Chapter 81: Waterwheel

After 10 tries...

Alaric clicked the button again, deducting another 200,00 cp from his account.

[Congratulations on your summons.]

From within the glowing gate, a creature walked out.

A white spider with black spots decorated all over its body.

Standing up, it was almost the same height as the man that summoned it.

[Auzure Spider.]

[When fed, this spider has the ability to create webs with high conductivity to anything. Note: It can produce as many webs as you need, as long as it’s being fed.]

Alaric stared at the spider. He was so drained he couldn’t manage an expression.

Pssssss!

The spider hissed.

It was definitely not what he wanted.

But after losing so many Cp, Alaric didn’t have any other source.

He sighed.

"Fine, I accept." Alaric placed his hand on his waist.

’Upgrade the Auzure, diamond rank.’ he issued.

[Request confirmed.]

[Upgrading beast from bronze rank to diamond rank.]

[Cost: 1 million eres.]

"What the fuck?!!!" Alaric yelled.

Laura and Aurora who were standing at a distance could only watch with nervous chuckles.

"Why is it always increasing in price?!"

[Cost: 1 million eres.]

Alaric glared, grunting as he weighed down his options.

With a resigned sigh, he clicked the button.

The spider, as expected began to undergo evolution.

It’s skin got shinier and its body grew more modest, having a good shape.

[Congratulations, your summons have been upgraded to a diamond rank.]

[Added abilities: A human forms, duplication, indestructible threads.]

The one sad look on Alaric’s face lit up the moment he noticed the abilities.

"Duplication and indestructible threads?"

A business idea popped up in his head.

With a slight laugh to indulge himself, he turned around to address Laura and Aurora.

"Take care of Auzure, I’ll be back!" He ran off.

Laura and Aurora stood still, wondering what they were supposed to do with their newly added member.

"Are we supposed to look after her?" Aurora whispered to Laura.

"Seems like that’s what the young master wants." Laura whispered back.

"I don’t know how to handle this... so you go."

"A spider? Spirits don’t do well with spiders or insects in general."

"An S rank spirit afraid of a spider? For shame."

"I don’t want to hear that from the Alpha wolf."

"You trying to get to me?"

"What do you think?"

They went back and forth.

Suddenly...

"Who says I need looking after?"

The tiny female voice echoed.

Both Laura and Aurora turned their gaze forward, but they didn’t see anyone.

"I was sure I heard someone speak." Laura uttered.

"No, we definitely did. By the way, where is Auzure?"

Aurora and Laura looked forward, realizing the giant spider was no longer there.

"The young master is going to kill you. How could you lose the new member." Laura said.

"The hell, don’t blame me for-"

"Down here! Geez! How rude of you to ignore me like that! I’ll have you know I can do the same to you! Maybe then you’ll understand how it feels to be Ignored!"

This time they could clearly hear the voice, despite how tiny it was.

Slowly, they both lowered their gaze, and that was when they saw her.

The small woman.

Having a small body, she complimented that with her figure. Her thighs were just the right size, her boobs also helping her look sexier than she needed to be.

She was dressed in a white body suit, with marking on her skin. And a long black hair that literally touched the ground behind her.

It didn’t take them long to realize the girl, was the giant spider, Auzure.

"Hey! Are you listening to me?! I request an apology for your rudeness!" Auzure shouted with her hands pointed.

While Laura was surprised, Aurora lost it.

"Ahhh~ what is this cutenessssssssssss?`~`" she panted heavily, drooling with a love sign throbbing in her eyes.

"Uhn? Don’t call me-"

Aurora grabbed Auzure before she could complete her words.

"She’s so adorableeee~ no like whaaa, ahhh~ I’m gonna explode with joy. What is this?~"

Aurora rubbed her entire face on Auzure while hugging her.

"Unhand me! Ah, hey, t..that tickles! Ah~ s..topppp".

Laura watched, understanding Aurora was clearly assaulting the new summon but unable to do anything.

Thus, she only watched.

Later that day, all the summons gathered inside Alaric’s room, where he wanted to address the new member of the summon family.

Standing in front of Auzure, he couldn’t help but think his hand on his chin.

’A loli?’ he thought silently.

’I knew my summons would get human forms when they get to diamond rank. I’m just surprised because I didn’t expect this form at all.’

He stared at her for a while.

"W-hat...y.. you’re staring at me to m-much?" Auzure looked to the side, blushing. She grabbed her hair, allowing her fingers to run through it as a means to hide her red face.

The sight alone made Alaric realize something..

’She’s cute.’

He was at least better than Aurora who he could have sworn was wanted to eat Auzure.

Sighing, Alaric spoke, "This may sound a bit rushed and all, but I need your help, and it has to be today."

Auzure paused, "I’m willing to help my master with whatever he needs."

"Excellent." Alaric smiled, "it’s just a small duty so I’m sure you can manage it."

Auzure was more than ready. It was her first service to her Master. As a summon, she most definitely did not want to ruin it.

Thus she paid attention to Alaric’s orders.

He told her to duplicate herself while being stuck in a single room. Since all her clones had the same skills she did, she didn’t bother staying with them.

Her skill allowed her to create an endless amount of clones without ever running out of mana.

With over fifty of her clones inside the large room, Alaric had the maids of the mansion to deliver food to them.

They ate.

And ate.

And ate.

But at the same time, they also delivered the exact thing Alaric wanted.

Magic threads. A huge amount of it.

In less than ten minutes, the clones had produced enough threads to go around the barony and back.

As they kept producing it, the workers began gathering them and placing them inside the wagons set outside the mansion.

The threads were just as Alaric wanted. Thanks to its hard exterior, it could transfer and multiply electricity at an alarming rate. Meaning, even a battery would operate like a transformer when used.

To add to it, being indestructible also makes it worth it since now, Alaric doesn’t need an insulator.

In less than a day, more than five wagons had been filled with the indestructible threads.

The next day, Alaric and the rest of the workers got ready to set out.

Standing in front of the wagons, Alaric allowed the people to get everything ready.

’Only a few more days. Just a few more days and I can finally retire.’

He said to himself.

That has always been his goal. Once he had settled everything with the Count, and established the business to a point where others can run it for him.

He would then retire.

Going back to his introverted life.

The fact he had gotten so used to the new world was a bit scary. Hell, there were times he forgot he got to the new world through a simulation.

"Lord Alaric. We are ready to head out." Ava came to report.

"Alright then."

Looking a bit further back, he could see his parents, Fiona and some of the maids waving at him.

He smiled.

’That’s right. Right now, I am the last hope of my family. I refuse to fail, not until I bag that sweet hard retiring.’

And with that, Alaric and his people made their way to Ernesto county.

It took them a couple of days to arrive there.

Once they did, it took a bit of speaking for the people around to understand the project that was about to take place.

Alaric didn’t bother checking up on the County, if anything, he wanted to avoid him till he was done building the powerplant.

Every single one of his workers that came with him instantly started working.

Though there were times where the merchant brothers tried to get involved, thanks to the contract Velmo signed, Alaric was able to refuse their entry.

He moved his project to the river bank, a huge ocean at the Count’s seaport, where ships coming from other counties come to deliver their goods.

Since he could take something so powerful near humans, he made sure it was far away from where people would roam about it.

Thus he began building, first digging a huge hole in the ground, surrounded by a Wooden wall and placement for the generator to rest on.

It was so big, people from afar could see it being settled into the ocean.

The water wheel was forged and built in such a way that it was tightly counted to the rigs and spaces. The single iron sticking out of the generator was then screwed into the wheel.

Alas, the waterwheel generator was built in three days.
