Chapter 132: #132-Yesterday You Seduced Me, Now You’re Scolding Me

Phillao Aaron is waiting for his order in one of the restaurants.

Even though many nobles had been staring at him curiously, Philleo didn’t care. Philleo didn’t really care about these nobles but he also had to be careful that none of them saw his face. After all, he is still a fugitive of the De Louis empire. If anyone saw him and reported him to Duke Edmund, then he could be caught. Goddess Oizys might help him but Philleo didn’t want to depend on her as much as he could.

"Sorry to keep you waiting," said a waitress, who came up to Philleo. The person smiled. "This is your order."

Philleo took the cake box and examined its contents. The man smiled mysteriously. All the cakes in this box are Penelope Askary’s favorite cakes. Philleo just has to write a message for Penelope and put it in this cake. To keep her from suspecting anything, Philleo would use Edmund Gerwyn’s name.

"Thank you," said Philleo. The man stood up from the chair and intended to leave, but the waitress, who had brought his order, stopped him.

"Wait," said the waitress in a doubtful tone. "I think I know you. Your face looks familiar. Have we met before?"

Philleo Aaron was silent. He glanced over and smiled at the waitress.

"No," answered Philleo. "I am new to this empire. Then, see you later."

After saying that, Philleo left the restaurant and entered an alley. He opened the hood of his black robe and snorted.

"Looks like a lot of people are starting to memorize my face," Philleo grumbled. He snapped his fingers and created a magic circle under his feet. The black light started to appear and surrounded Philleo. "I have to be even more careful in the future."

After that, Philleo Aaron disappeared from the venue.

"Have you still not been able to find a way to seduce Duke Edmund and separate him from Duchess Penelope?"

Elisha Brown looked down. Her hands clenched tightly above her thighs. She was in the imperial palace garden. Crown Prince Sebastian De Louis called her and invited her to drink tea together. However, Elisha knew that the Crown Prince wanted to discuss something very important with her. And, this is what the man wanted to talk about.

"I’m sorry, Your Highness," said Elisha Brown. "I’m still thinking about the right way to make Duke Edmund turn his heart away from Duchess Penelope." Elisha Brown raised her head and dared to look Sebastian De Louis in the eyes. "But, I promise that I will quickly make Duke Edmund fall in love with me. I will use any means, even if it means using black magic."

Sebastian raised an eyebrow. He tapped the table in front of him with his index finger.

"Black magic, you say?" Sebastian asked to confirm. "Is there a way to make Duke Edmund forget Duchess Penelope and leave her?"

Elisha Brown nodded. "Of course, there is. I can make him hallucinate that I am Duchess Penelope and make him see Duchess Penelope as me. That way, Duke Edmund will expel Duchess Penelope because he thinks the Duchess is a seductive woman named Elisha Brown. I can also brainwash Duke Edmund."

Sebastian De Louis grinned.

"Then, what are you waiting for? Why don’t you use that black magic on Duke Edmund, Elisha Brown?"

"Yes?" Elisha scratched her cheek. "Because I was afraid, Your Highness. Black magic is forbidden in the De Louis empire, isn’t it? And again, I can’t do it. The only ones who can do it are the witches. I do know a witch in this empire but I need to get permission from His Highness first to contact her and use her powers."

"I allow you," said Sebastian De Louis in a firm tone. "Whatever the method, I will allow it, Elisha Brown. As long as I can get Penelope Askary soon, I don’t mind using any sneaky methods."

Edmund Gerwyn was checking reports on his desk when Chris and Jellal suddenly appeared in front of him and immediately knelt before him.

The Duke only glanced briefly, then focused on the documents in his hands. However, he still divided his attention to his two shadow knights, who had just returned after carrying out the task he had given them.

"So?" asked Edmund in a firm tone. "What did you find out about Marquess Lysander?"

"Marquess Lysander destroyed all evidence regarding his cult that was in the basement, Your Grace," said Chris, starting his report. "But, last night Marquess Lysander kidnapped two children from the commoner area again. Those children have unique magic powers."

"Did the both of you manage to thwart it?"

"Yes, Your Grace," Jellal nodded. "Marquess Lysander hired a notorious guild to carry out all his plans. We managed to kill three people from the guild, who were given the task of kidnapping the children. We have also returned the children to their parents and told them to move to a safer place."

"Good." Edmund Gerwyn took a deep breath and massaged the bridge of his nose. "Then, what about Marquess Lysander?"

"That man was furious. He threw everything in his mansion and killed some of his servants. He also shouted for his knights to quickly bring Lady Isabella before him no matter what. Even if it means kidnapping Lady Isabella or harming her."

"That old man has lost his mind," Edmund Gerwyn stood up from his chair and clenched his jaw. "We still don’t have enough evidence to arrest him and bring him to the imperial court. He must also be plotting to kidnap Isabella Lysander. It’s just that he can’t act rashly knowing that Isabella Lysander is in the Abelavish imperial palace."

