Reincarnated With The Van Helsing System-Chapter 625: Challenges Daimon & Nethereal sisters, Jazmine’s version (part 14)
At the last battlefield prepared for the subordinates of the queens to fight, a tall girl with light brown hair and blue eyes, excitedly waited for the barrier to fade, who could be but Loren.
She who was left for the end, had her fighting spirit increased with each announcement of victory that had echoed through the sky so far.
'Finally, it's my turn', thought the light brown-haired girl.
In contrast, her opponent a bulky guy with dark brown hair, had a clearly angered expression, unlike the previous nethereals that felt indignation over the fact that their companions lost, thus staining the reputation of the special corps and even more accurately the glory of the Balax army, this guy seemed… gloomy?
'The enemy won so Meina must be dead… fucking bastards!!!', in inwardly swore in his heart.
At this point it's clear that these guys from the special corps, raised by the Balax Lord are slightly better than the other nethereal races created by the Bane and Asmadian Lords, not only in terms of fighting capacities or talent, but in terms of complexity.
Since they had shown to have more to them than just blind faith to their Lord and the emotion that drives their existence, for example Ethan and Erika had a sibling bond with each other, the poison nethereal woman that just died admired the captain of the special corps and this guy who was left for the last fight… loved the poison nethereal from earlier.
So instead of feeling humiliation as a member of the special corps, he felt a burning hatred to the enemies that caused the death of the one he loved, though there wasn't anything going on between them.
High into the sky, after having recovered from the anger that seeing her younger brother die in such a miserable way brought her, the enemy queen Erika felt the agitated state in which her last piece and last hope to not be a complete loser like the queens before her were and she decided to change her approach this time.
'Calm down, out of all the enemies she was judged to be the that could bring the most "surprises" to the fights, which is why you were assigned to be her opponent', said the enemy queen in a voice that only that bulky guy could hear.
'This bitch was with that earth affinity guy right… I'll rip her to shreds as revenge for Meina!', unfortunately the rook guy was too angered to care about Erika's words right now, and the enemy queen realized it, so she clicked her tongue to then say.
'That's fine for me, if you win her in the most horrible way, I'll personally ask the Lord to bring that assassin back, you have heard of it right, the greatest honor that the Lord can bestow upon us, is make it so we can keep on getting stronger forever, but it's something that must be earned, good luck'.
After listening that there was a chance for his beloved to come back, the rook guy's murderous intent shot through the roof, he wished to rip the barrier apart with his own hands to follow up with the light brown-haired girl in front of him.
And luckily for him, the waiting time ended ad the barrier faded away, signaling the start of the last fight of this round.
"Booom!", not wanting to waste a single second, the rook guy who by the way is a knight, pounced on Loren with his battle aura cladded body, he didn't even take a moment to use a martial art.
Not because he was looking down on the enemy, but because in a close combat clash, between a knight that has no time to prepare and a mage that has no time to prepare, the knight will win nine out of ten times.
Unfortunately, this case was that one out of ten in which the result won't go according to what it should according to probability.
"Clang!", the battle aura cladded fist was… blocked.
"What!", exclaimed the knight with disbelief as he saw the thin looking forearm glowing in yellow light which got in the way of his punch.
"Light Protection", mumbled Loren who took half a step back due to the impact, she showed no signs of pain as she extended her free arm, taking out her Morningstar mace which exploded in yellow colored mana to then be smacked at the enemy's arm.
"Crack!", the rook guy was a step too late and even though he retrieved his battle aura cladded fist, some of the spikes of the enemy's Morningstar tore away a few pieces of his battle aura.
Naturally, the light brown-haired girl wasn't planning on giving the enemy time to understand what just happened, with her legs glowing in yellow light, she flashed towards the enemy's direction.
"Flash Step", by turning into a yellow flash, Loren appeared behind the rook guy with her Morningstar aiming at his back, which made the enemy roar.
