Ethan Askary ignored the greetings given by the people at Gerwyn’s mansion.

Ren, Edmund’s shadow knight, who always follows him to protect him from Philleo Aaron who is still a fugitive, tells the man that there is chaos in Gerwyn’s mansion. He reported everything he knew, which was reported by Jellal on Edmund’s orders. On the way from the Askary mansion to his brother-in-law’s mansion, Ethan never stopped cursing Sebastian De Louis in his heart.

With one swift motion, Ethan opened the door to his little sister’s room. There, Penelope was still unconscious on the bed. Then, Ethan could see Edmund with bandages around his neck and Isabella holding Raven. Sarah was still sobbing while holding Ocean, and Helios sat on one of the chairs while waving at Ethan, who was trying to catch his breath.

"How could this happen?" Ethan asked. He walked over to Isabella and kissed her on the forehead. Then, the man cupped Isabella’s face which looked awkward because they were seen by many people. "Isabel, are you okay? You weren’t hurt, were you?"

"I’m going to report you to my wife because you care more about other women than your own little sister," grumbled Edmund. Hearing that, Ethan turned his head around.

"I just want to confirm the condition of my woman, is it wrong? I’m sure Penny will be fine because you will protect her well. But, what’s wrong with your neck?"

Helios grinned. "He was strangled by Duchess Penelope."

Ethan blinked. His mouth was wide open. "What?"

"Your little sister strangled me," said Edmund in a firm tone. "Just like you at that time who was possessed by the darkness, she was also possessed by the darkness in her heart because Sebastian wanted to harm her and the twins. However, unlike you, Penny’s dark power is far greater. I do not know the reason. Maybe, it’s because she always meets Goddess Oizys that Goddess Oizys can control her more."

"She managed to take down two men at once, Prince Ethan," chuckled Helios. "Your little sister will make a very frightening foe."

"The question is, how did the Crown Prince get into your mansion, Duke Edmund?" Ethan asked. "Aren’t there many guards in your mansion?"

Edmund snorted. "He used the wizard in his palace to infiltrate. Besides, do you think all the guards in this mansion can restrain Sebastian if he wants to enter my mansion? He’s the Crown Prince in this empire. There is no one who dares to fight against him except for people who are cruel and cold-blooded like me."

Ethan raised an eyebrow. "So, you admit that you are cruel and cold-blooded, huh?"

"I’m pretty proud of that," Edmund shrugged. He glanced at Isabella, who was playing with Raven. The baby boy even looked happy to be in Isabella’s lap. "Ethan, I think your woman really wants a child."

"Hmm?" Ethan looked at Isabella. He smiled. "Don’t worry, I’ll give her a child soon. But, anyway, doesn’t Raven look so happy to be around Isabella? Hmm? Duke Edmund, why is Raven staring at me so intently as if he wants to kill me? How come that baby looks so much like you?" Ethan looked at Edmund and pointed at Raven. "Hey! Your baby boy is already being possessive just like you! Don’t tell me he doesn’t allow other men to get close to Isabel. She is mine!"

Edmund took a deep breath and massaged the bridge of his nose.

"Even Ocean chose Edgar over me, Ethan. I wouldn’t be surprised if Raven chose another woman over his own Mother."

Penelope Askary felt much better than before.

Two days have passed since the attack by Sebastian De Louis. Edmund did everything he could to protect his wife and children. Isabella has also returned to the Abelavish empire together with Helios. During these two days, Ethan accompanied Isabella to Helios’ palace.

"You want to go out for a walk?" asked Edmund in disbelief. "After you experienced those horrible things two days ago?"

Penelope chuckled and stroked Edmund’s arm. Currently, the woman was in the Duke’s study. She sat on Edmund’s lap and turned her body toward Edmund so she could stare at her husband’s handsome face to her heart’s content.

"I will bring Sir Edgar as well as Chris. Nothing will happen to me if I take them, right? I have something to buy, Ed. I will be fine and will be right back." When Penelope saw that Edmund was still scowling, the woman laughed and cupped the Duke’s face. "Come on, hmm? You’re not going to treat me like a prisoner, are you?"

Edmund took a deep breath and massaged his temples. "Okay, I will allow you to go."

"Yes!"

"But, only for a moment," said Edmund in a firm tone. "And, take Claude Sylvester with you."

Penelope blinked. "Claude? What for?"

"So he can protect you," replied Edmund. "He’s a great wizard, Penny. His magic power is on par with the owner of a magic tower. In fact, he was rumored to be the next owner of the magic tower. If anyone tries to hurt you on the street, Claude can protect you. I have to finish some of my work first. If I’m done and you’re not back, I’ll pick you up." Edmund kissed Penelope on the lips and stroked her hair. "Are you bringing Raven and Ocean?"

Penelope shook her head. "I feel they are safer in this mansion, Ed." The woman got off Edmund’s lap and waved. "I’ll be right back, Honey."

