Reborn Young Miss: Phoenix Burning Red-Chapter 220: Forever Maybe (2)
Adrienne rarely started her day with breakfast in the past. Even after her rebirth, her appetite hadn’t improved a bit, and she could only finish a small serving Mother Wang made for her. However, when she moved to the Zhao family estate, her grandmother would always make sure she had eaten enough before leaving the dining table; hence, not only did she gain weight and build some muscles, but she also noticed an increase in her energy levels throughout the day.
When she got out of the shower, she was surprised to see a breakfast waiting for her at the dining table. Whenever she was here in Jinling City, Adrienne would always eat outside and never bother her bodyguards to prepare a meal for her. She was slightly startled when she saw her husband in the kitchen, wiping the counters clean.
"You made this for me?" She blinked as she took a seat, seeing a plate filled with several foods. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee filled the air, enticing her senses even more.
The aroma of the sausages made Adrienne’s mouth water. The scent of pancakes and toast tickled her nostrils. The scrambled eggs were full of smells that made Adrienne want to dig right in.
"Why are you surprised? Do you think all businessmen like me can’t even do a simple meal for themselves?" Lennox chuckled and joined her at the table.
Adrienne looked at him with astonishment. He was an executive of a large company, but she had never seen him take the time to cook before. It was a pleasant surprise and made her appreciate him even more.
"I just didn’t expect you to know how to cook. You don’t seem like someone who knows their way around the kitchen. You never mentioned you picked a hobby whenever you called me." Adrienne admitted it then started eating.
Lennox smiled and took a bite of the meal he had prepared. "Well, appearances can be deceiving," he replied. "I actually enjoy cooking in my free time. It’s a great way for me to unwind and express my creativity outside of the business world."
Adrienne nodded, impressed by his hidden talent. She realized that there was much more to him than she had initially thought.
As they sat together, enjoying the delicious meal, she couldn’t help but appreciate his effort to make her morning a little brighter. They ate their breakfast in comfortable silence, enjoying each other’s company. Neither of them wanted to break the spell of the morning, and both were content with just being together.
Suddenly, Adrienne shifted on her seat and flinched, which Lennox didn’t miss seeing.
Lennox observed her worriedly and then asked, "Are you in pain?"
The thought that he was responsible for her pain immediately made him feel guilty. When he thought about what they did last night, Lennox scolded himself for not holding back. He should have known Adrienne would be in discomfort since it was her first time.
He even saw a spot of blood on the bedding when Adrienne went to the bathroom to clean up last night. Lennox’s concern grew as he realized the extent of Adrienne’s discomfort, and he promised to be more careful and considerate in the future.
Adrienne’s face flushed as his question reminded her how eager she had been last night. She was worried that Lennox would find it suspicious that she was familiar with bed activities despite claiming it was her first time.
She quickly composed herself and replied, "No, I’m just a little sore. It’s normal, right?"
Though she wasn’t as innocent as many young brides were, Adrienne still felt the soreness on her lower body and could not help but grumble inwardly. Her husband might have looked cold and indifferent before everyone, but he was a different person in bed. His passion and intensity took her by surprise, leaving her physically drained. Although Adrienne thought she could bear it, she also felt a little overwhelmed by his eagerness.
Lennox let out a sigh of relief when he heard her answer. He didn’t want to cause her any discomfort, but at the same time, he couldn’t help but feel proud that he was the one who showed her the pleasures of intimacy.
He wondered what else he could do to make her change her mind and not divorce him after their contract ended. After all, Lennox wanted this marriage to last.
He nodded, his eyes softening. "Yes, it’s normal. But you should have told me earlier. I could have taken it slower," he said, his voice gentle.
Adrienne shook her head. "No, it’s okay. I wanted it just as much as you did," she said, a small smile tugging at the corner of her lips.
Lennox leaned forward, his eyes darkening with desire. "Then let’s have some more of it," he whispered before capturing her lips in a searing kiss.
Adrienne moaned into the kiss, feeling her soreness dissipate as Lennox’s hands roamed over her body. She felt herself getting wet with desire, forgetting all about the unfinished breakfast left on the table.
Lennox pulled away, his breathing heavy. "Let’s go to bed," he said, his voice low and husky.
Adrienne nodded eagerly, standing up from her seat as Lennox took her hand and led her back to their now-shared bedroom. As they undressed each other, Adrienne marveled at how Lennox could be so gentle and yet so passionate at the same time.
The rest of the day passed in a blur of lovemaking and pleasure, with Lennox taking care of Adrienne’s soreness before delving into another round of passion. Adrienne knew then that she was lucky to have a husband who not only loved her but also knew how to take care of her needs.
At the end of the day, she lay in Lennox’s arms, her heart and body completely sated. She sighed contentedly, feeling happy and thankful for finding a husband like Lennox. It was then that she knew that no matter what happened with their contract, Lennox would always have a special spot in her heart.
