Reincarnated As A Lion In Another World-Chapter 768: Staying On Track
Kael: They defected?
Marcus: Yes, your Majesty.]
Kael hummed to himself.
This wasn’t a coincidence.
Kael had suspected the owls ever since he knew that they were affiliated with the law of Reincarnation.
From the moment he found them on Eridoria and deciphered their law, he had suspected that there was a link between them and his second chance at life.
Many times, he had heard of how a god of Reincarnation had ascended and exterminated all the other races affiliated with the law.
The owls were still alive.
Not to mention that the monkeys also gave him a clue.
The monkeys came from an era that had no significant news about anyone becoming anything more than immortal.
And their files also showed that there were multiple races affiliated with the law of Reincarnation.
However, in the current era, the owls were the only ones from that list of races to still exist.
Kael didn’t want to think about it too much for now.
[Kael: Let them go, isolate the news, and prevent it from trickling to the masses.
Make it sound like they escaped with a ton of casualties.
Marcus: Yes, Your Majesty.]
Kael looked away from the system screen.
They wanted to rebel at this particular time? Fine.
He wouldn’t forget them, but he could let them go for now.
But he had to make sure others didn’t get the idea that they could leave just like that. That was why he told Marcus to ensure that it looked like they escaped with a lot of casualties.
Leaving the iron grip of the lions shouldn’t be seen as a regular Tuesday activity.
At the same time, Kael also noticed the identity marks of the owls starting to disappear from the Vassal Records.
This was a loss Kael was willing to bear. It was like he had already created a system for them.
The resources that they had allocated to their growth and that arkships gifted to their leaders would be remembered.
In the meantime, Kael focused on the event that had caused everything.
The assassination of his family.
"The cheetah is getting away," Jordan said calmly as he looked at the observation lake.
Indeed, the Primordial Cheetah had seen that he could not fight against the combined might of six immortals so he decided to run away.
With a heavenly beacon that had obviously been smuggled, the Primordial Cheetah successfully escaped.
There was no mark on him, no way to track him. He just left after killing a consort.
This was painful to experience.
Someone had murdered the royal bloodline of the cosmos, and he got away with it.
The second person however.
With the Primordial Cheetah gone, the Primordial Panther who had not even been able to kill anyone was on the receiving end of over ten angry immortal lions.
Kael sent a message, warning them to beware of his heavenly beacon, and then turned away from the observation lake.
He was no longer interested in seeing what was happening.
Watching the scene again the Apex Pyramid and seeing that black sky irritated him.
He felt like breaking something.
"King Alexander," Kael asked.
"All-King," Alexander looked at Kael with his silver gaze. He seems to sense the rising tension around Kael as well as the calmness.
Although all these things had happened, Kael was still able to remain somewhat calm and collected.
He wasn’t going to enter a reactive state and start fast-forwarding his schemes when there was no necessity for it.
"I have some plans and schemes that may or may not work, no promises.
But the chances of them working out are heavily dependent on how much I work together with the lions of this Original Heaven.
I need all the support I can get, and I shall deliver to the best of my ability."
Kael was straightforward, no need to beat around the bush.
Alexander nodded, "As long as you run the plans by us generally," He said.
Kael shrugged his shoulders, "That is expected, but there are some plans that I may withhold for the sake of increasing the succession rate.
I’m just letting you know now, in case you ever feel like I am hiding something."
Alexander frowned, this All-King was really defiant, even though he was acting it out in a polite way.
Before Alexander could say anything, Gabriel spoke up, "If you feel that keeping some information to yourself is the most optimal solution, please, abide by it," He said with a gentle smile.
Alexander looked at him, unmasking his face to show the confusion.
Why should they allow him to have that much autonomy?
Feeling the gaze of the ancient lion, Gabriel explained, "I’m assuming that the All-King did not reach this level of power by explaining to everyone his ideas and schemes.
Besides, he came all the way here to break us out. His fate is aligned with ours."
"We can also point out any mistakes he’s making, if the need arises," Jordan added, scratching his beardless chin as his red eyes scanned the skies.
By now, the Primordial Panther being displayed in the Observation Pool had been chased into the uncompleted ruins of the Apex Pyramid and was now being pounced on by some lions.
His death was certain.
It was made clear the large difference between Kael and the other Primordials.
Kael had battled dozens of immortal cats on his own and defended himself for a while. He did that while still being tier 7.
This Primordial Panther was already an immortal.
How strong would Kael be if he finally became an immortal?
They were yet to find out.
Alexander sighed and agreed. Jordan was right. With five Supreme Level Immortal Lion Kings standing by, Kael could be allowed to do whatever he wanted.
If only they knew just how dangerous that thought was.
"What’s the next item on the list?" Jordan asked playfully, seemingly insensitive about Kael’s loss.
"My consorts," Kael said casually as he rose into the sky with glowing golden eyes.
"What about them?" Azeus asked, looking up at the All-King.
Once Kael had risen far enough, he looked down, observing the lake.
His enhanced vision pierced through the lake. He didn’t find anything extraordinary. He decided to ask about it later.
"I need to think and work on my strength. You’re right, I shouldn’t make any serious moves yet until I am absolutely ready.
But I can’t sit back either..."
Kael looked at Azeus, "Please, I want every lion in Original Heaven linked to the lion system by the end of the week.
Can you assist me with that?"
Azeus’s eyes lit up with orange lightning, "No problem," He agreed.
"Phestus, is it possible for a Law that already has a Primordial to also have an Avatar?" Kael suddenly asked.
All the kings instantly knew what Kael’s intentions were with this question.
"Actually, it is. But only if the Primordial has become a Singularity," Phestus said honestly.
"Oh, interesting," Kael’s eyes dazed and dimmed as he looked into the horizon. He also happened to be a Singularity.
What a devastatingly delightful coincidence.
"And the vassals, we will put them to work immediately. No time for dallying," Kael added.
"They work tirelessly for the glory of the Hegemony already, they should be glad now that their work has meaning to it," Gabriel said.
Kael looked at all the immortals at the observation lake, watching him or the various images in the waters.
His mind drifted to all his schemes.
In the absence of brute force, schemes were what he could rely on.
"Can I set up residency close to this place?" Kael made another request.
This place was a good place to set up residency. He could give his Conquering Mode Avatar a break and allow his Conquering Essence to recover properly as he used the Observation Lake and studied its properties.
Something told him that there was a Primordial involved in the existence of this Primordial Lake.
He wanted to study it.
However, as Kael could see, although there were many immortals here, no pyramids were set up on the shores.
Alexander and the others looked at each other.
"You can, but you’d have to be careful. We can’t leave you here alone," Jordan said.
Surely, there was a troublesome detail they were leaving out.
"I wasn’t planning on staying on my own though," Kael’s eyes flashed with a mysterious light.
"I’ll need some... help," Kael said as casually as possible.
"We were also planning on having you pick out some lions or lionesses to accompany you," Gabriel said with a knowing smile.
"You’re far away from your clan and no kin here, you need some company.
We’ll let you find some company when you are ready," Azeus added.
They were really prepared to spoil Kael and give him what he needed as long as it wasn’t beyond their reason or necessity.
"Don’t worry, I’ll settle for one...for now. I already have someone in mind," Kael said, thinking of a particular celestial lioness that had welcomed him.
Hearing this, everyone paid attention to the All-King, including the drowsy looking matured lady hovering at the side in silence.
Alas, time waited for no one, two years passed in the blink of an eye.
