Chapter 328: Chapter 328: Godfery Shaw Fainted

Nancy Allen had been waiting in Godfery Shaw’s room for a long time, an unusually long time, and the sound of water in the bathroom had not stopped.

The anxiety in her heart transformed into worry.

What happened to Godfery Shaw? Why hasn’t he come out yet?

Nancy couldn’t help stepping forward and knocking on the bathroom door.

The bathroom was silent, which was very strange.

If Godfery Shaw was in the bathroom, it shouldn’t be so quiet and silent.

Nancy forced herself to call out, "Godfery Shaw, are you in there?"

There was still no response from the bathroom, only the sound of water.

Nancy’s expression changed, casting aside any reservations, she directly used a key to open the bathroom door.

Then she saw Godfery Shaw fainted in the bathroom.

He had only taken off his coat, leaning against the ground of the shower, the wet white shirt clinging to his body, and having no idea how long he had been under the water, his face and lips were pale, yet possessing a kind of handsome devastation like a beautiful flower on a high peak.

One can’t help but sigh, some people, even when fainting, look better than others.

Of course, at this moment, Nancy couldn’t care less, her first action was to turn off the water.

She hoarsely shouted urgently, "Godfery Shaw, wake up quickly!"

Her call couldn’t wake him up, panicking, she reached out to push aside the wet hair on Godfery Shaw’s forehead, gently patting his face, with water droplets sliding down his face, drip by drip.

"Godfery Shaw, don’t scare me, what happened to you?" Nancy bent down, trying to support Godfery Shaw, but her body was too weak, with Godfery’s height at 1.9 meters, she couldn’t lift him, ending up soaking much of her clothes instead.

Nancy grabbed a dry towel, wrapping Godfery Shaw, turned pale as she was about to leave to call for help downstairs.

Just as she turned around, her hand was suddenly grasped.

Nancy turned her head sharply, exclaiming, "Godfery Shaw, you finally woke up, what happened to you? Where are you feeling unwell? How did you faint, I’ll call a doctor..." 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖

Godfery’s deep eyes seemed to be drenched by water, looking intently at Nancy as he spoke, "Your throat hasn’t healed, don’t speak so loudly."

Nancy felt a surge of heartache beyond words. Godfery Shaw fainted in the bathroom, if she hadn’t come back early, in the absence of others being able to come upstairs, Godfery might have been in danger. Yet, his first words upon waking were about her.

Nancy went to support Godfery, lowering her voice softly, "Alright, I won’t speak loudly. Godfery Shaw, I’ll call Basil Smith back."

Godfery leaned on Nancy to get up, speaking softly, "No need, it’s just a bit of low blood sugar, some food, and resting is all I need."

Nancy supported Godfery Shaw out of the shower, sitting him down on the bathroom stool, whispering in his ear, "Then hurry and change out of your wet clothes."

Nancy found a clean robe and handed it to Godfery Shaw.

Godfery obediently went to unbutton his shirt, but whether it was because the shirt was wet, or because Godfery Shaw was too weak at this moment, he tried several times without being able to undo the collar button.

Nancy couldn’t stand to watch anymore and bent over to help Godfery unbutton.

Godfery just looked at her with deep eyes.

As the buttons were undone one by one, Nancy began to feel uneasy, attempting to turn away several times, yet couldn’t bear to leave such a weak Godfery unattended.

Just when Nancy was considering using scissors to cut it open, she finished unbuttoning all of them, starting to remove Godfery’s shirt.

The saturated shirt stuck against the skin inevitably touched Godfery’s skin, so improper, Nancy’s face flushed red; she hadn’t expected that a usually composed and imperturbable man would be quite... enticing when weak.

It makes one want to strip his clothes off.

And she was doing just that; in her nervousness, she touched his chest and waist, before stuffing the robe into Godfery’s hands, fleeing out the door like a startled rabbit.

Nancy rushed out the door, taking deep breaths, she went downstairs to the kitchen to make a glass of sugar water, then returned quickly.

Upon going upstairs, she found the bathroom door open, and a dressed Godfery Shaw was coming out from the bathroom. Nancy put down the sugar water in her hand, quickly went up to support Godfery.

She helped him to the bedside, then handed the sugar water to him.

Nancy said softly, "You’re hypoglycemic, drink a glass of sugar water first, I’ll contact Basil Smith afterwards to see if medication is needed."

After saying this, Nancy naturally found a hairdryer to dry Godfery’s hair.

Godfery had taken care of her many times, this was the first time she was taking care of Godfery.

His soft short hair danced around her fingertips, Nancy thought his hair felt very nice, and instinctively gave Godfery’s head a gentle rub.

The hand Godfery held the sugar water with trembled slightly, after finishing the drink he said, "No need to contact Basil Smith, he’s in charge of the company’s matters now, my health issues are managed by another doctor, I’ll have my doctor come tomorrow, I’m just hungry now."

"I’ll ask Joyce to cook something for you."

"I want to eat what you make."

Godfery’s voice was gentle, like murmuring, almost getting drowned by the sound of the hairdryer.

But Nancy heard it, feeling extremely conflicted.

Because of that bracelet, she hurried back overnight in tension, yet Godfery didn’t mention a word about it.

Why did he faint? What is he thinking now?

Nancy couldn’t guess, nor dared to ask.

Nancy stayed silent for a moment, speaking softly, "Okay, I’ll go cook for you later."

Nancy could cook; during those years at the Wright family, being treated like a servant, she had to rely on herself for many things in life.

After drying Godfery’s hair, Nancy went downstairs to cook.

After Nancy left the room, the feeble demeanor of Godfery disappeared, replaced by rage.

Julius Shaw’s sinister voice said, "Brother, do you want to drag me to die with you?"

Godfery’s voice was like it had been soaked in cold water, icy as he replied, "I said, let her choose on her own, and yet you dared to threaten her."

A pause.

Julius’s tone was more venomous, "Brother, you said we have nothing to do with each other! As long as I don’t harm Nancy, you won’t interfere with what I do, what happens to others, whether they live or die, doesn’t matter, right? Are you jealous of Nancy wearing my Ruby and intending to give me a bracelet?"

"Ha, threat is also a form of harm, I won’t allow anyone to harm her, including you and me."

The split of Godfery Shaw’s persona became more severe, because Nancy firmly believed that they were two different people.

Now this split had reached a level where neither could fully perceive what the other was doing.

Godfery realized the threat Julius posed to Nancy about the bracelet only when he got it.

His fainting in the bathroom wasn’t due to low blood sugar but as a warning to Julius.

He would rather die, letting both souls within this body perish together, than allow Julius to threaten Nancy.

He knew Nancy cared about her parents, her recognized family, and children.

Julius was different, Julius was a mad sickly... he was born for Nancy, nothing else in the world mattered, he only had eyes for Nancy.

Unexpectedly, perhaps just this once, Godfery was more ruthless and decisive than Julius.

After a long silence in the room.

Julius’s sinister voice said, "Fine, I won’t threaten her anymore. Brother, she will choose me, when she does, I’ll applaud as I watch you disappear. Between us, if only one remains, it will surely be me!"

"I look forward to what happens next, but now she’s here to see me, so you disappear."

"Ha!"
