Reborn Young Miss: Phoenix Burning Red-Chapter 343: Everything She Had Ever Wanted
Adrienne woke up in the middle of the night, nestled on her husband’s chest. The sound of his steady heartbeat comforted her as she slowly untangled herself from his embrace. She tiptoed out of the bedroom, careful not to wake him, and went to the kitchen for a glass of water. As she sipped the cool liquid, Adrienne couldn’t help but feel grateful for the peaceful moments she had with her husband, even in the middle of the night.
She looked outside the massive glass window, seeing the moon still in the dark sky. Adrienne couldn’t see the vast sea from where she stood, but she knew it was there, its rhythmic waves crashing against the shore. The moon’s gentle glow illuminated the room, casting a soft, ethereal light that added to the tranquility of the moment.
Adrienne turned twenty-two and married Lennox for the second time three days ago. Contrary to what she had in her previous life, she had an unforgettable wedding in this life, shared with the closest people to her heart. The celebration was filled with laughter, joy, and a sense of new beginnings.
She and Lennox were spending their short honeymoon on a private island where they could escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The island was a paradise, with pristine beaches and crystal-clear waters that stretched as far as the eye could see. They spent their days exploring the island, hand in hand, creating memories that would last a lifetime.
Adrienne stood under the moonlit sky. She couldn’t help but feel grateful for the love and happiness that surrounded her. However, she also knew that things were far from over.
Her father’s second family had to relocate to a smaller Jiang family-owned manor because the Jiang Corporation was on the verge of bankruptcy. It was impossible for her father to recover from this, as well as for her second uncle, who was deep in debt because of his severe gambling addiction.
Adrienne scoffed, thinking she only needed to push the Jiang family to crumble. Even without her intervention, the Jiang family would still suffer their downfall. The weight of their financial troubles and internal conflicts would eventually consume them, leaving them vulnerable and powerless. Adrienne saw this as an opportunity to seize control and exact her revenge for the pain they had caused her.
The next on her list to deal with was the Qin family. There was no doubt that one of the members of the Qin family was responsible for the car accident that took Lennox’s father’s life and caused him to suffer life-altering injuries. She knew that once she and Lennox returned home, they would need to meet the rest of the Qin family.
A pair of strong arms wound around her, startling Adrienne and pulling her out of her trance.
"The sun is yet to rise, Addie. Did you have another nightmare?" whispered a familiar voice in her ear.
Adrienne turned to see the comforting face of her husband. He was stark naked behind her, with only her thin nightclothes covering her body. She melted into his embrace, finding solace in his presence amid the chaos that filled her thoughts.
"I didn’t mean to disturb your sleep," she murmured, her voice filled with regret. "I’ve just been so overwhelmed lately, and I didn’t know how to express it."
Adrienne knew her nightmares would persist, reminding her not to get sidetracked in her quest for revenge. She hoped her husband’s comforting presence would provide some respite from the haunting images that plagued her sleep.
Her husband’s eyes softened as he held her tighter, understanding washing over his face. "It’s okay, Addie," he whispered, pressing a gentle kiss to her forehead. "You don’t have to explain anything to me."
Lennox knew Adrienne’s mind even before their wedding ceremony. She ensured that neither the Jiang family nor Alistair would dare ruin their special day. As the memories of their wedding day flooded back, Lennox couldn’t help but feel a surge of gratitude towards Adrienne. He knew his wife rarely expressed love for him, but Adrienne showed it through her actions.
However, he couldn’t help but worry about her recurring nightmares. Lennox often found himself awake in the middle of the night, comforting Adrienne as she trembled in fear. He wished he could understand the source of her nightmares and help her find peace, but it seemed to be a battle she fought alone, and he could do nothing but hold her at night.
"We’re still on our honeymoon, but your mind is elsewhere, Addie. Is there something on your mind that you’d like to share with me?" Lennox asked, gently squeezing her tight in his embrace. Sometimes, he feared Adrienne would push him away again, shutting him out completely.