After Claude came after being picked up by Chris, Penelope finally went to the capital’s square. She wanted to find some food and drink sold on the side of the road. For some reason, she really wanted to eat that food. Especially skewers. She really wanted to eat chicken skewers. But, having searched all corners of the capital’s square, Penelope was unable to get the chicken skewer.

"Duchess," called Edgar. "What exactly do you want to buy? I can look it up for you and you can take a break at one of the restaurants here. If you are exhausted and end up falling sick, the Duke will definitely drown me in the river."

"I want chicken skewers."

Edgar, Chris, and Claude looked at each other and blinked. "Yes?"

"Chicken skewer," Penelope repeated. "Then, I also want cotton candy. I also want bread with meat and corn in it. I’ve been craving those three foods ever since I regained consciousness two days ago."

Edgar scratched his head and cleared his throat. "You really want to eat it?"

"Yes," Penelope nodded sadly. The woman looked down and began to sob. For some reason, Penelope wanted to cry so badly just thinking she couldn’t eat all that food. "I really want to eat them."

Seeing their Duchess starting to cry, Edgar, Chris, and Claude started to panic. The three men immediately approached Penelope and tried to calm the woman down. Why suddenly did their Duchess become like this?

"Duchess, calm down," said Edgar in a panicked tone. "Even if I have to overturn this empire, I will definitely get all the food you want! I swear on my family’s name and my honor, Duchess!"

Penelope nodded. Her demeanor was very much like that of a child. The woman then entered one of the restaurants and sat there. She ordered a drink, then turned her head around and stared into the distance. Over there, a man was selling balloons. There is also a clown dancing near the balloonist. Seeing that, Penelope smiled and rubbed her stomach.

"Stomach?"

"Hmm?" Edgar turned his head when he heard Claude mutter. "What did you say just now, Sir Claude?"

"I saw the Duchess rubbing her stomach," Claude said. He rubbed his chin and tilted his head. "Maybe, it’s just my feelings."

"Yes?" Chris approached Claude. "What is on your mind, Sir Claude?"

"What if the Duchess—"

"I didn’t expect that you guys were just gossiping here while my wife was looking sad and crying over there."

Those words made Edgar, Chris, and Claude freeze. The three men widened their eyes and turned their heads around. Ahead of them, Edmund Gerwyn stood with his head tilted and his arms crossed. The expression on his face was enough to tell the three men that the Duke desperately wanted to chop off their heads. Those blue eyes flashed cold and sharp, making Edgar, Chris, and Claude gulp and subconsciously take a step back.

"Du—Duke!" Edgar immediately knelt. "How come you are here?"

"Shouldn’t I be here?" Edmund asked back. "Oh, or do you want me not to come here so I don’t know about my Duchess crying?"

"No! It’s not like that, Duke!" shouted Chris frantically. He knelt too while Claude didn’t know how to react. The wizard could only lower his head, avoiding eye contact with Edmund. "We... didn’t make the Duchess cry. The Duchess was crying because she couldn’t find all the food she wanted."

Edmund raised an eyebrow. He glanced at Penelope, who was now supporting her chin with both hands. The woman looked very dispirited. Edmund had deliberately left all his work because he was worried about having to let Penelope go for a walk alone even though she was accompanied by three men, who were very strong in his opinion. Then, when he got here thanks to information from Jellal, Edmund saw Penelope looked sad and crying.

"Food?" asked Edmund to make sure.

"Ed!" Penelope shouted suddenly, making Edmund and everyone around him turn their heads. Edmund smiled and blinked as Penelope ran up to him while laughing and threw herself into Edmund’s arms.

"Penny, that is very dangerous," said Edmund in a firm tone. He let go of the hug and kissed the Duchess on the forehead. "What if you fall and get hurt?"

"I’m sure you’ll catch me," Penelope said. "Ed, I am so happy to see you here. Do you see that? Over there?" Penelope pointed at the balloons and the dancing clown. "I want to buy all of those balloons."

"For Raven and Ocean?"

"No," Penelope shook her head. The woman looked at Edmund with an innocent look. "For me."

Edmund blinked. "Yes?"

"The balloons are for me!" Penelope pouted. "And, I want you to be a clown like that man and dance in front of me and everyone else in the mansion."

"HUH?!"

"Don’t you want to do it?" Penelope asked in a sad tone. The woman looked down and sobbed. "You don’t love me anymore, Ed?"

"What? No, that’s not true, Penny." Edmund started to panic. He cupped Penelope’s face. Tears streamed down her pretty face. "Penny, why are you crying? I can’t possibly not love you. I love you very much and you know that, right?"

"But, you don’t want to be a clown for me." Penelope wiped the tears off her face. Her left hand then rubbed her flat stomach. Seeing Penelope’s movement, Edmund cleared his throat and gulped.

"Penny," Edmund called hesitantly. "Are you—"

"I’m going to the Abelavish empire."

Edmund’s mouth opened wide. "Yes?"

"I want to meet Crown Prince Helios!" Penelope exclaimed. "I’m sure, Crown Prince Helios will definitely do whatever I want. He likes me, not like you! You’re so annoying, Ed! I hate you! You don’t love me anymore!"