"Don't get carried away!", dark brown battle aura exploded around the rook guy's body, forcing Loren to retreat and giving the enemy time to cast his first martial art.
"Legion Reinforcement, Heavy Infantry Armor", the battle aura that had gathered around the rook guy's body, turned into an ethereal looking full plated armor, he also took advantage of the last second of non-interference he could buy with that battle aura release to bring out his magic weapon, a pair of spiked gauntlets.
'I might be not attack but defense oriented, but still can't believe she directly blocked my punch… I guess the others didn't lose just because of it, whatever, let's see her trying to block my attacks with her bare body now!', thought the rook guy as he charged at Loren, who despite what the enemy expected didn't distance herself.
It's what he expected not only because she is a mage, but a bishop, her piece's trait is beneficial for long range combat, so the rook guy expected her to flash away to then rain down long distance attack spells on him.
But not only that wasn't the case, but the light brown-haired girl even rushed frontwards as well, using her Morningstar to block the incoming punch from her right side.
"Booom!", the magic weapons as well as the mana that and battle aura that cladded them, violently clashed, ending with the mana losing in when it came to the energy clash, it was understandable, the enemy had earth affinity, which in terms of defense is one of the best elements, while Loren has light affinity
That being said, the Morningstar won at the magic weapon clash, resulting in a relative tie, at least until the rook guy threw his free arm backwards to then punch at Loren's face.
"Crack!", the massive looking metal and battle aura cladded fist was met with a pretty and small fist glowing in a yellow light, needless to say but the former overwhelmed the latter, the dark brown battle aura exterminated the yellow mana, but surprisingly a though creaking still solid sound was produced the moment the gauntlet cladded fist landed on the small bare fist.
The spikes did wound that small fist of Loren's, but that was it, the sight of flesh and bones being torn apart due to the impact of his fist, didn't appear for the rook guy to enjoy, instead of that a yellow mana cladded leg landed a heavy kick on his armored right side.
"Clang!", with the sound of metals colliding, the rook guy took a couple of steps backwards, while the light brown-haired girl was sent flying a few dozens of meters in comparison, in other words her attack was counterproductive, but that didn't seem to weight down on her.
"Flash Step", with a couple of words, Loren turned into a yellow flash that moved in circles around the rook guy, she might not be a speed focused mage, but in comparison with an earth affinity defense-oriented knight, she is of course faster.
Not like just that gave her a major advantage over the opponent, who is the defense specialist of the special corps, meaning that he is used to deal with enemies that are faster than him.
"Battleground Stalactite Explosion!", in a second, countless earth spikes covered with dark brown battle aura, manifested around the rook guy to then be shot in every direction.
Loren who was charging at the enemy found herself assaulted by those spikes in every direction, she broke the ones aiming at her vitals with her Morningstar and smacked away some of the annoying ones remaining with her free hand, but still couldn't get rid of all of them.
Which resulted in the light brown-haired girl having a rock stalactite break the mana protection on her right shoulder and leave a cut on her skin, her mana protection still managed to deviate the stalactite enough so it didn't pierce her flesh, but her pretty skin was ruptured due to the leftover impact.

Naturally the wound wasn't clean, since the stalactite had an irregular surface, instead of a cut, it was scratch, one that looked quite painful by the way.
But she didn't have the time to look at it, since the rook guy had appeared out of nowhere with his right fist aimed at her face.
"Battleground Charge!", he mixed himself into the wide area martial art of earlier, by using his movement martial art, in order to land a proper hit on the enemy.
"Booom!", with little time to react, Loren placed her forearms on the way of the incoming punch to take the impact on her stead, her mana protection was instantly destroyed and her skin followed, this time the spiked gauntlets made some blood splatter as she was sent flying into the distance.
"Crack!", at the resting area, the ground below Calvin exploded out of nowhere, the whole area actually started trembling as if a tremor was about to happen, seeing the murderous expression on Calvin's face, Michael placed his hand on his shoulder.
