Reborn With A Technology System In A Fantasy World-Chapter 112: Safe Adrian
Chapter 112: Safe Adrian
The possibility ran through Karl’s mind, but he quickly reined it in.
’Focus, Karl. You’re here to find Adrian, not chase his friend.’
Still, the confirmation sent a thrill through him, and he couldn’t help but smile as they continued walking.

The quiet park was a hidden gem within the Academy, tucked behind a cluster of flowering bushes that glowed with faint magical residue.
A single stone bench sat at its center, surrounded by a vibrant garden of luminescent flowers and soft, mossy grass.
The air was cool and the distant hum of the Academy’s training grounds was barely audible, making the spot feel like a private sanctuary.
Karl led Serena through a narrow path lined with glowing vines, stopping as they reached the clearing.
"Here we are," he said, gesturing to the serene scene with a proud smile.
Serena stepped past a bush and her eyes widened as she took in the view.
"This is beautiful," she said, her voice soft with awe.
She turned in a slow circle, admiring the way the sunlight filtered through the oaks, casting dappled patterns on the ground.
Karl tried to lean casually against the air, nearly stumbling before catching himself.
"I know, right?" he said, recovering with a grin. "It’s my secret place. I come here to cultivate sometimes."
He remembered the day he had stumbled upon it, wandering the Academy’s sprawling grounds in search of a quiet spot.
The solitude had drawn him in, and it had become his refuge ever since.
"That’s nice," Serena said, settling onto the sole bench there.
"We have a place like this in the Mage section, but it’s always crowded with gossipy Mages. I always avoid going there."
She tilted her head, her silver-blonde hair catching the light. "How come it’s just the two of us here?"
Karl rubbed the back of his neck and his cheeks flushed slightly.
"Well, I don’t ever see anyone here. Maybe they’re not aware of this place."
"Lucky us, then." She leaned back and said. "You wanted to ask me about Adrian."
Karl’s eyes widened. He hadn’t mentioned his purpose yet, but she had zeroed in on it effortlessly.
"Wait, how did you know?" he asked in surprise.
Serena smiled, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.
"Adrian’s mentioned you before as his roommate, Karl. It’s normal you would be worried about him disappearing for a week."
Karl blinked, a warmth spreading through him at the thought of Adrian talking about him. A smile crept onto his face as he sat beside her on the bench.
"So, do you happen to know where he went? You two are close, after all."
Serena sighed and her expression turned serious.
"He didn’t tell me much before he left either."
She hesitated, considering whether to mention the Communicator. Her friends knew about it, and they weren’t even as close to Adrian as Karl was.
She decided it was safe. "But we’ve been talking these past few days. He wasn’t specific about where he is, but he said it’s important and he might be gone for a while."
Karl frowned in confusion.
’Talking? But he’s far from the Academy. How’s that possible?’ He struggled to find the right words, not wanting to sound like he doubted her. "Uhh..."
Serena laughed at his behavior. "You’re so funny," she said, her eyes sparkling. Karl blushed, taking it as a compliment, but she continued,
"We communicate with something he gave me called a Communicator. I just activate it, and he does the same from wherever he is. It usually has a range limit, but Adrian gave me an upgraded one before he left."
Karl’s jaw dropped. "Woah! A device that lets you talk from far away? That’s insane!" His mind raced with the possibilities of such an invention. "Can we call him now?"
Serena shook her head, a hint of regret in her smile. "Unfortunately, I don’t have it with me. I don’t carry it around all the time."
"Oh, that’s sad," Karl said, his shoulders slumping slightly.
"I can bring it tomorrow if you want," Serena offered. "Maybe we can meet here at 6:00 PM? I’ll be free then."
Karl’s mind spun. Tomorrow? 6:00 PM? Just the two of us? Is this... a date? His heart raced as he imagined getting ready.
’No, no, focus, Karl. This is about Adrian, not... whatever this is.’
But his thoughts drifted to preparations. ’I have to take a bath this time. No way I’m showing up smelling like this again.’
He nodded, forcing his focus back. "Yeah, that works. 6:00 PM, here. Thanks, Serena."
She stood, brushing off her robes. "Well, I’ve got some studying to do, so I should get going."
Karl jumped to his feet too.
"It was great talking to you."
"You too," Serena replied with a warm smile. They stood in silence for a moment, and Karl noticed her outstretched hands.
"Oh, sorry!" he said, fumbling to hand over the cauldron. "I could, uh, escort you to your section if you want."
"Really? That would be nice."
Karl grinned, waving it off. "It’s nothing."
They started walking, the conversation flowing easily. Karl seized the chance to learn more about her, asking about her childhood, her time in the Mage section, anything to keep her talking.
Her laughter was infectious, and he found himself relaxing into his usual self, the nervousness fading as they chatted.
When they reached the Mage section, its towering dorms and bustling cafeteria loomed ahead. Serena stopped, turning to Karl.
"I’ll need to take the cauldron now," she said. "There’s an unspoken rule that no Knights are allowed past this point. You could get in trouble."
Karl glanced at the vibrant buildings, then handed over the cauldron with care.
"I understand. No problem."
They exchanged goodbyes, confirming their meeting tomorrow. Just before turning to leave, Karl paused and said with a serious expression.
"The place Adrian’s at... I hope he’s not in any danger."
Serena’s smile softened. "I was worried too, but he told me he’s safe. I’m sure he’s doing just fine."
Karl nodded, waving one last time before heading back toward the Knight section.

~KABOOM! KABOOM! KABOOM!~
The ground erupted in a series of cataclysmic explosions, the air quaking with raw power as Adrian rolled to his feet, his body a blur of motion.
He executed the Phantom Flow Technique, weaving through the blasts with a speed that defied human limits.
Even without the Power Suit, his mastery had grown exponentially and his movements were closer to the suit’s enhanced agility.
His clothes were in tatters, torn and scorched from the relentless battle and his hair was a ruffled mess streaked with dirt.
Scars and blood marred his skin, evidence of the hour-long fight against his most formidable foe yet.
~BOOM! BOOOM! ~
Another series of explosion rocked the ground, but Adrian’s eyes glowed a piercing blue and he activated his new sensory skill, [Omnisense].
The ability sharpened his perception, letting him detect the mana signatures and sounds of each impending detonation.
He dodged masterfully, his body twisting and leaping through the chaos, each movement precise despite the apocalyptic onslaught.
This beast was unlike anything he’d faced. For nearly an hour, Adrian had been on the defensive, a stark contrast to his usual role as the one unleashing explosions.

Adrian gritted his teeth, his body aching but his resolve unbroken.
This Magma Sovereign was the final obstacle standing between him and the mana source.
He had already slain thirty-one 5-Star Magical Beasts, and each kill had brought him closer to his goal with the red dot on his System map pulsing brighter with every step.
Now, only this beast remained, its molten form radiating heat that warped the air around it.
