Reincarnated As A Lion In Another World-Chapter 779: Independent Power
The Freedom Formula, the very thing that Kael had been working on to help out in his quest to break out of the Original Heaven, was complete.
Finally, after two years of nonstop contemplation, and a long string of trials and errors.
It was done.
Sitting on the simple straw mat with his eyes closed, Kael’s vision overlapped with that of his clone.
The clone, still hovering above the world in the sky and far beyond the clouds, remained silent.
His arms were put in front of him as if to hold a baby or a precious object. The golden eyes of the clone reflected Kael’s full control and will.
Placed in his two palms was the condensed semi-visible manifestation of the Freedom Formula.
It was an abstract, almost spherical essence that blossomed in a distinct pattern.
The way it moved and flowed on its own axis was mesmerising and would make one think it was just random movements.
But it wasn’t.
Under the brightness of the sky, Kael looked up at the membrane that had long been preventing him from leaving the cursed world.
The clone had managed to stay hidden here, researching the Freedom Formula on his own.
The likes of Gabriel and Jordan could not disturb or probe because Kael had never told them where his clone was in the first place.
Although they knew that it was out there, they just didn’t try to find it.
Or perhaps, they did and just hid their awareness from Kael.
But Kael would like to believe that they didn’t find the clone because he had been running his stash of Good Luck essence on himself to make sure nothing like that happened.
For whatever reason, it was safe to say that no one knew Kael’s clones were here all this time, and if they knew, they just didn’t want to say anything.
Well, it didn’t matter because Kael now had a new trump card.
Alas, Kael’s schemes were running deep.
How could he let them go at this moment? Now was not the perfect time.
Thinking about this, the clone turned into a streak of golden light that rushed at the membrane.
The membrane that had once acted like steel-laced curtains now behaved like a wall of water.
Kael’s clone easily passed through.
And just like that, the All-King quietly found his path out of the Original Heaven.
No one knew except Kael.
Outside the black hole that acted as the entrance to Original Heaven, something odd happened.
Normally, nothing escapes the gravity of a black hole this large.
But here, a golden streak of light shot out very slowly, gradually accelerating the further it got from the singularity point.
Success.
Back in Original Heaven, at the Observation Lake, Kael opened his eyes.
He didn’t smile, he didn’t talk, he didn’t frown. He just kept a very calm expression.
He did not know that he would succeed so soon, but he also did not expect to take too long either.
He was using Wisdom Essence after all so even he had underestimated himself.
"How’s your training," Daniella asked, seeing now that Kael had opened his eyes.
Kael finally turned to look at her, "Getting better," Kael said.
Daniella was referring to his control over the other Primordial Essences he had.
Because she had been living with Kael and acting as his attendant for the past two years, she had inevitably noticed his training.
Kael couldn’t possibly stop himself from getting stronger just because he wanted to hide some secrets.
Besides, he had told the five Supreme Level Immortal Lion Kings about it. As long as they were linked to his lion system, it was fine
Kael could spare a bit of trust but would never let go of his paranoia. It has kept him alive so far.
Kael brought his hand and flipped it in front of him, allowing his palm to face the sky.
Conquering Essence was conjured in his palm, showering him and the surface of the lake in a majestic golden glow.
Kael had been trying to fuse his Conquering Essence law with other laws and control how he used them.
On a normal level, Kael would just use his Conquering Essence and another Law at the same time to create some kind of effect.
For example, if Kael wanted to use the Law of Swords, he would have to spend both Sword Essence and Conquering Essence.
He was not a sword Primordial, he was a Conquering Primordial using the Law of Swords.
There was a big difference, and this meant that Kael was riddled with weaknesses; he himself had not paid too much attention until the incident with Ruda and the Primordial Cheetah.
Kael had nearly lost Ruda.
Well, technically, she died. But her identity mark was still lit up on the lion’s system and this meant that she was out there somewhere, living her life after a very likely Reincarnation.
But that wasn’t the point.
The point was that in the moment Kael almost lost Ruda, he also almost lost his access to her powers.
Kael had always thought that he could never lose the powers but it seemed he was wrong.
If any of his consorts died, he would literally lose their powers.
Kael had always suspected this but he never actually thought it would be so real.
That his power would depend on others? Kael absolutely could not accept such a thing.
He had to have his own power.
And this logic might as well be applied to the Primordial Subordinates and their League of Primordials.
If a consort died, although very painful and aggravating, they could still be replaced very quickly.
There was a surplus of electric lionesses that had rushed to fill Ruda’s spot.
If not, then Kael did not want to exceed the order of his consorts, he would have accepted it.
Kael kept his consorts’ numbers lean and intentional. He could very well have seven electric lionesses as his consorts so that if one died, he wouldn’t still lose his power.
But there were prices to pay for that kind of setting. Kael had always had plans for his consorts ever since he knew all the Lionhearts.
Those plans required a clean intentional formation that he would not jeopardize unless necessary.
If a consort was to die permanently, he would be fine with replacing them very quickly. It wasn’t hard.
But he would not want to fracture the integrity of their teamwork and their future by adding unnecessary lionesses to his harem.
Acknowledging that there will always be a replacement, even when he did not want to replace them, was enough.
The same could not be said for the Primordials though.
At least, he could replace his consorts, but he could not exactly replace the Primordials Subordinates the same way he could with his consorts.
At least, not as immediately and as efficiently as he would like.
It took ten million years for Elizabeth to be born after the last Primordial Dragon. The amount of time between the death and birth of a Primordial was uncertain.
But Kael did not want to take that chance.
He wanted his own powers, abilities that would belong to him Irrespective of who was his subordinate.
Among the many things that Kael had spent his time doing for the last two years, he had also taken his time to work on himself.
It was why he was no longer in a hurry to do some things like telling the immortals that he had successfully completed the Freedom Formula.
Kael had assessed himself thoroughly and found that he wasn’t really defenseless, just that some of his powers were conditional and dependent on other factors.
Kael’s first ability was the Contracts. They were good for establishing power-sharing relationships with his subordinates and solidifying loyalty.
Then there was the power sharing which was dependent on the contracts. Kael obviously could not share power with everyone.
His lack of tolerance for weakness and his scrutiny over whom he gives contracts to acted as a factor that limited how far Kael was willing to test it out.
Then there were those little abilities that he had created along the way. Dominion Roar, Pride Synergy, Lionhood intoxication, Conquering Mode, Conquering Mode Avatar, and so on. They couldn’t be ignored, but they were dependent on certain conditions to work.
Dominion Roar for example worked by reducing the strength of the enemies by a percentage and boosting the strength of the user and his original allies.
The All-King still had other options.
His system.
With the system, he could control so many things.
The system was his greatest asset yet.
It was greater than his power sharing with the Primordials.
But the system was also dependent on the users.
Kael could imagine a world where he was the only one alive. And his will was the only thing persistent in the essence of everything.
What then would he do with a system? Was his power relational and dependent on the existence of others?
But that was the whole deal of Conquest? What was Conquering if there was nothing to conquer?
The Laws?
What was the point of being the absolute and chasing absolute strength if that strength was dependent on others?
Was Conquest a relational concept? Was conquering a Law that could never be independent of itself?
Kael refused to believe so.
