askary and it contained a deadly poison! The Duke and Duchess Askary were critical for two weeks and eventually passed away. The cake was sent by the family of a Lady, who hates Penelope and wants revenge for what Penelope has done to her so far.

"Honey, how about we taste this cake while we wait for Ethan to arrive?" asked Duchess Askary. She took a piece of cake and took a bite. Then, the woman fed Duke Askary. "Hm? Isn’t it delicious?"

Penelope was even more wide-eyed and immediately stood up from the chair, slamming the table. She immediately threw away the box containing the cake and threw the cake in her Mother’s hand.

"Mother! Throw the cake in your mouth! Father too!" Penelope cried in a panicked tone. "Hurry! Don’t swallow it!"

Edmund, who saw Penelope’s reaction, rushed out of the dining room and immediately shouted for a doctor. Even though they didn’t understand, Duke and Duchess Askary immediately threw the cake that was in their mouth onto the plate.

"Father, Mother, did you swallow any cake?" Penelope asked. She turned her head when the dining room door opened and a doctor ran in along with another servant. Shortly after, Ethan’s figure appeared. Penelope’s older brother frowned in confusion at the current situation.

"What is this? Why do you guys look panicked?" Ethan asked. However, no one answered. Penelope returned to focus on her parents.

"Answer me!" Penelope shouted. The woman was already crying, making Edmund immediately approach her and try to calm her down.

The Duchess shook her head. "Nothing to swallow, Honey. You told us to throw away the cake in our mouths before we could swallow it."

"What’s the matter?" asked Duke Askary. "Why are you so panicked and even crying, Penny? Then, why did you tell us not to eat the cake and throw it away?"

"A cake?" Ethan Askary approached the cake on the floor and crouched down. He took the cake and smelled it. "There is no fishy smell."

"Poison."

"Yes?" Ethan blinked. "What did you say just now?"

"The cake is poisoned! A very deadly poison!" Penelope exclaimed. The information shocked everyone. They froze and wide-eyed. Penelope approached the doctor, who examined her parents. "How is it, Doctor? Are my Father and Mother all right?"

"Since they didn’t get to eat the cake, their lives are not in danger, Duchess Penelope," said the Doctor in a relieved tone. "You were lucky to find out the cake was poisonous and prevent Duke and Duchess Askary from eating it."

Penelope’s hands clenched tightly at her sides and she looked up at Edmund. The man nodded and told everyone to get out of the dining hall. Then, Penelope stretched out both her hands and pink light shot out from her palms. The pink light shot toward Duke and Duchess Askary’s bodies, causing both of them to be surprised when they saw this.

"Penny? What’s this....?" asked Duke Askary with a tone of amazement. "This pink light... isn’t this the light that priests with healing powers or purification powers always emit?"

"Penny has both powers, Father, Mother," said Edmund in a firm tone. "We will talk about it later."

"For now, I’m glad you guys are okay." Penelope dropped her hands and looked at Edmund and Ethan. "Ed, Brother, I want to find out who has the nerve to deliver poisoned cakes to Mother and Father."

"How?"

"I have a few names in my head," Penelope said sharply. As sharp as her eyes right now. "And, I want to meet the family heads of the three families."
