Ever since Adrienne returned home from the hospital, she has noticed an obvious change in her husband. It was as if the events surrounding Airi’s death had unlocked his overprotectiveness over her. At first, she found it endearing, but Adrienne was worried the scene would leave Lennox traumatized as the days passed.
No matter how busy Lennox was, he would always make time to give her a call. He also decided to tighten the security in her penthouse and add a few more guards to accompany her and his siblings while they stayed in Jinling.
Lennox also stopped working overtime and brought the documents he needed to review home. When they slept, Adrienne would always feel grateful for Lennox’s protective measures and dedication to their safety. She couldn’t help but admire his commitment to ensuring their well-being, even at the expense of his own personal time and convenience.
It was late at night, and Adrienne couldn’t fall asleep beside her husband. She scooted closer to him, seeking comfort in his presence. She marveled at how lucky she was to have someone like Lennox by her side who always put their safety and well-being above everything else.
"Can’t sleep?" Lennox asked as he played with her long, dark hair strands. Adrienne wasn’t sure if all men liked women with long hair, but she knew Lennox loved to touch her hair. He was careful not to tug too hard, even in the middle of their intimacy, always mindful of her comfort.
"Hmm... I realize I don’t want to return to Chiangshi yet. I want to stay a little longer here with you, but the school is about to resume classes in a few days." She reminded him, her fingertip lightly touching his collarbone and shoulder.
The scar on his neck up to his arm looked uneven. Lennox used to be uncomfortable and conscious when showing it to her. He even made sure his clothes would hide the hideous scars on his body. But now, it seemed like Lennox had grown confident in his skin. He didn’t mind Adrienne’s gaze on his scars anymore. In fact, he relished it, knowing that Adrienne loved him for who he was—scars and all.
"You can stay as long as you want, Adrienne. I can handle the paperwork remotely, and we can enroll the kids in a school here." Lennox replied, his eyes locking with hers.
Adrienne smiled, grateful for Lennox’s flexibility and willingness to accommodate her wishes. She knew it wasn’t easy for him to put his work on hold, but he did it anyway, for her and their children.
"Thank you, Lennox. I really appreciate it." She whispered, leaning in for a kiss.
Their lips met in a soft, slow dance, their tongues tangling and exploring each other’s mouths. Adrienne’s hands roamed over Lennox’s chest, feeling his muscles tense and relax under her touch. She sucked on his lower lip, eliciting a moan from him.
Lennox flipped her over, pressing her back into the mattress. He kissed her neck, nipping and licking the sensitive skin there. His hand slid under her nightgown, cupping her breast and squeezing it gently.
Adrienne gasped, arching her back in pleasure. She loved it when Lennox took charge in bed, showing her his dominant side. It made her feel safe and protected, like he would always be there to take care of her.
Lennox pulled her nightgown off, revealing her naked body to him. He took in the sight of her, his eyes darkening with desire.
Adrienne’s skin was flushed and warm, and she had a faint smile on her lips as she watched Lennox look at her.
"Love you." She told him, her voice soft and sultry. The corner of Lennox’s mouth quirked, and he held her gaze as he trailed kisses down her bare shoulder and neck.
"I love you too, Addie. I’m crazy in love with you." His voice deepened, and his heart raced as he heard Adrienne’s affection.
Adrienne rarely told him she loved him, but whenever she did, it made him feel like he was on top of the world.
As Lennox’s mouth found her breasts, Adrienne felt his hands go up her thighs. Slowly, he pulled her underwear off, discarding it on the floor somewhere near the edge of the bed. He grabbed a condom and put it on, his hands still holding her thighs open.

Adrienne froze for a moment and sighed. She wondered if there was something she could do to convince him that she was never leaving him and that his fear wouldn’t happen.
"You have my word, Lennox. I hope you won’t get bored spending your lifetime with me."
She heard her husband chuckle.
"I could never get bored of you, Addie. You’re my everything," Lennox whispered in her ear, his voice filled with sincerity.
