"Freyah, you’re back."

Gwenette said as soon as she saw the truck parked inside the village. Freyah jumped over the truck, followed by Florence behind.

"Yes, good morning." Freyah greeted with a smile.

Then following behind her were Uncle Thomas’ people.

"Where is Uncle Thomas?" Monica asked as she walked with some sandwiches. She handed one to Freyah and one to Florence. Then started handing as well to the people behind.

"He is at the foot of the mountain. Guarding dangerous survivors. We can’t really let them enter the village." Freyah said and walked ahead. Monica and Freyah followed behind.

"Dangerous fellows?"

"Yes. We decided to create a separate place for those people."

"Like a prison?"

"Yes." Freyah nodded. "Like a prison."

Gwenette sighed.

"Why the long sigh?" Freyah asked.

"It’s a relief that you don’t go around killing people." Gwenette said.

"They are just lucky that Uncle Thomas saw them." Freyah said with a cold smile. "But the moment they do something funny again, I won’t be as merciful as the first time."

"Ate Freyah!" Julie ran towards them followed by Harley. It seemed they just finished their morning training. The twins were also behind them, eating some chips.

"Let’s spar!" Harley said with full of enthusiasm. "We will defeat you this time." Julie nodded in enthusiasm.

"Hey! We never agreed to this!" Cheral said completely surprised.

"I don’t mind." Cherellyn said.

"So enthusiastic early in the morning huh." Freyah smiled at the group of youngsters. "I’ll spar with you all in the afternoon. I’ll go check things for the meantime."

Harley nodded with enthusiasm. "Alright! You’ll be surprise with my new skill, Ate!"

"I’ll look forward to it."

At the Meeting Hall...

"Report,"

Gwenette and Monica looked at each other. "There are 10 new survivors that arrived since you left to Carmen." Gwenette said.

"Four of them were seriously injured but they didn’t get bitten or anything." Eman, followed up. Eman the one Freyah rescued at the airport, after he recovered became one of the chief guards of the village. He was also training time to time with the youngsters.

Florence already went ahead earlier to check the medical station.

"Four of them at once," Freyah thought for a moment. As she remembered the people who she fought with... "Lead me to them."

Freyah nodded her head. They all went to the East side of the Village, where their medical station was built. They entered the house, and Florence was already there doing his healing magic. Freyah walked silently on the side to check their faces. It was not them... But different people covered in bandages and medical herbs. They were lying on a bamboo bed and their hands and feet were tied.

It might look cruel. But it was a safety protocol they created to anyone who got sick or injured. Just in case they didn’t made it, and no one was around to check on them... They didn’t want the risk of them turning into zombies unnoticed then started attacking people out of nowhere especially at night where everyone was mostly sleeping.

Freyah then slowly walked outside of the room... Though the villagers knew basic medical knowledge and uses natural remedies... But Freyah should also look for real doctors. They shouldn’t rely on Florence doing the healing everytime.

"Freyah, do you want to meet the new six survivors?" Gwenette asked, cutting her from her thoughts.

"Yes." Freyah said. They might had some interesting skills or they could be the enemies. "Then bring me some paper and pencil after."

"Ok. I’ll ask Lolo Timothy for that." Monica walked ahead of them.

Gwenette led them to the survivor’s tent, just a few walks from the medical house. As soon as they opened the door to the tent...

"Ate Gwenette," a cheerful voice resounded. It came from a seemingly highschool girl who were still in her teenage years. She was still wearing her P.E uniform.

"Paula, how are you so far?" Gwenette said with a forced smile.

"What is the condition of the people who came with me?" Paula asked.

"At this moment, they will be fine after they receive their treatment," Gwenette said.

Paula sighed. "That’s good to hear. I thought I’ll lost them." She looked down and trembled. "Thank you, truly. For saving us."

Freyah looked at the trembling girl then back at Gwenette.

"Ah... Freyah this is Paula. And Paula this is Ate Freyah. She is our Chief Leader in this village." Gwenette introduced them together.

