Chapter 76: Mission Complete: Teenager Date with Husband!

[You have successfully completed your quest: Have a Teenager-Style Date with Your HUSBAND!]

[You have earned a total of $20,000 as your reward, Host! Congratulations!]

It was such a huge achievement. Who would’ve thought I could earn that much money just by going on a teenage-style date with a handsome man like my husband?

It sounded like a total win-win situation, and honestly, if people knew something like this existed, they’d probably lose their minds—especially in the middle of a massive inflation—because they didn’t get the money-making system.

"Didn’t you say you wanted to buy some new clothes?" Lando asked as we stepped into the elevator, heading down to the ground floor.

I leaned against the elevator wall, watching the numbers slowly change above us. "It’s been a long day. You’ll probably get tired if you have to wait for me to shop for clothes."

Whenever I went shopping for clothes or anything else, it always took me forever. So I worried he’d get bored and exhausted waiting around for me.

For a second, I even thought about letting him go home first and taking a taxi later, but that just felt too rude.

"I don’t mind," Lando said. "We still have plenty of time before the mall closes."

When I checked my watch, it was only seven in the evening, and the mall wouldn’t close until ten.

"Are you sure?" I asked. "It’s going to take a while."

"I’m fine," he replied calmly.

Hearing that, I couldn’t help but smile brightly. "Okay!"

Honestly, I hadn’t bought much clothing lately, so I planned to fill up my wardrobe today. Besides, Vivienne was supposed to transfer my payment tonight anyway, so I wasn’t too worried about money.

However, something started to bother me. Every time I finished choosing my clothes in a store and walked up to the cashier, Lando was already sitting beside the cashier. He was waiting, and handing his card to the cashier before I even put my things on the counter.

I thought it would only happen once. But one after another, in every store, he paid for everything again and again! Even when ... even when I was buying underwear!

"Stop spending your money on me!" I scolded him as we stepped out of yet another boutique. "I can pay for my own things!"

Lando didn’t even flinch as he replied, "It doesn’t matter." Then, he added simply, "I just want to pay for you."

"Why?" I asked, half frustrated, half flustered.

"Because you’re my wife," he replied, a little too quickly. "What kind of man lets his wife pay for her own shopping?"

I pressed my lips together, my face heating up instantly. I hid behind my hands, mumbling, "You ... you don’t have to do this."

"But I want to," he said softly.

Alright, that was it.

Game over.

This Young Master was way too cute for his own good. If I stayed near him any longer, my heart might actually explode.

Besides, I was already carrying six shopping bags, and I didn’t think I could hold any more. I even put two on Lando’s lap to help me out.

"L-let’s just go home," I said quietly. "I’ve already shopped too much today."

Also, I didn’t want him to spend too much money on me in just one day.

[Your total spending today doesn’t even reach 1% of his net worth.]

’I know!’ I snapped at Penny. ’But that doesn’t mean I want to dig for gold like some shameless freeloader! I haven’t even given him anything in return!’

He’d probably end up paying for something that I actually wanted to buy for him.

Oh, wait, I know!

Once Lando got into the car, I turned to him and said, "Can you wait for me for a minute? I forgot to buy one thing. I promise it won’t take long."

"Okay," he said simply.

Before he could suggest I use his card again, I bolted back into the mall and bought something I knew he would use very often.

[Deducting $120 from Host’s balance.]

[Remaining Balance: $155,795]

I came back to the car about fifteen minutes later, holding a small shopping box in my hands. With a bright smile, I handed it to Lando.

"Here," I said. "It’s for you."

He looked a little confused. "A gift?" His brows furrowed slightly. "But it’s not my birthday."

I quickly waved my hands. "Birthdays aren’t the only time to give presents! We can give gifts whenever we want!" I said, my voice full of excitement. "Go on, open it!"

Lando finally lifted the lid of the box and pulled out a navy-blue tie. The fabric was soft and smooth, catching the light just enough to show how elegant it was.

"Do you like it?" I asked nervously. "You don’t have to wear it if you don’t."

"I like it," Lando said softly. Then he looked up at me with a small, genuine smile. "I really like it. Thank you, Helcia."

For a moment, I just stared at him, speechless. His smile was gentle, but it made my heart race in a way I couldn’t quite explain.

"I’m glad to hear that," I said softly.

Today’s date honestly felt like a dream, one of those warm, hazy ones you never want to wake up from. I wasn’t even sure if it really counted as a date or just us spending time together, but either way, I enjoyed it with all my heart.

Unlike most men, Lando didn’t even try to invite me to a hotel or his house—oh, right, we already lived in the same house! So technically, he didn’t even invite me into his room.

When we got back to the manor, he simply asked the maids to carry my shopping bags into my bedroom. Then he turned to me and said, "Thank you for today, Helcia."

He gave a small smile and added, "I have something I need to finish, so ... see you tomorrow. Good night."

He probably had some work waiting for him in his office since, on the way home, he kept checking his emails and even took a few calls from his secretary.

I waved at him as we went our separate ways, smiling brightly. "Good night."
