"You know..." he started in a suggestive voice, "there is a way that we could handle Evelyn's matter without alarming the enemy."

Phoebe looked skeptical.

David held out his hand. "Before you say no first listen to my suggestion. You have the ability to make love potions, the kind that can flip someone's switch and make them turn their affections elsewhere. If we feed Evelyn a love potion and she breaks up with Enigma on her own, nobody will raise an eyebrow." He lowered his hand and picked up another ginger cookie. "Evelyn is well known for having a short relationship life span."

Phoebe was still skeptical.

David could see that she was still in need of convincing, so he elaborated on his idea. "Arrow is not dating anyone as far as I know. If we redirect Evelyn's feelings from Enigma to Arrow, he can have a reason to go in and out of her family home and figure out why she was targeted. They must be after something her family owns in the same way they were after the crystals under the Saxon tower."

"This part I can understand, but I am not sure that Arrow will agree to take part in our scheme. Evelyn has been kissing a demon; he would not touch her with a ten-foot pole."

"We don't need him to fall in love with her or be affectionate, we just need him to figure out what her family owns that the demons want. Enigma is not dating Evelyn because he is in love and come on....." David spread his arms out. "We both know that Evelyn is not truly in love with him."

Phoebe could see his reasoning, but she decided that she would talk to Rekha, Maureen and her grandmother first to see what they thought. They changed the subject, having their meal while discussing the things for the baby that they had not yet bought.

David was determined to talk about something romance related and so they did. After breakfast, they made their way downstairs where the rest of the family was waiting all ready to go to the founding council headquarters for the trial of the traitors.

"Good morning, everyone." Phoebe greeted in a joyful voice. It was a happy day_one on which those that sided with Ravana were going to get the punishment that they deserved.

"You are cheerful, did you rest well?" Her mother asked.

Phoebe nodded. She pretended that she could not see the look on her mother's face which was dissatisfaction with her choice of outfit. She was putting on denim overalls with a tight white shirt.

"Where is your jacket?" Jennie asked her.

Phoebe yawned first and she pointed to David. He was holding the jacket.

"Honey it is freezing outside. You need warmer clothes; you look like you are ready for summer."

"Because I am." Phoebe replied and again, she yawned. freewēbnoveℓ.com

Jennie took the furry thick white jacket and made Phoebe wear it. Her goals were both achieved, Phoebe was warm, and the overalls were covered up.

They drove out in the minivan--all of them opting for a single car. On the way to the council headquarters, they shared their thoughts on what they thought was going to happen.

"Definitely prison time, even though they have lawyers none of them is going to be placed under house arrest. Their crimes are too serious for soft punishments." Grandma Mayfair gave her opinion to which most people agreed.

"I think they might be banished from the founding families." Collin lent his voice to the matter.

Everyone also agreed with him.

"It amazes me that banishment is a thing in your founding families. Ever since I became one of you, realize your families are still stuck in the old century." Luna said.

She had been around for so long that nobody bothered to remind her that she was technically not one of them.

"Rules are rules babe." Luke said.

Rekha was quiet, which was unlike her. Phoebe figured that it was because her biological family was involved so she stretched her hand out and squeezed Rekha's fingers. "Are you worried about your grandmother?" She asked.

Rekha was a tough cookie on the outside but as soft as butter on the inside.

"Pheebs, I only have one grandmother, and she seems just fine to me." Rekha's gaze roamed allover grandma Mayfair then she turned them to Edward and Jennie. "Uncle Edward and aunt Jennie, thank you for giving me a family, you do not know what that means to me." Her lips trembled out, moisture pooling in her eyes.

Smiling warmly, Edward shook his head. "If anyone is lucky, it is us. The Montgomery's do not know that they lost a gem." He told her.

"And if you call him uncle and me aunt instead of father and mother one more time and I will spank you child. Ask Andre." Jennie threw in, making them laugh. "On a serious note, I am glad that a beautiful, smart and intelligent girl like you is my daughter, I only wish that we adopted you much earlier." She rubbed her chest which felt tight, tears rolled down her cheeks.

"Better late than never, right mother?" Rekha gazed ruefully at her.

Nodding, Jennie buried her head in her husband's chest. If they could find her father-in-law Cillian and Phoebe and Shanna would have their babies safely. And there would be no supernatural war, she would be a satisfied woman.

"So, what happens to the banished families?" Luna asked.

The old conversation was picked up from where it stopped until they came to the council headquarters. The entire area was surrounded with extra security on this day. Extra shields had been put around the building, there were checks within checks to ensure that no demons or monsters sneaked inside. Council enforcers were watching from everywhere from the roof to the ground.

Their presence put everyone on tension. They were even afraid to blink, worried that the masked witches and warlocks would exterminate them. All the people that were arriving were silent, afraid to talk or whisper, worried that anything they said could be taken to mean something else.

The Mayfair's wasted no time to enter the hall; the air was so tense that even the walls seemed to hold their breath. Even the ghosts that haunted the council headquarters were silent. They understood the gravity of the matter at hand. Phoebe recalled that the last time she was there, she was the one that was being tried. It was nice to be a spectator in this trial.

As they found their seats, they acknowledged their friends with gentle nods of their heads and stiff smiles.

Amidst the silence, Dorothy Cook stood up to address the families in attendance.

"I told you all that witches lived among us and they were harming us. Do you see it now? I was right and you were all wrong so fuck you!!" She held out a middle finger, laughing hysterically because she had had the last laugh.

Her actions set off a myriad of whispers in the hall, and despite everyone being told to keep their phones away, some were recording what looked like a meltdown.

Grandma Mayfair turned head back and said loudly, "Really bitch! the history of all our founding families is rooted in magic. Everyone here has a witch or two in their family. Some of us are students at the Moldove...."

Dorthy turned the middle finger to old lady Mayfair, cutting her off. "Oh fuck you Rebecca, what would the academy need with an old loudmouth gossip like you? Are you trying to pick a leaf from Margaret and find yourself a new younger boy toy over there?"

"Oh hell no." Luna jumped up and Luke grabbed her by the waist.

"Calm down Luna." he hissed.

Maureen leaped over her chair meanwhile and took Dorothy down.

The quiet hall was suddenly chaotic, and Sarah Miller was glad for once that she was not the one throwing fists in public.
