Redemption of a Born Demon-Chapter 50: Crossing the Border, Like a Dragon Returning to the Sea (Part 2)
Yi Beidou fused with the True Intent of the Nameless Sword Lord within the Silent Heart Sword, reviving it within his own body and creating a second personality. He allowed this personality to control his body, learning its Dao and Skill. He even integrated a portion of the Nameless Sword Lord’s Evil Qi into himself, making his own Celestial Demon Evil Qi even more potent.
In a short time, he used this to create the killing move, Destruction Killing Tribulation.
This Technique appeared powerful, but in reality, it was not yet perfected.
The True Intent and Evil Qi of the Nameless Sword Lord were a minor path. Although integrating them into Yi Beidou’s own Celestial Demon Evil Qi strengthened it, it also made his Heart Intent impure.
This was unavoidable.
But now, Yue Ming’s Fist Technique had stimulated the Demon Nature within Yi Beidou, elevating his Heart Intent and giving him control over everything. It was like being tempered in a furnace and hammered on an anvil, purging all impurities.
That surge of Evil Qi was completely assimilated by Yi Beidou, and Destruction Killing Tribulation became purer.
That was why in the final blow, Yi Beidou’s killing intent and Evil Qi were able to affect the body of a Saint Expert like Yue Ming, causing flaws and hindrances to appear in his Dharma Body and catching him off guard, putting him at a disadvantage.
Looking in the direction Yi Beidou had disappeared, Yue Ming then glanced at his own palm, which was still numb from their clash. His expression was uncertain.
He had initially thought Yi Beidou was a newly ascended Saint, arrogant and underestimating the world’s masters. But now, after their exchange, he truly understood the terrifying extent of the man’s strength and talent.
"Reporting, sir. The target shot down our drone with two small stones and has disappeared into the forest. Should we deploy more forces to search for him?"
The walkie-talkie on the tactical clip at Yue Ming’s waist crackled to life with the voice of a Warrior waiting in a helicopter overhead.
"No need. With his strength, if he is determined to go his own way, no one can stop him. Order all border units along his path not to obstruct him. Go back and report this. Notify our undercover assets in Nanyang to keep a close watch on his movements."
Yue Ming said in a low voice.
Although this man was extraordinary, his opponents would be no pushovers either. No one knew what he would encounter.
What’s more, he was all alone, without any support.
Before long, the news reached Wei Cheng’s ears.
He fell silent for a moment, then finally shook his head and sighed. "In the end, this man doesn’t want to get too entangled with us. So be it. People like him have their own paths to walk. Since he’s already made his decision, let him be."
"Have the diplomatic department prepare for any diplomatic disputes that may arise from Nanyang."
...
...
Half a day later, Yi Beidou was traveling at full speed, guided by his Celestial Demon Sensing. With no GPS and no map, he had no idea where he was. He only knew that about an hour ago, he had crossed the Donghua Country Border and was now in a forested area.
Suddenly, he stopped, a pang of hunger striking his stomach.
He had gone to Cloud Prison Mountain, where he’d met and fought Fang Xiuyuan and Tao Zihong, and used Synesthesia to connect with the True Intent in the Silent Heart Sword. Afterward, he had helped Fang Xiuyuan slay the great dragon of Cloud Prison Mountain.
After leaving Cloud Prison Mountain and just returning to Spring City, he had felt a premonition, which led him to the Yunding Grand Hotel to kill five Super Warriors.
Then he had immediately set off for Nanyang, clashing with Yue Ming along the way, and had now been traveling at extreme speed for half a day...
During this time, he had been constantly on the move without a moment’s rest and had barely eaten a proper meal.
Experts who had achieved Body Ascension all had the ability of Fasting. Under normal conditions, by locking in their Physical Ability, they could eat one full meal and not feel hungry for half a month.
But Yi Beidou was different. All the fighting and traveling—even the Physical Ability of a Saintly Body couldn’t sustain that. He was, after all, a creature of flesh and blood. He still needed to eat and couldn’t yet forsake grain to achieve the state of "Eating Qi and Not Dying."
Right now, he needed to replenish his energy with food.
However, he was currently in the middle of nowhere, all alone, with no supplies.
This wasn’t too big of a problem, though.
Yi Beidou’s gaze swept over his surroundings.
A Saint who had achieved Body Ascension was akin to a Wandering Immortal of ancient times, disappearing into the great mountains without a trace. How could such a being be so fragile and easily constrained?
The digestive system of such an existence was incredibly powerful. They could consume roots and tree bark that ordinary people couldn’t, treating them as food. However, the nutritional content was too sparse, requiring them to eat a massive amount. These things also contained too many indigestible components. Relying on them to replenish enough Physical Ability would not only require an enormous quantity, but...
...the scene would likely not be very pleasant.
The next option was the birds and beasts of the forest, along with various fruits, vegetables, and medicinal herbs. With Yi Beidou’s physical constitution, he could grind up and swallow an animal’s bones and organs. If he didn’t care about the taste, he could even eat the raw flesh and drink the blood. His powerful immune system ensured he was virtually immune to infection from parasites and viruses at this level.
This was the terrifying power of a Saintly Body.
However, this was not Yi Beidou’s choice either.
His target was a place with an ample food supply, where he could get what he needed all at once and save himself the trouble.
Having left Donghua and arrived in this lawless, chaotic land rife with conflict and difficult to govern—a breeding ground for sin—for a Celestial Demon, the entire area was a hunting ground.
Here, Yi Beidou could completely unleash his nature and act as he pleased.
His expression flickered. As if sensing something in his heart, he strode off in a particular direction.
「At the same time.」
In the forest, a van bounced and swayed as it drove along a dirt road.
At the end of the road was a small, fortified camp composed of several wooden houses, hidden in the forest. Inside the camp’s fence, armed thugs in plain clothes could be seen moving about, carrying goods.
There appeared to be about twenty or thirty people in total.
When the van reached the camp’s perimeter, it was stopped by armed men. The driver leaned his head out the window and spoke with the guards. After his identity was confirmed, he was allowed to pass.
The van entered the camp’s main yard. A group of fierce-looking men wearing bandanas and carrying guns emerged from the largest wooden house, flanking a smiling, obese, middle-aged man.
"Boss Lagu, the goods have been delivered."
The side door slid open. A skinny, dark-skinned man with a gold tooth spoke with a grin, then personally opened the back doors of the van for the fat, middle-aged man.
WHIMPER! WHIMPER!
Muffled sobs came from inside the van. The gold-toothed man’s so-called "goods" were actually people.
Six people were crammed inside the van—four women and two men. All had their hands and feet bound, and their mouths and eyes were covered.
Some were dressed in suits, while others wore fashionable, revealing clothes that showed large patches of fair skin. Except for one Caucasian woman, the other five all appeared to be of Asian descent.
They hadn’t been captured within Donghua’s borders; they had all been kidnapped in Siam and brought here.
This was a secret "transit station" for all sorts of illegal activities.
When the kidnapped people were brought here, their families would first be contacted for ransom. If the ransom couldn’t be paid, they would be sold off according to their "quality"—some to scam compounds, others elsewhere.
The human body, you could say, was a treasure trove from head to toe.
