"Are you actually a Duke’s son or a dog?"

Isabella Lysander’s question made Ethan Askary chuckle. The two of them were walking toward the entrance of Edmund Gerwyn’s mansion from the carriage they were riding in. Isabella couldn’t understand why Ethan could be around Lysander’s mansion and followed her to Gerwyn’s. The woman already had an appointment with Penelope Askary. Isabella really liked the Gerwyn twins and wanted to play with Penelope’s two children.

"What do you mean by asking like that?" asked Ethan, amused. "Can you compare a man as handsome as me to a dog, Isabel? Well, I know there are lots of cute and cool dogs but it’s still impossible for me to be compared to them."

"Because during these nine months, you have always been wherever I am and you have never hidden your intention to follow me!" Isabella stopped in her tracks and turned her body toward Ethan. The woman crossed her arms. "If you’re always around me, how can I forget you, Ethan? You already rejected me, did you forget about that?"

Ethan rubbed his chin. "I never turned you down, Isabel. I just didn’t give you an answer to your love confession nine months ago."

"It’s the same!" Isabella groaned and massaged her temples. She opened her palms in front of Ethan’s face. "Forget it, I’m too lazy to argue with you. It will only give me a headache." Isabella turned her body and intended to continue her steps to climb the stairs to the main door of Gerwyn’s mansion. However, Isabella stopped again and frowned.

"What is it?" Ethan asked. The man was already at Isabella’s side. "Why does your face look like that?"

"Hey, Ethan?" Isabella looked up to meet Ethan’s red eyes. "I don’t know if you will believe me or not. But, since childhood, my instincts have always been right. I... am suddenly worried about Penny. This feeling came just now and it’s so sudden. I don’t know why but I feel like Penny is in trouble."

Ethan raised an eyebrow. "Then, we must go to Penny immediately."

Isabella nodded and tried to calm herself down. She walked at a fast pace so she could meet her best friend soon. While in the hallway of Gerwyn’s mansion, someone’s voice made Isabella and Ethan stop their steps.

"What are you two doing in my mansion? Aren’t you tired of coming here every day? I’m just tired of looking at you two," grumbled Edmund Gerwyn. The man just came out of his office.

"Duke, where is the Duchess?" asked Isabella in a panicked tone.

"Hey, Isabel," Ethan immediately held Isabella’s arm and tried to calm her down. "Calm down. Who’s going to hurt Penny in this mansion? With this monster Duke around—"

"Hey!" Edmund protested but Ethan ignored him.

"Penny and the twins’ safety is guaranteed. Duke also has many knights, who have abilities above average."

"Ethan, I can’t calm down until I confirm with my own two eyes that Penny is okay!" Isabella looked at Edmund. "Where’s the Duchess?"

Edmund took a deep breath and snorted. "Penny is in the backyard with the twins. She is currently sword practicing."

"Sword practice—hey, Isabel!" Ethan shouted. The man immediately chased after Isabella, who ran toward the backyard. Seeing that, Edmund and Ethan immediately run after her. The Duke turned his head around and stared at Ethan while running.

"Ethan, what’s going on?"

"I don’t know either," Ethan replied. "But, as soon as she got here, Isabel said she had a feeling something bad was going to happen to Penny."

Hearing that, Edmund widened his eyes. He cursed under his breath and sped up his run.

"Even if I have to die, I will never let you take my children, Philleo Aaron!" Penelope shouted.

Philleo laughed mockingly and opened the hood of his black robe. He showed his silver hair which was long now and tied in a single knot. Then, Philleo’s purple eyes returned to the twins.

"It’s easy for me to take them, my Penelope." The man snapped his fingers and the twins flew up into the air. Penelope gasped and widened her eyes. She could see Rosaline and Sarah screaming in panic and trying to catch up to the twins, who were crying loudly. Then, the twins flew right at Philleo, who was laughing again. The man kept the twins suspended in the air and his eyes refocused on Penelope, who was growling.

"I will kill you, Philleo Aaron!"

"You want to kill me? With your tiny, frail body, Penelope?" Phileo sneered. "Ah, I just realized you were pointing a sword at me. Your attire is also the attire normally worn by female knights. Are you practicing swords, Penelope? You want to learn to fight, huh?"

"Shut up!" Penelope shouted. Out of the corner of her eyes, Penelope could see Rosaline running toward her and pointing her sword straight at Philleo. Meanwhile, Sarah ran into the mansion for help. Today, there wasn’t a single shadow knight placed by Edmund at Penelope’s side because the Duke thought nothing would harm his wife and children. "Put my children down right now, you son of a bitch!"

"Hm... how about I test your swordsmanship, Darling?" Philleo took out his sword and pointed it at Penelope. The man smirked. His eyes twinkled like a psychopath. "If I win, I will kill your baby boy and I will take you and Ocean Gerwyn with me. However, if I lose, I will let you catch me and put me in prison."

