Chapter 159: Husband, Kiss Me First

Author’s POV

"You will not take her anywhere," Lando snapped, his voice like ice. "Touch her again, and I’ll break your arm."

Lando wanted to do more than just give a warning. He wanted to punch Kai so hard that his jaw would pop out of place. But no matter how much he wanted to do that, keeping Helcia safe was the most important thing right now.

There were too many people watching them, and causing a scene would only hurt her reputation later.

"Good night, brother." Lando tightened his hold on Helcia’s waist and turned around, taking his sweet wife out of the grill bar.

The fight between the Brixton brothers ended too fast, making a few people sigh in disappointment. They really thought the brothers would go all out and spill blood, but in the end, it was just a short, boring argument.

"Young Master, I can carry Young Madam," Mr. Micho offered.

Lando shook his head. "It’s fine. Just open the door for us."

The last thing he wanted was for anyone else to touch Helcia again. From the way she clung to his shirt even though she was half-conscious, he knew she didn’t want to leave his side at all.

Lando and Helcia waited in front of the bar entrance while Mr. Micho immediately brought the car and stopped it right in front of them.

"Helcia, are you okay?" Lando gently brushed her cheek with his fingers several times. His wife leaned into him, resting her head on his shoulder once they sat inside the car.

Her breathing was heavy, and suddenly he heard her let out a small sob. "Scare..."

"You’re scared?" Lando wrapped his arms around Helcia, hugging her so tightly it was as if he wanted her to melt into his body. "It’s alright... I’m here. There’s nothing you need to be afraid of."

Helcia took a few deep breaths, smelling Lando’s perfume, which somehow helped calm her heart for a little while.

When they reached the mansion, Lando lifted Helcia into his arms. She was still half-conscious, and there was a good chance she wouldn’t remember anything in the morning.

Because of that, Lando didn’t need to pretend he wasn’t able to walk on his own feet at all.

No, he didn’t lie about his condition. He really did experience an accident years ago and ended up in a wheelchair for a long time.

However, about a year and a half ago, the doctors told him he could finally walk again without any help. And in the last six months, his legs had gotten even stronger, strong enough to carry something heavy, like his own wife.

The reason he didn’t want to reveal this to the public yet was simple: it was safer this way. At least his family wouldn’t see him as a threat anymore, and they would leave him alone.

However, who would have thought that his bastard brother would actually make a move on his wife? In the end, his family would never allow him to live in peace.

"Young Master, what happened?" Henry asked in a panic the moment he saw Helcia’s face bright red, as if she had been drugged.

Lando didn’t want to bother explaining the situation and immediately said, "Call Dr. Mina. This is urgent, so ask her to come here in less than one hour."

Henry didn’t ask any more questions. He moved quickly and even sent a taxi to Dr. Mina’s address so she could leave right away.

Meanwhile, Lando—who was supposed to be only "a little" panicked (in truth, he was extremely panicked)—accidentally carried his wife into his own bedroom. He only realized it when he gently placed Helcia on top of his bed.

He thought about taking her back out, but she had already hugged the pillow beside her and looked like she had claimed the bed for herself.

Lando let out a soft sigh, then sat beside her. "Alright, you can sleep here tonight." He reached out, brushed the hair covering her face, and then gently stroked her forehead.

Helcia slowly opened her eyes halfway as she felt his gentle touch. "Lando..." Her eyes were filled with tears, either because she wanted to cry or because of the drug she had consumed earlier.

"Yes, I’m here." Lando bent down and placed his ear close to his wife so he could hear her more clearly. "Do you need something?"

"I... don’t know." Helcia looked like she was halfway between awake and asleep, but at least her voice sounded clearer than before. "My body... feels weird." She reached for his sleeve and gripped it tightly. "Husband, I... I’m afraid. I’m sorry."

Lando held her hand gently. "Why are you apologizing?"

"Because I... I went with your brother." Helcia let out a small whine. "I cheated on you."

At this point, Lando believed his wife had lost her senses. She couldn’t even tell which things were real and which were only in her imagination.

"You didn’t cheat on me, my wife." Lando gently caressed her cheek. "You only went to eat with your coworkers. That’s all."

"Really?" Helcia finally managed to open her eyes fully, allowing her to look at Lando clearly. "I didn’t cheat on you."

"Really." Lando smiled softly, trying to calm her. "My wife is very loyal to me."

Helcia mumbled softly, "Then... can you give me a kiss? For being a good wife?"

Lando blinked several times, not expecting her to say something like that at all. "You’re drunk, my wife. You can’t ask someone to kiss you when you’re not fully aware of what you want."

"I want it." Helcia moved closer to him, inch by inch, until she curled herself around his arm. "I really want you... to kiss me first. All this time... it was only me who kissed you. Is it because... you hate my lips? Am I not pretty enough for you?"

Lando almost choked on air because his wife went from barely being able to speak clearly to making such a mean accusation toward him.
