Chapter 273: I Don’t Want to Leave You (1)

Lennox’s home was unusually buzzing with people moving around. His siblings were scheduled to arrive that day, and Adrienne had already made the preparations, making sure their rooms were ready with fresh linens and their favorite snacks in the kitchen. Lennox knew it would be a nightmare for him if it weren’t for his wife’s help.

It was the weekend, and Lennox had just finished his meeting and decided to find his wife. He couldn’t see her anywhere and decided to check if she was also in her new study and working. Lennox then found her reviewing the designs she still needed to finish. He picked up one of her sketchbooks and flipped through the pages, impressed by how detailed each shoe design was.

Most of the shoes in Purple Cloud’s collection were low-heeled and flat, which offered comfort and style. There were also some pairs dedicated to wide-foot customers and pairs of slip-on shoes designed for older people. Adrienne was also working with a few podiatrists for consultations on the shoe designs.

He couldn’t help but feel a sense of pride knowing that Adrienne’s commitment to her craft was evident in her designs and the collaborations she sought with podiatrists. It was clear that she wanted to ensure that her shoes looked stylish and provided maximum comfort and support for all types of customers.

Lennox admired his wife’s talent for combining fashion and practicality in her designs. As he continued flipping through the sketchbook, he saw her dedication and passion for her work. Adrienne was on the phone and glanced at him curiously. He smiled at her and gestured for her to continue with her call.

"What’s the matter?" Adrienne asked once she was done with her phone call.

Lennox shook his head and smiled.

"I was just curious what you were up to." He replied, "How come there are only little designs for males and kids?"

"Purple Cloud started with careerwomen in mind," Adrienne explained. "I wanted to create a brand that empowers women in the workplace. However, I’ve been considering expanding our line to include more designs for males and kids. It’s just a matter of finding the right balance between our target audience and potential new customers."

"Is the funding the issue then?"

"No. Financing isn’t the problem, but we have to do extensive research and several market analyses to ensure that there is demand for our products among males and kids. We also need to consider the production and distribution logistics for these new target groups. We need to maintain the quality and reputation of Purple Cloud while exploring new opportunities."

Lennox was impressed by how knowledgeable his wife was. She wouldn’t blindly do something without fully understanding the potential risks and challenges involved.

"I see." He hummed and took a seat across from her. "I’m not knowledgeable enough when it comes to footwear, but if it comes to procuring new products and business plans, you know you can ask me for help, right?"

Adrienne nodded but didn’t think she would need his help anytime soon. She wasn’t aiming for Purple Cloud to be as big as Huayi. It was enough for her to be able to run a successful business that she was passionate about. She appreciated her husband’s offer but wanted to prove to herself and others that she could succeed on her own terms.

Adrienne glanced at the clock in her study, seeing that it was five in the afternoon. She couldn’t wait to see her husband’s siblings after three years. She distracted herself by doing some work, but it seemed time was moving at a snail’s pace.

"Are you still worried about Noah?" Her husband asked, "Don’t worry. Liam assured me he’s fit to travel now."

Lennox was aware that Adrienne was worried about his youngest brother. He understood her concern, especially since Noah had been dealing with health issues.

"I know." Adrienne sighed. "I couldn’t help but worry since it has been a while since we’ve seen each other. Do you think they still like me?"

Lennox let out a chuckle and placed the sketchbook he was holding down.

"Addie, you should know by now that my siblings adore you. They’ve always spoken highly of you and are excited to see you again. Liam wouldn’t have assured me if he didn’t think Noah was ready for the trip. So, don’t stress yourself out too much."

Adrienne sighed in relief and leaned back in her chair, grateful for her husband’s reassuring words. She knew that Lennox was right and that she had nothing to worry about, but the thought of not being liked by his siblings anymore still made her feel a little uneasy.

As she sat there, lost in thought, she didn’t notice Lennox approaching her until he stood right before her. He leaned down and gently kissed her lips, making her heart skip a beat.

"Stop worrying so much," he whispered against her lips, "Everything will be fine."

Just then, Irina knocked on the door, informing the couple of the arrival of Lennox’s siblings. Adrienne quickly got up from her chair and smoothed out her dress, feeling slightly nervous. She took a deep breath and followed Lennox out of her study, eager to meet his siblings again.

Adrienne could hear excited chatter and laughter coming from the other side as they approached the front door. She felt a smile spread across her face as she realized how much she had missed them.

"Where’s Addie? Is it true she lives here with us now?" She heard Noah’s familiar voice.

Adrienne had just descended from the stairs with Lennox when a young boy ran inside their home. Noah, who was now seven years old, was now a bundle of energy and excitement. He had grown so much since Adrienne last saw him, and she couldn’t help but feel a surge of joy at his presence.

The boy’s face lit up, and he immediately ran towards her to hug her.

"Addie!"

"Addie is here?" Adrienne could hear Scarlett’s voice from the outside. She and Samantha quickly followed Noah and saw their eldest brother and her new sister-in-law waiting for them.

"Hello, Scarlett. Samantha." Adrienne greeted them with a smile.

Adrienne received a warm hug from her sisters-in-law as they entered the house. She couldn’t help but feel overwhelmed with happiness at the sight of them. Scarlett and Samantha had grown more beautiful and mature since she last saw them.

"It’s so good to see you all again," Adrienne said, her voice filled with genuine joy.

"We missed you too, Addie," Samantha said, returning the gesture.

"Hey, give Addie a break." Liam appeared with Vaughn beside him. "You should have greeted Nox first." He frowned at his younger siblings.

Adrienne gave Liam a good look. In just three years, she could see that the second child of the Qin family had grown into a confident and protective young man. She smiled at him, appreciating his loyalty to Nox.

"You’ve become quite the responsible older brother, Liam," she remarked, proud of his growth.

Liam looked flustered at the sudden compliment he received from their new sister-in-law. Vaughn laughed beside him and patted his shoulder.

"Don’t be so modest, Liam," Vaughn teased. "Adrienne is right; you’ve stepped up and cared for us like a true older brother."

"Don’t speak such nonsense." Liam’s cheeks turned a shade of pink as he tried to hide his embarrassment.

The rest of his siblings laughed, knowing Liam could not easily accept praise.
