As the spider reached closer to Luke, Luke slowly opened his eyes.
He could feel the noise that was going on around him. For the spider to come after him all of a sudden meant that the spider feared his existence, and that simply meant that his attack could kill the spider.
Luke voiced out with a smile.
"You all have done well. Now it’s my turn."
Luke smiled as he unleashed his strongest skill.
"D ranked: Giant Lizard!"
Luke’s standing point was enclosed with an orange colored energy. The orange energy grew bigger and a giant lizard was seen forming out from it.
The giant lizard came out fully and it was almost the size of the spider. The lizard screamed out and rushed to attack the giant spider.
The size of Luke lizard caused the eyebrows of many people to raise, they couldn’t believe that Luke would be capable of summoning a monster as big as the one the instructor summoned.
Luke was simply phenomenal in their eyes.
Luke casually folded his hands across his chest as he waited to see what his monster would be capable of doing.
The spider waited for the lizard to come closer. The lizard came closer and continued to scream out at the spider.
It continued to scream without doing anything and the spider was just watching.
Luke’s cheeks moved seeing the spider was being intimidated by his lizard. He didn’t know why his lizard wasn’t attacking but he could make it do.
Luke snapped his fingers commanding his lizard to attack. Just as he did that, the spider rampaged its claws on the lizard, scattering it to pieces.
Everybody was flabbergasted on their spots. Their eyes burst open in shock seeing Luke lizard didn’t even last a minute against the spider.
The spider screamed out again and everyone started running to different corners.
Luke was motionless on his spot. Unable to fathom what he just witnessed.
’What a disgrace.
What a big slap in the face.’
Luke eyebrows pushed down to his eyes as he glared at the spider. He screamed out as he moved his hands.
"Goddamn you bastard! I will show you what I can do."
Luke was about to perform another spell again when the spider claws suddenly extended to his face.
The sharp claws was about to chop his head away when Hillary deflected the attack with her katana.
The motion caused Luke to fall on his butt while Hillary was sent staggering a few distance backwards.
Hillary quickly gained her balance back. She couldn’t believe the stupidity of Luke, thinking that a mere D ranked summon would be able to go toe to toe with a level two C ranked monster.
The reason the spider came after Luke was because Luke was trying to bring out another monster into his space, not that he found Luke threatening.
What a joke!
Luke was terrified on his spot. He couldn’t believe he almost died just now, just like that.
The thought of it scared Luke to the bone and his whole body started shaking vigorously on the floor.
"I am not ready yet.... It’s too early... I need to train.. I need time to train harder!!"
Just then, Hillary walked past him.
"If you don’t want to die you better go join the rest over there."
Without waiting for further words, Luke stood and ran away.
Hillary tightens her grips on her katana. She remembered how Jonathan pushed her out of the way.
That bastard!
Her grips hardened more. Well, she couldn’t care less about him. Now he was on the floor while she was still standing, and that just made everything easier for her.
She would get to kill the spider and claim the title as the top performance of the day and of the new recruitments in total.
Hillary’s aura changed at that moment. The spider sensed Hillary’s aura and immediately launched to Hillary. The color of Hillary katana changed to orange. Summoning monsters likes to go after the strongest person in the surrounding, unless being told otherwise by their master.
They like to do the hard work first and then mess around with the ones they deem unworthy.
Just as the spider was coming closer to Hillary, it extended its claws to Hillary’s face once more, but Hillary had seen it countless times in her mind that she wasn’t going to fall to it again.
Hillary effortlessly evaded the attack and smashed forward to the spider.
"D ranked: Savage Slash"
"Level one"
Hillary smashed her katana to the spider head region, but the spiders used its remaining legs to block Hillary’s attack. Hillary wasn’t surprised by that. Just like she suspected, the spider weaks spots was its head region and it would do anything to protect it. Well, she was just getting started.
"Savage Slash: Level two"
"Level 3!"
"Level 4!"
Hillary continued to smashed her katana to the spider head but the spider blocked all of it. She could tell that throwing her attacks wouldn’t work on the spider. Since she was a swordsmanship ability users, she either gets to throw her attacks with her katana or she cuts directly through it. Cutting directly with it was more powerful, but that was a risky move here.
Hillary took her time to look at the spider more closely again. Its legs were made out of hard bones, so her attacks might never be able to penetrate the hard defense.
The only way for her was to get an opening that the spider legs wouldn’t be able to cover.
Hillary took a different stance and summoned more of her energy.
"Savage Slash: Level 5"
Hillary smashed the attack to the spider at once. Before the spider could recover from the attack, Hillary sent another one quickly, but the spider blocked the attack once more, but it didn’t matter because it was merely a distraction from Hillary.
Hillary used the moment to leap in the air, getting a full view at the spider body region.
The legs of the spider were so damn hard that her attacks wouldn’t be able to penetrate them, but her attacks would definitely be able to penetrate the body of the spider.
This was a golden opportunity, and she didn’t want to make any mistakes, so she decided she would be hitting the spider with her ultimate attack. Although it would leave her vulnerable for a few seconds, she would’ve gotten the job done already.
The atmosphere suddenly changed as Hillary summoned more of her energy. Her orange energy in her katana started glowing more brightly and she moved her hands to swing it to the spider body region.
"D ranked: Cleave Slash"
"Level 8!"
She was about to move her katana when all the spider’s legs ascended to her in the air, with their sharp edges reaching to slice her whole body to pieces.
