Reborn Young Miss: Phoenix Burning Red-Chapter 407: Forever Intertwined (1)
Adrienne settled herself, sinking into a leather couch, while Lennox sat across from her with bourbon in his hand. They were in a private jet Lennox had recently purchased as one of the anniversary gifts he gave to his wife. With Adrienne’s business rapidly growing, her need to travel had become more frequent.
Lennox wanted to ensure she could do so comfortably and conveniently, hence the extravagant private jet purchase. The sleek interior and luxurious furnishings provided a sense of relaxation and indulgence, allowing Adrienne to focus on her work while enjoying the perks of their lavish lifestyle.
"You know, you really don’t need to buy me a jet, Len." Adrienne sighed as she pressed the space before her eyebrows.
The news of her husband splurging to buy her a private jet had immediately become the talk of the town, with friends and acquaintances expressing their envy and admiration. Adrienne couldn’t help but feel gratitude and guilt, knowing that such an extravagant purchase was unnecessary and excessive. However, she also understood Lennox’s desire to ensure her comfort and convenience, especially considering her growing commitments and the frequent travel that came with it.
Lennox brought down his glass, pulled one of her legs up, and rested it on his lap. Adrienne raised an eyebrow at him in question, but he only smiled. She adjusted her seat and smoothed her skirt, allowing her husband to do what he wanted.
"Why do you always refuse my gifts to you, Addie?" Lennox asked, his voice filled with genuine curiosity. "Do you find my gifts insufficient or lacking in some way?"
Adrienne chuckled softly and shook her head. "No, Lennox, it’s not that at all. Your gifts are always thoughtful and generous. It’s just that I don’t want you to feel obligated to shower me with material things constantly. I value our love and companionship above any material possessions."
Adrienne hesitated for a moment, contemplating her response. It hadn’t been Lennox’s first attempt to give her something extravagant. She declined all those, as she didn’t see the point of accepting such lavish gifts. However, she accepted this private jet, knowing Lennox’s concern for her safety and comfort outweighed her reservations about material possessions. She appreciated his gesture and trusted his judgment, even if it meant indulging in a luxury she had never experienced.
"It’s not that I refuse your gifts, Lennox. It’s just that sometimes I struggle to reconcile the extravagance with the world around us. I want to appreciate and enjoy what we have, but I also want to ensure we use our resources responsibly." She added.
Lennox carefully slipped her flat shoe off and allowed it to fall to his feet. He was still in his pristine business suit, as he hadn’t bothered to change before hopping on the plane with her. The slight stubble on his jawline hinted at the long hours he had been working.
"I understand your concerns, love," Lennox replied, gently massaging her tired feet. "But every now and then, we deserve to treat ourselves and experience the finer things in life. It’s about finding a balance between enjoying and being mindful of what we have."
"Are you sure it’s alright to be away for two weeks? Won’t your subordinate have a hard time without you around?" She asked her husband.
"Addie, I don’t need to micromanage everything. " Lennox chuckled. "The team’s going to be fine. I’ve left instructions on what to do, and they know how to reach me if there’s an issue they cannot resolve."
He looked at her face, a small smile curling his lips.
"Are you still worried about leaving Noah, Scarlett, and Sam behind? We could have brought them with us if you wanted to." He asked.
Adrienne shook her head.
"No, Len. This trip is for just the two of us. As much as I like their company, I’ve been missing you. And it’s our anniversary anyway. I don’t think they will mind us having some alone time together." She leaned in and kissed him softly, reassured by his words. "Besides, I think it’s important for them to learn how to handle things independently sometimes. It will help them grow and become more independent."
His thumb dug into her insole, and Adrienne sucked in a sharp breath, feeling the tension release from her body.
She looked up at Lennox, a slight blush creeping on her face. She bit her lip, trying to stop herself from moaning, as her husband continued to massage her foot. Adrienne always knew he had great hands. Hell, it was one of the things she liked most about him, but this felt different.
Lennox’s touch was more deliberate and sensual, igniting a fire within Adrienne that she hadn’t felt in a long time. Her heart pounded as she caught her breath, her body responding to his skillful caress. She met his gaze, her eyes filled with a mixture of desire and uncertainty.
He pulled her other foot onto his lap. His hands traveled upward and worked on the knots in her calves.
Adrienne found herself unable to resist the growing heat that emanated from within. The gentle caress of Lennox’s fingers on her tired feet somehow awakened a dormant desire, igniting a fire that burned deep within her. It had been so long since they had truly connected intimately, lost in the mundane routine of their daily lives. 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖
Her heart pounded in her chest as she caught her breath, her body responding to his skillful caress. She met his gaze, her eyes filled with a mixture of desire and uncertainty.
"Lennox," she whispered, her voice barely audible above the hum of the jet’s engines. "What are you doing?"
A mischievous smirk played on his lips as he leaned in closer, his warm breath tickling her ear.
"I’m just trying to help you relax, my love," he murmured huskily. "I didn’t know you were too tense."
Adrienne’s cheeks flushed a deeper shade of red as she felt the rush of arousal flood through her veins. She had always admired Lennox’s confidence and assertiveness in their intimate moments, but this was a boldness she hadn’t experienced before.
It excited and thrilled her, pushing the boundaries of their usual routine. His fingers danced along the arches of her foot, tracing delicate circles that sent shivers up her spine. He worked his way up, massaging her calf with firm yet gentle strokes.
