Reincarnated: I Became The First Warlord Of The World-Chapter 35
Luke spoke everyone’s mind. What they were hearing was insane.
The lady’s expression was poker as she responded to Luke.
"The higher ups arranged this combat training themselves, if any of you can’t make it out of this training in one piece then resources shouldn’t be wasted on you. It would be better that the training ground was where your life journey ended rather than wasting the country’s resources and dying like a chicken in the battlefield!"
The lady’s words were clear now. The country didn’t want to waste their time and effort on people that wouldn’t be able to amount to anything, thus they were ready to kill them off quickly.
That was insane.
The place became noisy again. This time the lady didn’t bother to stop it. Although the training would be intense, and people could get injured, they wouldn’t let anyone die, however she had to make the dangers look so real so that everyone would be forced to work harder in the coming five days.
The high ups had specially arranged this combat training themselves, some of the higher ups even wanted death to occur, but after several changes, they decided nobody should be allowed to die, but injuries could occur.
Luke didn’t know what else to say now. It was very clear now what the higher ups were trying to do and he was scared to the bone.
He raised his hand up again and voiced out.
"Why don’t we make the combat training like the rest of the training. It shouldn’t be a team but an individual effort. We each go to the confrontation hall and see how many monsters we can handle and then we will be graded by points. The lowest...."
Luke couldn’t finish his words when the lady cut off him with a deadly glare.
"There is nothing like that on the battlefield. You think you get to choose who to fight when you get to the battlefield, or how you want to fight. Everything comes at you at once and you get to choose how long you can survive. When you make it to the time you had set in your head, you ask yourself the same question again.
How long can I survive again?"
The lady’s words caused Luke to start shaking vigorously.
’Damn. Damnit. Goddamnit!’
The lady faced everyone with a straight face.
"I am afraid if any of you don’t make it to the second stage of the magical path within the next five days, just consider yourself dead already.
There is no way you will be able to withstand the creature that would be coming after you. You only have a chance if you are at the second stage of your magical path."
Just as the lady finished saying those words, Jonathan entered the hall.
His presence caught everyone’s attention immediately, including the lady.
Jonathan thought he could sneak inside but once again, all eyes were on him.
He had a hard time finding this place. He would never have found it if he didn’t remember running past a temple during the morning race, and truly the temple was the spiritual ground the bald headed man was talking about.
The temple was detached from the headquarters building, which was what made it difficult for him.
Seeing everyone’s eyes were on him, Jonathan walked straight to where the instructor was standing.
"Ma!"
He saluted right away. The lady looked at him with deadly eyes.
"You are from Baytorn."
Jonathan lips formed a half smile when she asked. He quickly responded loudly.
"Yes, and I was part of the martial arts that participated in the battlefield."
Jonathan thought that would ease the glare he was getting from the lady, but it only made it worse.
"You have experience first hand of what a war feels like and you are coming this late!"
Jonathan felt like he had shot himself on the leg. Before he could say anything, the lady responded again.
"Perhaps, you didn’t think you should be here, you already know how it feels like, that means you are fully ready. You don’t need to be told anything anymore."
Jonathan was dumbfounded. The lady stepped closer to him.
"If you feel that way, then you might be at the first stage of your magical path already. How about this, I wouldn’t punish you if you have entered the first stage of your magical path."
Jonathan was stunned by the lady’s words. Before he could say anything, everyone burst out laughing.
They all thought the lady was going to let Jonathan go, but unfortunately for Jonathan he would be facing punishment this time around.
It was obvious that Jonathan wasn’t at the first stage of the magical path yet. Even though he was from Baytorn, he went through his awakening yesterday, so there was no way Jonathan could have trained so hard to enter the first stage of his magical path, and they doubt if Jonathan even knows how to enter the progression dimension.
"If you are not. I am going to punish you severely. I might even deduct some points from your general score."
Hillary finally looked at Jonathan when she heard that.
Jonathan didn’t know what to do. According to the knowledge he had received from the bald headed man. It would be difficult to explain to everyone that he was at the second stage of his magical path.
It had only been a day and some hours since he awakened his ability, yet he was already at the second stage of his magical path.
Jonathan didn’t know what to say, but he certainly didn’t want points to be deducted from his general score. He needs to win the top performance for tomorrow so he would be able to take the bronze medal again. No matter what point deduct was a no no for him.
"So are you up to it or not?"
The lady voiced out again. Jonathan walked to her and placed his hand on her shoulder.
"I think I should count my stars."
With that, Jonathan channeled his energy to the hand he was using to touch the lady. He didn’t have to be told to understand how that works.
The lady’s eyes widened when she saw Jonathan was at the second stage of his magical path.
"Impossible."
She muttered to herself. Jonathan released his energy all over his body and everyone was shocked to see that Jonathan was at the second stage of his magical path, including Hillary.
Her eyes were widely opened in shock. She thought Jonathan awakened his abilities yesterday, how the hell did he level up this fast.
Luke couldn’t believe what he was seeing. He wanted to voice out calmly but he ended up stammering.
"You went through your awakening yesterday, how could you have level up this fast? What did you do!"
