Reincarnation of The Villainess: She Has The Duke's Baby!-Chapter 113: #-Long Time No See, Penelope Askary
"Did you think I’d be afraid of you, Penelope Askary?" growled Elisha Brown.
Hearing that, Penelope stood up. Her facial expression was flat, as well as the look in her eyes. Penelope stood and looked down. From the way she was looking at Elisha right now, Penelope looked like she was belittling and looking down on Elisha.
"I really have to kill this woman," growled Edmund. "I will destroy your family, Elisha Brown! You dare to insult my wife and now you are also challenging her! Do you think I will stay quiet?!"
Penelope was silent. At first, she just wanted to go after Edmund Gerwyn. Chris told her that Edmund was buying her favorite cakes at this cake shop. Since she also hadn’t continued studying magic with Claude Sylvester today either, Penelope decided to take a walk with the twins. Penelope did not expect that she would see her husband being seduced by another woman and also hear the wonderful words of this seductive woman. Penelope had also thought something like this would happen sooner or later.
"Tell me, Elisha Brown," Penelope said sharply. "Other than because you like my husband, who told you to seduce him?"
"What?" Elisha looked panicked on the spot. "What do you mean?"
Penelope snatched Edmund’s sword and pointed it at Elisha’s face. Elisha Brown froze. Her eyes widened.
"Who gave you the order to seduce my husband and destroy my marriage with Duke Edmund, Elisha Brown?" Penelope asked again. "Listen, I am a woman who has very little patience. If you don’t answer my question right this second, I will cut your beautiful hair using this sword!"
Elisha Brown forced a laugh. "You wouldn’t dare do it, Penelope Askary. There are many nobles here, who are looking at your actions! Do you want to ruin your own reputation?!"
Penelope shrugged. "My reputation has long been tarnished. So, what am I afraid of? Oh, or do you want me to prove it right now?"
Penelope raised the sword and then swung it. Seeing the sword pointed at her, Elisha Brown let out a scream. The woman closed her eyes and tried to protect her head and face with both hands.
"Penelope Askary!"
That exclamation made Elisha open her eyes and blink. She turned her head and smiled widely when she saw the Crown Prince running toward her and immediately helped her up. Behind the Crown Prince, several imperial knights followed the man and they pointed their swords at Penelope. Edmund immediately took his sword from Penelope’s hand, pulled Penelope behind his body to protect her, and looked at the knights with murderous eyes.
"What are you doing, Penelope? Why are you pointing your sword at Lady Elisha Brown?" asked Sebastian De Louis. The man looked at his knights. "And what did you guys do to Duchess Penelope? Lower your swords right now!"
Elisha Brown immediately took advantage of this opportunity. She gave Sebastian a sad look and pointed at Penelope.
"The Duchess accused me of having an affair with Duke Edmund, Your Highness," said the woman in a choked tone. "I didn’t do that. I was walking alone when Duke Edmund greeted me. We only chatted briefly and the Duchess was jealous. Then, the Duchess started throwing a tantrum."
Hearing that, Edmund snorted and intended to scold Elisha. However, Penelope held his hand and shook her head firmly. The woman smiled and allowed Elisha to continue saying this nonsense to Sebastian.
"Penelope," called the Crown Prince. He took a deep breath. It was as if Sebastian took pity on Penelope and shot Edmund an appraising glance. "Not all men are loyal, Penelope. Perhaps, Duke Edmund was in the mood to flirt with another woman. Maybe, Duke Edmund feels stressed because he has to take care of the children while he can never get close to the children around him."
"Shut your mouth, Sebastian De Louis!" shouted Edmund. "I’ve never done such a disgusting thing! For me, Penelope Askary is the only woman I love in this world!"
"Calm down, Ed. I’m not that stupid to believe the Crown Prince’s words. Besides, I told you I heard what Elisha Brown said and did to you firsthand." Penelope looked at the nobles, who didn’t want to interfere with this matter. Penelope knew they were afraid of the presence of Sebastian De Louis. But, Penelope’s golden eyes managed to find a figure she could use to her advantage. The woman remembered the figure. From the features, Penelope could tell she was a noble, who was neutral and impartial to the imperial family. Penelope knew this person was very fair. If she thinks what she sees and hears is wrong then she will say that it is wrong, and vice versa. Penelope smiled and approached the person. "Marchioness Charlotte?"
Charlotte Da Silva turned her head. This beautiful woman is fifty years old and has beautiful red hair with brown eyes. She smiled and then stood up from her chair. Even though she was much older than Penelope, because Penelope’s status was above her, Marchioness Charlotte lowered her head to greet Penelope.
"Greetings to Duchess Penelope Askary. May Elleia’s light always be with you." 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎
"So do you, Marchioness Charlotte." Penelope smiled and looked around. "How long has the Marchioness been in this place?"