"Hey, calm down you bastard, she suffered worse wounds back at the little tournament we had at the academy and she didn't even let out a peep back then, do you think she'll suffer with just that with her current strength?".
"Yeah…", the storming mana being radiated by Calvin, returned to calmness, it was rare to see the usually relaxed and clownish Grish young master lose his cool, it was justified though.
Ever since the fight started, the enemy's attacks might appear to be aimed at her vitals but that wasn't the case, the aim of his first punch was her chest not her heart, and right now the rook guy used the opening to aim his punch at her face, not her head but her specifically her face.
In other words, the opponent was focusing in humiliating Loren, not in killing her, it wasn't like the other nethereals that lost because they underestimated or ignored the hidden abilities of their opponents, this time the enemy looked to crush Loren alongside said hidden abilities.
And he had the confidence to do so, because despite him being the third in command at the special corps, not even Ethan could defeat him in battle, his offensive power lacked in comparison to the vice-captain of course, but only the captain has ever defeated him, which is why Erika placed him at the last battlefield.
He was a little "surprise" she prepared in case everything else failed her, he didn't need to kill the enemy, he just needed to bring shame to her and not lose, with that it would be enough, since there was a time limit for the battlefields and if there was no clear winner, the victory will be decided based on the states of the participants.
Speaking of which, the light brown-haired girl, who after being sent flying for around a hundred meters, managed to stop her retreat, looked at the wounds on her forearms and the scratch on her shoulder to then say.
"Flash Heal", with a couple of words, yellow mana covered her wounds stopping the bleeding a second later, to then grow new flesh where it was needed, it still was obvious that she suffered wound, at least until she said.
"Restoration", with that any traces of she having suffered wounds by irregular objects like those stalactites or the spiked gauntlets, completely disappeared.
She combined two basic healing spells to produce an effect that even if slightly, still surpassed what middle ranked healing spell would do, it's not something that just anyone could do, it was "Amplification" one of the original principles behind Elemental Resonation, though much older and basically forgotten at this point, since it required too much effort to be unsure whether it would work, unlike team/group spells which was the counterpart of Elemental Resonation.
It was the normal considering that Loren's family focused in healing magic after losing all the records of their attack and even defense type spells at the Lord rank and above.
The original idea was to become irreplaceable for one of the major forces within the White Fang galaxy so that they would be able to obtain protection and look for a way to get rid off the ban that was placed on them.
Unfortunately, while learning basic healing magic wasn't hard for the average members of Loren's family, they who didn't originally focus on that subject had trouble to learn the more advanced spells, and due to their reputation, they weren't accepted in any of the decent magic academies.
So, they resorted to self-learning through whatever information they could get their hands on, even mouth to mouth knowledge they could gather from anywhere was used by them, hence why it took them quite a few generations to reach a level where they could really be of use and by that time it was a bit too late.
Healing potions had taken the spot they wanted, since they could be available 24/7 and for even the lowest ranked soldier, unlike healing focused mages like them, what's more they weren't even given a chance to try at a decent position, due to the "betrayal" of their ancestors.
And that continued until Loren's father was taken in by Richard, in other words Ivy's grandfather, alongside another healer from the royal lineage of Loren's family, which ended in Loren being able to assist the Wild Claw Academy thanks to her father's contributions.
Loren quite literally carried with the hopes of her family ever since they lost their standing at the four galaxies and it was for a good reason, her talent for healing magic was unheard off in the White Fang galaxy, wounds that would take a minute for a team spell to heal, took only seconds for her, not to mention that she could heal herself as well, she was a valuable healer apt to be deployed on the battlefield… once she grew of course.
That was the main problem, she had to survive and not fall to the schemes of the ones that didn't want her family to rise again, which was basically most of the White Fang galaxy, at least in the open, since the Jolbaris for example were aiming to gain her by making her join Alexander's Elite class.