"Ate Freyah," Paula raised her head. Her expression was nervous and a bit shy. "Thank you for having us in this village..." She said as she raised her hand for a handshake.

Freyah accepted it with a smile... "You are all safe here now. If you need anything, don’t hesitate to seek help from us or the people around here."

"Yes, we will." Paula said.

"Hmm... Are perhaps a tourist?" Freyah asked.

"How did you know?" Paula, asked surprised. "Yes. It’s my accent, isn’t it?"

Freyah nodded her head. "Yes."

"Actually, we are from Manila. When the apocalypse struck, we are currently in a Christmas vacation here on Bohol." Paula said. "I’m even worried. I don’t if my family in Manila is still alive or not."

Freyah looked at her. Her emotions were unreadable. Then she hugged Paula which surprised her.

"Kill her now!"

Paula had a hidden knife behind her. She was itching to pull it out and stabbed Freyah at the moment.

"It must be tough. You will be safe her from now on." Freyah said. Then she released the hug and looked at all the survivors there.

"Welcome to San Roque Village, everyone! Good job on surviving this far." She greeted them all and the rest gave her a weary and tired look. "You will be all safe here. Once you all settled and recover, go to Gwenette and choose tasks that you wanted to do. Once you settled on this village, since we are going to survive together from now on. We also need to work together in order to achieve that, so choose something that you are best at to contribute to the village."

The new survivors nodded their head. Then Freyah sighed inside her mind. At least, the survivors they had this time was less violent or had less retort.

But she could deal well to those who wanted to be lazy... So it was not a problem at all.

"Paula, rest for now. I know, you have been through a lot." Freyah tapped Paula’s shoulders.

Paula simply nodded her head. "Yes, I will."

Freyah, Gwenette and Eman who remained quiet all this time walked back to the meeting hall.

"Here’s the pen and paper," Monica handed what Freyah asked for.

"How’s Lolo Timothy?" Freyah asked. Then she started sketching on the paper.

"He is with your mom and dad, planting in the rice fields." Monica said.

"Those three really..." Freyah sighed. "They should leave that heavy work to the younger people."

"You know them... They just do what they felt like doing and no one could stop them." Gwenette chuckled.

Freyah sighed. Then she kept sketching in the paper. After a few minutes, she was finished. Then she brought out a photo too.

She draw five faces of people plus the photograph. "Scan and print this out." Freyah said.

Gwenette grabbed the paper and looked at the detailed faces of people Freyah drew. "Who are these people?" Freyah’s drawing skill was still as amazing as ever. Then there was a detailed description of their skills down the drawing.

"They are the people who attack us when we went to Harley’s house before. Then they also attack us last night." Freyah said.

"You were attacked last night?" Gwenette was surprised.

"Yes." Freyah nodded her head. "Spread their pictures at every part of the village. Do not let them inside the village and if they saw these people, do not approach and report right away."

"Let me do it." Eman reached for the drawings from Gwenette. Then he immediately ran outside. Now, only the three were left inside the meeting hall.

"There is still something we need to report to you, Freyah." Monica said.

"Hmm... What is it?" Freyah looked at the two.

"It was about Paula." Gwenette started. "Since last night, other than her name, all she have been saying is a lie. Even now, she kept lying."

"So that’s why..." Freyah nodded her head.

"You notice something wrong?" Gwenette asked.

"Yes." Freyah stood up from her seat. "I’ll deal with her. Go and please prepare some food for our healer. So once he finished healing, he could eat right away." Freyah said and walked away.

"Freyah what did you notice about her?"

"Same as you. She is lying." Freyah lied which made Gwenette frowned.

"Well, whatever. Go back before lunch." Gwenette rolled her eyes.

"Yes. I will." Freyah waived her right hand. While her left hand was tucked inside the pocket of her hoodie.

’So it is not a mistake. That kid is really giving a strong killing intent. How nasty.’ Freyah walked ahead back at the survivor’s camp.