"Long enough for an interesting show, Duchess."
Penelope tilted her head and grinned. "In that case, could the Marchioness testify to the Crown Prince regarding what happened?"
Marchioness Charlotte was a woman, who was never afraid of anything and anyone if she wasn’t at fault. Thus, Marchioness Charlotte approached the Crown Prince and bowed to greet him. Then, he looked at Elisha Brown and raised an eyebrow.
"I don’t know what this woman is planning but everything she has said about the Duke and Duchess Gerwyn is a mistake. It was this woman who came first to approach Duke Edmund and started flirting with him. Duke Edmund had even scolded her but she still did it. She even hugged Duke Edmund’s arm and made Duke Edmund push her." Marchioness Charlotte looked at the Crown Prince. "That is what I saw and heard, Your Highness. This old woman would never tell a lie."
While Sebastian clenched his jaw because he didn’t expect Marchioness Charlotte to be here, Penelope actually felt grateful because such a very fair character could be here to give her testimony. Now, Penelope looked at Sebastian and Elisha. Elisha paled because of Charlotte’s words just now.
"Do you still wish to accuse my husband, Your Highness? Marchioness Charlotte is known as an honest noble, who always treats everyone fairly."
Sebastian cursed inside his heart. The man had not expected Marchioness Charlotte’s presence in this place. Sebastian took a deep breath and was forced to side with Edmund for now. He looked at Elisha and said, "Lady Elisha, I can’t help you if you are found guilty. How about you apologize to the Duke and Duchess and admit your mistake?"
"What?! But—" Elisha stopped talking and widened her eyes when she saw Sebastian looking at her with a sharp gaze. The woman was aware that the Crown Prince had told her to withdraw first for now. Elisha clenched her fists and looked down. Her body was shaking with anger.
All of this is because of Penelope Askary!
"I’m sorry, Duke, Duchess," said Elisha in a sharp tone. "I’ve made a mistake. Forgive my impoliteness."
Penelope paused and glanced at Sebastian.
"I know you told her to do that," Penelope muttered. The woman immediately left this place together with Edmund and the twins.
###
The darkness that Penelope saw right now was already familiar to her.
Penelope knew she was in dreamland. The woman looked around and started walking. Even though her surroundings were very dark, Penelope could walk easily. Her heart was pounding but she was smiling instead. Penelope knew what this feeling meant. In a moment, that figure would definitely appear in front of her and greet her with her annoying smile.
"Long time no see, Penelope."
The guess was right, right?
Penelope turned her body and looked at the woman in front of her with a challenging gaze.
"Hey, Goddess Oizys. You haven’t come to see me in a year to threaten me, scare me, or something. What is wrong? Have you lost your source of power so you don’t have the power to meet me?" Penelope sneered.
Goddess Oizys laughed and disappeared. Then, suddenly the woman was standing in front of Penelope. Their faces were so close that Penelope could feel the dark aura choking her. Penelope winced in pain as her chin was gripped so tightly by Goddess Oizys.
"Little girl, you have dared to defy me. You dare to be arrogant in front of me. Aren’t you afraid of the nightmare I showed you?"
Penelope froze. "So, all of that was your doing, huh? You intend to ruin my relationship with my husband because you know I will be afraid of him and will stay away from him."
"Do you think I’m that stupid? What you said just now was child’s play, Penelope Askary. I want more than your fears. I want your suffering. Since you possess such great divine power, bestowed directly on you by that bitch, Goddess Elleia, I will also obtain such great power if I can make you suffer! After all, the nightmare I gave you will indeed happen in the future, Penelope. I will make you turn evil and destroy everything with your two hands!"
Goddess Oizys laughed and released Penelope’s chin. The woman then walked away and stopped. She turned her head and grinned. This made Penelope feel uncomfortable.
"Speaking of Goddess Elleia’s divine power, your children also received that bitch’s power. How about I take that power from your children first by making them suffer?"
Penelope froze. Her eyes widened. "Don’t you dare touch my children!" She shouted angrily.
"Ha ha! That’s right, Penelope... keep feeling angry. Let the anger overwhelm you and eventually turn into darkness. That way, I’ll make you my slave to make everyone suffer!" Goddess Oizys looked at Penelope with shining eyes. The woman tilted her head and crossed her arms. "Ah, do you know Isabella Lysander? Of course, you know that woman, right? The woman, who should be the female lead in this world."
Penelope frowned. Why did Goddess Oizys suddenly mention Isabella’s name?
"Did you know she was suffering, Penelope Askary? I’ve gotten a lot of energy and strength from that woman’s suffering. Maybe, Isabella Lysander will die soon because of the darkness that has begun to take over her and lock her heart."