Suddenly, Edmund’s study door opened with a loud push. Edmund blinked and smiled at Penelope Askary. Chris and Jellal, who were still on their knees, bowed and greeted their Duchess. Penelope walked quickly, stood in front of Edmund, and immediately grabbed the Duke’s black hair. Seeing that, Chris and Jellal froze. Their mouths opened wide and they immediately looked down again because they didn’t dare to look at that.

"Penny?" Edmund grimaced in pain and cleared his throat. He let his Duchess grab at his hair as she pleased. "Why are you suddenly doing this to me?"

"You’re cheating, aren’t you?!" Penelope exclaimed.

"Yes?" Edmund blinked. "I don’t understand what you mean, Honey. Can you let go of my hair first? Calm down and let’s talk nicely."

"You betrayed me, Ed," Penelope began to cry. "I do not believe it. After all the love I gave you, after I let you touch my body every night until I couldn’t walk in the morning, you have the heart to seduce other women behind my back."

"Duke...?" Chris and Jellal both stared at Edmund in disbelief. There were pained expressions on the faces of the two shadow knights. "You...."

"No," Edmund growled. "What you two heard just now is completely untrue. Now, get out of this room. The Duchess and I—"

"Why?!" Penelope exclaimed. She added strength to her hand that was currently grabbing Edmund’s hair. "Why did you tell Chris and Jellal to get out of this room?! Would you be embarrassed if they found out what kind of man you are?! You already have a child, Duke Edmund! Am I not enough to be your wife?!"

This is very strange. Penelope Askary has been in a really weird mood lately. The woman will change every second like a chameleon.

"Duchess," called Edmund. The man still smiled. "Calm yourself. What’s wrong with you, hm? I’ve never cheated. Yesterday you seduced me and now you scold me. Tell me, Honey, what’s on your mind?"

Penelope snorted and let go of Edmund’s hair. Then, the woman started to cover her face with both hands. Penelope sobbed and cried again. This made Edmund panic and looked at Chris and Jellal. However, the two shadow knights didn’t know how to react. They could only look away while gulping.

"Penny, My Little Bunny, why are you crying?" asked Edmund in a panicked voice. He wiped the tears off Penelope’s face but his wife immediately jerked his hand away. "I never cheated, Honey. Why would I cheat if I have a very beautiful wife like you?"

"Liar," Penelope growled. "I saw you flirt with a maid last night, Edmund Gerwyn!"

"Huh?" Edmund tried to remember and he snapped his fingers. "Ah!"

"It’s true, isn’t it? You’re cheating!"

"No, no," Edmund shook his head frantically. "You misunderstood. I didn’t seduce the maid. I only helped her when she fell and accidentally broke the glass she was holding. I tried to calm her down because she was so scared."

Penelope looked down. She’s still crying. Penelope knew she had been acting strange lately. But, the woman also did not know what had happened to her. Sometimes, she wanted to seduce Edmund and always wanted to have sex with him. At times, Penelope was very annoyed and disgusted with Edmund Gerwyn. Watching him talk to other women besides her managed to make Penelope jealous and cry.

"I want to go home."

"Yes...?" Edmund was starting to get scared. "What do you mean, Honey? Where do you want to go home to? This is your home."

"I want to go back to my Mother and Father’s mansion!" Penelope shouted. The woman pushed Edmund and ran out of Edmund’s study. "Don’t follow me and don’t prevent me! I’ll take the twins back to my Mother and Father’s mansion!"

"What?" Edmund immediately ran after Penelope. "Honey, you can’t do something like that to me! Do you have the heart to leave me alone in this big mansion?"

"You have many maids who can accompany you!"

"How about tonight? Who should I sleep with if you’re not by my side? I can’t sleep alone, Penny. I’m afraid to sleep alone. I’ll be lonely!"

"You are the cruelest Duke in this empire. You can’t be afraid to sleep alone, Edmund Gerwyn!"

"My Little Bunny—"

"If you are afraid of loneliness, call Sir Edgar and make him sleep with you tonight!"

Edgar, who had just appeared carrying a loaf of bread in his hand, blinked when he accidentally locked eyes with Edmund Gerwyn, who was chasing Penelope Askary. Then, Penelope closed her bedroom door with a slam, making Edmund groan and point at Edgar, who looked confused while chewing his bread.

"It’s all because of you, Edgar!"

Edgar frowned.

"What did I do wrong?" He asked in a confused tone.

"Shut up or I’ll kill you!"

"Yes, Your Grace." Edgar swallowed his bread and bowed. "All of this is my fault."

Edmund snorted and immediately knocked on his bedroom door, trying to persuade Penelope. In his place, Edgar could only frown while eating his bread again.