Without waiting any longer, Penelope immediately attacked Philleo. Her sword and Philleo’s sword clashed, making a horrible sound. Philleo’s left hand aimed at Rosaline and a light shot out from his palm. The light hit Rosaline, sending Rosaline flying and hitting her back against a tree trunk. Hearing Rosaline’s scream, Penelope turned her head and widened her eyes. "Rosaline!"

"Hey, if you’re fighting someone, never take your eyes off that person!"

Philleo immediately pushed his sword and made Penelope tumble down. The sword in the woman’s hand flew away and Penelope’s right hand shook violently. She hissed in pain as she realized her hand was injured. Even though her whole body ached, Penelope would not give up. She had to save her children.

"Do you still want to continue this fight?" asked Phileo. "It’s useless, my dear Penelope. You’re just wasting your time. This is my victory." The man put down his sword again and snapped his fingers. Then, the twins started to descend and Philleo caught them both. He looked at Ocean Gerwyn with adoring eyes while looking at Raven Gerwyn with hateful eyes. "I do hate your baby boy but I will use it to avenge Duke Edmund."

"No! Give me back my children!" Penelope shouted. The woman started crying and ran toward Philleo. She tried to snatch the twins from Philleo’s arms. "Give Raven and Ocean back!"

"I’ll be back to pick you up, Penelope. For now, I will take these two children to my hideout!"

Philleo kicked Penelope in the stomach, causing the woman to be thrown and rolled over. Her stomach hurt so badly but Penelope didn’t care. She tried to stand up and ran back to Philleo.

"Raven, Ocean! Use your power, Honey! Come back to Mother!" Penelope shouted. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

"You really are a stubborn woman, Penelope!"

When Philleo was about to kick Penelope’s stomach again, that pink light appeared on the bodies of Penelope and the twins. Then, the twins flew into the air again and it was Philleo who was thrown far away this time. The man groaned in pain and spit blood mixed with saliva from his mouth. Then, Philleo could see the twins flying toward Penelope and landing in the woman’s arms.

"Magic power?" muttered Phileo. The man snorted and stood up. "Well, it doesn’t matter to me. They are still babies despite having magic power. Their magic power is clearly no match for mine."

"Then, shouldn’t we finish it manually? I mean, fight to the death with a sword instead of magic!"

That sentence made Philleo flinch and looked up. His purple eyes widened as he saw Edmund Gerwyn leap at him aiming his sword. While cursing, Philleo jumped to the side and rolled on the ground. As he was about to stand up, he realized someone was intending to attack him and Philleo immediately dodged. The man turned his head and looked at Ethan Askary, who also pointed his sword at him.

"Two against one, huh?" chuckled Phileo. The man looked at Penelope, who was crying while hugging her children. Beside Penelope, Isabella Lysander and Sarah knelt while hugging her. "This is definitely not an advantage for me. Even though I am good at swords, if I were to face two men with above-average sword skills like you guys, I would definitely lose too."

"Damn it! What are you doing here, Philleo Aaron?! How could you intrude into my mansion and intend to harm my children?!" shouted Edmund angrily. The man accidentally met Sarah, who looked panicked and cried. Then, Sarah told him that Penelope was fighting Philleo Aaron, who was trying to kidnap the twins.

"With magic, anything can be done, Duke Edmund. And I’m definitely here to take away the woman I love so much, Penelope," Philleo said in adoration. "It’s been too long since I let her be in a monster lair like this and live under the same roof with you. I have heard from that woman that you will only hurt Penelope!"

Edmund frowned. That woman? Who is Philleo Aaron referring to?

"Then, I saw a very beautiful baby girl, who looked just like my Penelope. I also want to have her. Ocean Gerwyn. The name is beautiful but the last name is no good for a baby as beautiful as her. I will take her away from here and change her name to Ocean Aaron. It suits her better, doesn’t it?"

"You’ve lost your mind, Phil!" Ethan shouted. His red eyes were sharp and cold. "I didn’t expect you to turn into a man like this!"

Philleo Aaron snorted and the expression on his face was flat. "I’m always like this. You’re the only one who doesn’t know me well, Ethan."

"I think this conversation is over," growled Edmund. "Prepare to die, Philleo Aaron!"

When Philleo saw the light coming from Edmund’s sword, Philleo immediately moved. The man snapped his fingers and a magic circle appeared under his feet. Then, Philleo laughed scornfully as the wind he created together with the magic circle under his feet stopped Edmund and the others’ movements.

"I’ll be back again!" shouted Philleo. His body slowly disappeared within the magic circle. "I’m going to pick up Penelope and Ocean. I will take what should be mine! Remember that, Edmund Gerwyn!"