"I guess that explains why you use a Morningstar instead of a staff unlike healers, but I wonder if you can come back from being turned into a bloody mess!", the rook guy who received praises from Erika over the previous, once again charged at Loren.
'Who cares about the rules of a battle, if a show is what it takes for Meina to come back, I'll skin her alive with my nails if needed!', he inwardly swore as he clawed at the light brown-haired girl's right side, again it was an attack meant to humiliate not to kill.
"Battleground Tearing Slash!".
However, this time what welcomed him was a soft snort from Loren whose hand shot like a whip to then… grab his hands.
"Booom!", the martial art which was stopped midway, still produced a loud shockwave that made Loren's pretty light brown hair flutter, but this time she only retreated one step backwards.
"Crack!", what followed was the light brown-haired girl, using her knee to hit the rook guy's right side, in other words, she returned the humiliation try to right back to him.
What's more, a couple of cracks appeared on the ethereal full plate armor that was protecting the rook guy's body.
"Battleground Shockwave!", with a loud shout, the rook guy exploded in dark brown battle aura, the impact forced Loren who was holding onto his wrists since when she stopped his martial art earlier, to let go of him.
'What the hell, she only used a mana armor and healing spells so far, I could still believe that she had a relatively high physical strength considering she uses a Morningstar, but it doesn't make sense that she suddenly became strong enough to stop my martial art with her damn bare hands', thought the nethereal.
Unfortunately, he had no time to ponder about it, since Loren whose legs lit up in yellow mana, flashed at him to start a close combat brawl, with her Morningstar on one hand and her bare fist she started hitting the rook guy while flashing around him.
"Clang!", continuous metal clashing sounds echoed through the battlefield, her attacks weren't as heavy as the knee kick from earlier, so she wasn't doing anything to the armor of the enemy who kept aiming at non-vital places, forcing her to dodge, she wasn't blocking his attacks directly unlike earlier which confused the enemy.
"Whatever you are trying now, it won't work, Battleground Stalactite…", the rook guy who was in the middle of releasing a martial art, suddenly heard a shattering sound.
"Crack!", under the eyes of disbelief of the nethereal, his ethereal full plate armor… crumbled apart, it was instantaneous and came out of nowhere, just like the little fist that just landed on his chest right now.
"Ack!", naturally as a defense type knight, and a rook piece, his body was tough, so the rook guy didn't suffer a noticeable wound, he didn't even bleed, but a bruise did appear on his chest and he was forced a dozen of meters backwards.
"Let's see you healing that", said Loren which made the rook guy see red, he now understood why his companions lost, not all of them underestimated their opponents, though some were arrogant if they were stupid, they would have died after facing the people that ended stranded here through the years, since some weren't your average people.
What happened is that these guys they were facing, surpassed not only what they took into precaution but even what they expected in the worst-case scenario, for example if someone told the rook guy that his aura armor will be destroyed by a light haling type mage, he would have not believed it.
"Booom!", the rook guy immediately exploded in battle aura, since that was the case, he decided to stop playing around, it's not like his attacks until now weren't serious, it's just that he didn't want to use this much battle aura.
"Legion Reinforcement, Heavy Defense Armor", this time only his chest, calves, forearms and shoulders were covered in battle aura armor, however it looked way more solid than the previous one.
And it was for a reason, the previous armor was for "infantry", it's something used when going on the offensive, but now, he was taking a defensive stance.
'Let's see you breaking through this one', thought the rook guy as he smacked his gauntlet cladded fists together.
"Battleground Meteor Impact!", with his right fist covered in battle aura and a layer of rock, the rook guy punched frontwards, just the pressure shot by his fist created a strong current of air, that was followed by a dark brown stream of battle aura flying at high speed towards Loren.
Who in response exploded in yellow mana to then swing her Morningstar at the incoming attack.
"Fountain of Life", she mumbled before she was swallowed by the stream of battle aura.
