Chapter 361: A Daughter Who Looks Like You (1)

Adrienne kept herself busy by tending to her husband’s siblings’ needs. Vince was about to be deployed to another mission while his twin brother was about to enter a training camp as Vaughn wanted to pursue a career as a professional esports player. Liam’s flight overseas to participate in his first F1 race was also coming up.

Despite the hectic schedule, Adrienne found fulfillment in supporting their ambitions and dreams. She knew that their sacrifices would be worth it. She knew Lennox also wanted to send them off, but his hectic schedule forbade him from being physically present. However, he showed his support by constantly checking in on them and sending encouraging messages.

Adrienne, with the help of Samantha, made sure that her brothers-in-law’s needs were packed properly, while Noah chose to stick with his older brothers, wanting to spend as much time with them as possible before they departed.

"This would be the first time they have been gone for a long time. I’m worried if they’ll do well on their own." Samantha commented once she zipped up the last suitcase.

"I trust that they’ll be just fine. They’ve always been resourceful and independent," Adrienne reassured her. "Plus, if they encounter an enormous obstacle, they know who to contact for help. We are family now."

Samantha smiled, feeling warmth in her heart. It was different years ago when she needed to scavenge for old things to sell to feed herself while her mother was wasted somewhere. Now, she had older brothers to look up to and a sister-in-law who loved them unconditionally.

Samantha knew that she no longer had to face life’s challenges alone, and she knew her brothers knew this. She used to be wary of them, and her brothers looked wary of each other. Now, her brothers and Scarlett were comfortable around each other, sharing jokes and laughter during family gatherings. She would surely miss them but knew their absence was only temporary.

"How about you, Sam? You are already 18. Do you plan to move after you graduate from high school?" Adrienne asked.

Samantha shook her head. The thought never crossed her mind. It hadn’t been long since she and her siblings returned to the country and lived with Adrienne. She had grown attached to her siblings and couldn’t imagine leaving them so soon.

"No," she answered bashfully. "If it’s alright with you and Nox, I want to stay with you a bit longer. I don’t think I’m ready to move out yet."

Adrienne smiled and patted Samantha’s shoulder. She felt lonely with her husband not around, and having his siblings here to accompany her somewhat lessened her loneliness.

"Of course, you could. I’m sure Noah and Scarlett would feel really sad if you left so soon. They’ve grown fond of you too, Sam, and I don’t mind having you around."

Adrienne’s words brought a sense of relief to Samantha, knowing that she had found a loving and accepting family. She felt a deep gratitude towards Adrienne for her kindness and generosity, and she couldn’t help but smile back at her sister-in-law.

The day of the departure finally arrived, and the family gathered at the airport to bid farewell. Adrienne hugged Vince and Vaughn tightly, reminding them to keep in touch despite the distance. Liam was the last to leave; his excitement was palpable as he looked forward to his first F1 race.

Lennox managed to join them in the nick of time, making his younger brother feel at ease upon seeing him, especially Liam. Lennox promised that he and Adrienne would come to watch his competition in three months.

As the family watched their loved ones disappear through the gates, Samantha felt a pang of sadness in her chest. She would miss them terribly and couldn’t help but feel a sense of emptiness. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦

Adrienne noticed Samantha’s sadness and placed a comforting arm around her shoulder.

"Don’t worry, Sam. They’ll be back before you know it," she said softly.

Samantha nodded, taking solace in Adrienne’s words. She knew that the family’s bond was strong enough to withstand any distance and that they would always be there for each other no matter where they were.

As they made their way back home, Samantha found herself lost in thought. She couldn’t help but think about her own future and what it held for her. She was grateful for the family she had found but couldn’t help but wonder what future awaited her.

Adrienne noticed the change in Samantha’s demeanor and knew she was deep in thought. She was worried that her young sister-in-law was still sad about her brothers’ departure.

"What’s on your mind, Sam?" she asked gently.

Samantha hesitated for a moment before finally speaking.

"I was just thinking that if I wanted to be a lawyer to help you and Nox, I would need to exert more effort on my studies. I do not want to disappoint you."

Sitting in the front passenger seat with his wife and sister, Lennox couldn’t help but comment on his sister’s words.

"Sam, you don’t need to prove anything to me and Addie. Just do what you want in your life, as long as you don’t break laws or hurt others. We’ll support you no matter what." He gave Samantha a reassuring smile, which made her feel more at ease.

"However, if you plan to pursue law, go ahead. It wouldn’t be easy, though. I’m warning you." He added it playfully. "Don’t say I didn’t warn you."

Adrienne nodded in agreement. "Your brother is right, Sam. You don’t have to prove anything to us. We love you just the way you are, and we’ll always support you in your dreams, no matter what they may be."

Samantha felt a warm feeling spread through her chest at his words. She knew that Lennox and Adrienne would always be there to support her, no matter what path she chose in life.

"Thank you," she said softly, grateful for the family she had found.