Adrienne turned to face him, a small smile spreading across her lips. She wound her arms around Lennox’s neck and drew him closer. Her heart ached, seeing the worry in his eyes. She wanted to reassure him and let him know she was going through a rough patch.
"I’m pretty sure you have everything I have, hubby." She teased him, aware of his body reacting to her touch.
"Do you still doubt me?" She hoped he could distract him and make him forget about his worries about her.
Lennox’s eyes softened as he looked into Adrienne’s eyes. He shook his head, his voice filled with sincerity.
"No, Addie. I don’t doubt you for a second. It’s just that sometimes it feels like you’re carrying a burden alone, and I can’t do anything about it."
"That’s not true, Len." Adrienne shook her head. "You’ve always been there for me, supporting me in every way you can. I may carry the burden, but knowing you are by my side gives me strength and comfort. That’s more than enough for me, Lennox. I wouldn’t ask to be with anyone else but you."
Lennox’s hands then moved to her waist, pulling her closer. Lennox couldn’t stop himself from kissing her. As their lips met, a rush of passion surged between them, erasing any lingering doubts or burdens.
Adrienne lost herself in the kiss, her worries and fears melting away as she gave herself to the moment. Lennox’s touch was electrifying, sending shivers down her spine as their bodies pressed together. She felt safe in his arms, protected from the world outside.
Breaking away from the kiss, Lennox looked deeply into Adrienne’s eyes. "I love you, Addie. No matter what, I’ll always be here for you."
"I know," Adrienne replied as she heaved for breath. She had never been one for sentimentality, but Lennox had a way of getting to her heart. She smiled through tears, feeling blessed to have him by her side.
She leaned in for another kiss, this time filled with more fervor and desire. The moon shone brightly, illuminating their passion as they lost themselves in each other’s embrace. The world around them seemed to fade away as they focused on each other. 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎
As they broke the kiss, Adrienne’s body tingled with desire as Lennox’s hands roamed her body. Her mind, consumed with thoughts of revenge and family troubles, was now wholly focused on her husband.
Lennox was the only one who managed to evoke unfamiliar feelings from her. He made her feel alive in ways she never thought possible. Every touch and every kiss ignited a fire within her that she couldn’t ignore. She had never experienced such intensity and connection with anyone else before Lennox entered her life.
He pressed her back against the wall, his body pinning hers. She moaned into his mouth as his hands slid down to her thighs, lifting her to wrap her legs around his waist. Adrienne could feel his erection pressing against her core, causing her to gasp for air.
Lennox pulled back, looking at her with dark eyes.
"I want you, Addie," he growled, his hands gripping her hips tightly.
No matter how often they made love, Lennox couldn’t have enough of her. Her scent, touch, and body always drove him wild with desire. He needed her like the air he breathed, unable to resist the magnetic pull between them. The intensity in his eyes matched the fire that burned within him, aching to consume her completely.
Adrienne nodded, her heart pounding in her chest. She felt a surge of excitement run through her body at his words. She was his, completely and utterly. She had never experienced a love so passionate and all-consuming before.
Lennox carried her towards their bedroom, not breaking the intense eye contact they shared. He gently placed her on the bed, his hands roaming her body as he stripped her of her clothes. Adrienne’s heart raced with anticipation.
Their bodies joined with a passion that only two people in love could share. They moved together in a rhythm that was both primal and intimate. Adrienne felt like she was floating, lost in the sensation of Lennox’s body moving against hers.
As they reached their peak, their bodies writhing in pleasure, Adrienne knew without a doubt that she had made the right choice by marrying Lennox. He had proven to be everything she dreamed of and more. Everything she had ever wanted.
She couldn’t think of anything but him. Because of the pleasure and passion he brought out in her, her mind appeared to shut down. Adrienne gave herself to the moment, savoring every touch and every kiss.
As the haze cleared, she looked at Lennox with an expression of contentment. Her husband smiled at her and kissed her cheek before pulling her closer. She knew that once they returned, she would need to face her enemies again, but for now, nothing else mattered but the love and connection she shared with Lennox.
