Reborn Young Miss: Phoenix Burning Red-Chapter 349: You Are the Only One (2)
As the meeting ended, the Qin family members started to leave one by one. Audrey and Jacob were the last ones to leave, with Audrey giving Adrienne a small smile as she carried her son out of the room. Adrienne couldn’t help but feel a twinge of sadness for her. She knew what it was like to be in a loveless marriage and how difficult it was to appease your husband’s family’s demands.
Once they were alone, Lennox turned to his wife. "I’m sorry you had to endure my family’s interrogation, love. They can be quite overwhelming."
Adrienne shook her head, placing a hand on his cheek. "There is no need to apologize. I’m here for you, always."
Lennox sighed and took her hand, leading her outside, where a limousine and bodyguards were waiting. His grandfather had already retired for the night and wouldn’t be sending them off. The cool night air hit their faces, offering a refreshing respite from the stuffiness of the Qin mansion.
As they entered the car, Adrienne felt Lennox’s hand tighten around hers. She looked up at him, noticing the worry lines on his forehead.
"Is everything alright, Len?"
Lennox hesitated before answering. "I’m just thinking about what my grandfather said. About joining the company again."
Adrienne squeezed his hand reassuringly. "Whatever you decide, I’ll support you. You don’t have to do anything that makes you uncomfortable."
"I know," Lennox said, pulling her in for a hug. "But at the same time, I feel like I have a responsibility to the family. I want to take everything my father used to have. After his death, my aunt Alyssa took over the management of the company temporarily until Jacob was named the CEO. I’m still part of the Qin family, Addie. No matter how hard I tried to distance myself from them," he paused as he considered his next words.
"I also want to know who among them was responsible for my father’s death. If I join Qin Industries, I might be able to find clues or evidence that could lead me to the truth. Additionally, being a part of the company would give me access to resources and connections that could help me find out the truth."
Adrienne pulled back slightly, looking up at him with a determined expression. "You don’t have to prove anything to anyone, Len. You’re already successful in your own right, and your family should be proud of you for that. But if you decide to take on the role, we’ll make it work. But please promise me you’ll be careful. They managed to hurt you before. I don’t want to see you in that miserable state again."
Lennox smiled down at her, feeling a sense of relief wash over him. He knew he had made the right decision by marrying Adrienne. She was his partner in everything.
He wrapped an arm around her, and she snuggled closer to him. "Thank you for today. You handled the Qin family like a pro. I wouldn’t know what to do if you hadn’t come with me," he said, his voice low and husky.
Adrienne chuckled. "I don’t know about that, but I tried my best."
"You always do. And that’s why I love you," Lennox said softly, leaning down to kiss her.
Adrienne closed her eyes and kissed him back, feeling the warmth of his lips on hers. Lennox caressed her cheek, his calloused skin grazing her soft, warm face. He pulled her closer, feeling her soft, plush lips hold his. Their mouths opened, and he felt her tongue glide over his. She tasted sweet and salty like her lips were covered in honey.
When they parted, a small smile spread on Lennox’s face as he looked at his wife’s flushed face. He pressed his forehead against hers and shut his eyes for a moment.
Adrienne went still, not wanting to ruin the moment. Even when she was younger, she didn’t like affectionate touches from others. She didn’t like it when others were too close or invaded her private space. However, when it comes to Lennox, she doesn’t mind his touch at all. In fact, she craved it, and she didn’t mind being close to him.
She wrapped her arms around his neck and hugged him, feeling his strong arms envelope her. She tilted her head up and kissed him again, feeling the passion between them ignite.
Lennox deepened the kiss, his tongue exploring every inch of her mouth, tasting her sweetness. He felt a surge of desire pulse through him as he pulled her onto his lap, feeling her body respond to his touch. He trailed kisses down her neck, feeling her shiver under his touch.
Adrienne moaned softly, feeling the heat between them reach a boiling point. She ran her hands through his hair, pulling him closer to her. She felt his fingers trail down her back, causing sparks to fly through her body. She adjusted her legs and felt his hardness press against her.
Lennox groaned, feeling his control slip away. He wanted her more than anything, and he knew she felt the same way. The limousine’s windows were tinted, giving them a sense of privacy. Lennox broke the kiss, his eyes dark with desire.
"I want you, Addie," he said, his voice low and husky.
Adrienne’s heart raced at his words. She couldn’t believe how much he desired her, even after being married for a few months. She felt her core ache with need, and she knew that she wanted him too. However, she knew it was the right place to fall in love with him.
"No, Len. Please, not here." She gasped as she felt her husband’s kisses on her neck while his hand trailed up to her breast, kneading it through the fabric of her dress.
Adrienne moaned and arched her back, pressing her breasts harder against his hand. She bit her lip, feeling a slow heat build up between her legs.
"You say no, but your body clearly says yes, Addie." Lennox grinned at her. "Fine. Once we’re home, you won’t have a wink of sleep tonight. However, you must kiss me now until I’m tired of it."
As Lennox said those words, he thought it was impossible to happen. Adrienne was like a potent drug to him. She was addictive and irresistible, and he knew that once they were alone, he wouldn’t be able to control himself.
Adrienne laughed and kissed him slowly and gently this time. She wrapped her arms around him and tried her best to ignore the aching between her legs. Once she thought it was enough, she slid off his lap, sat back, and crossed her legs, feeling the wetness between her thighs.
Lennox noticed the way she was looking at him and grinned. "I love it when you’re wet and ready for me, Addie."
Adrienne swallowed, feeling her face grow hot. She looked away, trying to hide her blush. She had never been so uninhibited and forward before. Lennox, on the other hand, was always open and vocal about his desires, and she found it extremely sexy, though she would never admit it to her husband.
"You just met your grandfather and your relatives, and yet you’re already thinking of fooling around with me. My, my, Mr. Qin. You are easily distracted." Adrienne teased him.
"Only with you, Addie," Lennox smirked at his wife. "You are the only one who can make me forget everything else."
