Reborn Heiress: Seeking Revenge-Chapter 545 Looking for Faults (1)_1
Shangguan You’s eyes flickered for a moment. What a captivating individual. No wonder he’s surrounded by beauties in the Hidden World Village. This Bai Muxue, he truly draws attention wherever he goes.
They showed up here, and I could figure it out without even thinking—it must have been those five women who informed them.
"Miss Shangguan, we meet again." A somewhat deep voice arose, and then another silhouette entered Shangguan You’s line of sight—an icy face with an equally cold voice that held not a trace of warmth.
Ye Min?
"Heh heh, since we’ve all run into each other, let’s do this together. My treat tonight, so please, don’t stand on ceremony." Shangguan You nodded towards the crowd. With so many people showing up here, she didn’t need to guess to figure out what was going on. Ye Min, however, was an exception.
"Since that’s the case, I won’t stand on ceremony."
"As newcomers, it’s only right we accept your kind offer."
"Let’s go." Shangguan You nodded, taking Lin Wenjie’s arm. She had no intention of introducing him to them—it was best to avoid trouble with these Hidden World Village people if possible. She didn’t want to bring any problems to the Lin Family.
The original thirteen people, now joined by Zhuge Feng, Bai Muxue, Fang Jianfei, Li Zhaolei, and Ye Min, brought the group’s total to eighteen. Lin Wenjie’s BMW certainly couldn’t fit everyone. Moreover, Shangguan You didn’t know if these people had cars or even if they could drive. So, to be on the safe side, they left Lin Wenjie’s BMW at the school entrance, and the group hailed five taxis from there, heading straight to the Chaoyang Hotel.
Chen Xu, Yang Xiu, Liu Zili, and Duan Yingyan were quite well-known within the university and were used to grand occasions. But compared to Shangguan You and her companions, the four of them felt distinctly uncomfortable, especially in the presence of the people from the Hidden World Village. Though the newcomers appeared handsome and ordinary, they radiated an intimidating aura that overwhelmed the four students, making it hard for them to even join the conversation.
Duan Yingyan had initially disliked Shangguan You and wanted to make a few sarcastic remarks. However, in front of these newcomers, she didn’t dare utter a word. A profound fear of them had taken root deep in her heart. The four students discreetly followed behind everyone else.
It wasn’t just the four students who found it difficult; Lin Wenjie, Yu Zijin, and Gui Luo weren’t much better off. They too were accustomed to grand scenes, having witnessed events even more magnificent than this. Yet, ever since meeting these individuals from the Hidden World Village, a mysterious pressure had weighed heavily on their minds, making it impossible to relax. They could only listen as Shangguan You and Zhuge Feng conversed.
Lin Wenjie let Shangguan You hold his arm, beads of sweat trickling down his forehead. He didn’t understand why, but the air suddenly felt stifling, making him inexplicably nervous. He hadn’t even felt this oppressed when facing Elder Lin.
"Brother Wenjie, take this." Shangguan You sensed Lin Wenjie’s tension and gave him a medicinal pill to swallow. A warm current spread through his body, and the oppressive feeling he’d experienced gradually dissipated.
「Chaoyang Hotel, a club for the young elites of Beijing.」
The manager spotted Yu Zijin and quickly came forward to greet them, personally escorting the group to a VIP private room. A large dining table, capable of seating twenty, dominated the magnificently decorated room. As everyone took their seats, exquisite dishes, perfect in color, aroma, and taste, were already being served.
Shangguan You sat with Lin Wenjie to her left and Yu Zijin to her right, followed by Gui Luo, then the four Beijing First University students. Next to Lin Wenjie sat Zhuge Feng, Zhuge Yao, Bai Muxue, Bai Qiangwei, Fang Jianfei, Fang Jianyu, Li Zhaolei, Li Zhaohong, Ye An Ya, and Ye Min.
Lin Wenjie was momentarily surprised by the seating arrangement but quickly understood. It seems each pair, one man and one woman, indicates they’re from the same lineage.
"On an occasion like this, how can we not have wine? Youyou, surely you wouldn’t begrudge us a good bottle, would you?" Bai Muxue chuckled softly, clearly pleased with the dishes on the table.
"Naturally! With such good food, how could there be no good wine?" Lin Wenjie chimed in, instructing the waiter to bring three bottles of ’82 Lafite.
"Brother Muxue, you’re joking. A few bottles of wine are nothing; drink as much as you like," Shangguan You said with a faint smile, her gaze sweeping over Ye An Ya and Ye Min. Ye Min might look healthy, but from his appearance, there’s no Spiritual Energy in his body. He’s just an ordinary person right now. What purpose could Young Master Ye have in sending someone like him here?
"Alright then! In that case, this first toast is to you. You’ll have to look after me and Rose a bit more. You know, we’re far from home, so we’re really counting on your care," Bai Muxue said, lifting his glass. His words carried a hint of playful melancholy as he drained his wine in one gulp.
"Heh heh, Brother Muxue, you’re quite the joker. With your good looks and Sister Rose’s beauty, who would dare bully either of you? Claiming to be far from home, aren’t you afraid everyone here will laugh their heads off?" Shangguan You said with an amused smile, looking at Bai Muxue with a playful glint in her eyes. That scoundrel! He manages the security for the entire Hidden World Village, and he has the nerve to say such things!
"Youyou, let me drink that. You’re not well; you should drink less." Lin Wenjie took the glass from her and downed it in one go, adding, "Youyou isn’t well, so I’m drinking her share." He grew even more curious about the identities of everyone present and wondered how on earth Youyou had gotten to know them.
"Excellent! Very sporting of you. In that case, allow me to toast Young Master Lin as well," Li Zhaolei said. As Lin Wenjie put down his glass, both Li Zhaolei and Ye Min rose to offer him a toast.
At the dining table, Shangguan You ate her food slowly, largely uninterested in the men’s drinking culture. However, Ye An Ya’s occasional venomous glances and her otherwise motionless demeanor did pique her interest.
She even felt a flicker of excitement. Beyond its reputation as a high-class establishment, she truly didn’t understand Ye An Ya’s purpose in coming to the Chaoyang Hotel. Still, the food here was certainly beyond reproach.
At the table, Yang Xiu and Chen Xu, who had been somewhat subdued earlier, began to loosen up. They joined the other men in round after round of toasts, while Liu Zili and Duan Yingyan kept their heads down, quietly eating their meal.
