Chapter 80: Beg her

"What are your plans for the Lunar Ball?" Ryan asked Amelia, encouraged by his brothers, who urged him to go and ask her to be his partner.

Amelia, busy with arranging her notes, looked at him briefly. π‘“π‘Ÿβ„―π˜¦π“Œπ˜¦π˜£π‘›π‘œπ“‹π‘’π“.𝑐ℴ𝓂

"What plans should I have? Professor Kinsley arranged the invitation for me, and I am attending. He thinks this is a great chance for me to mingle with the higher-ups, and he can show me around as his pupil," Amelia answered before she grabbed her bag and walked out of the classroom.

Ryan followed her.

He didn’t say anything and followed her until they reached the canteen.

He suddenly thought of asking her for the dance, at least when he saw Alpha Killian standing at the entrance, and knew nothing good would come out of it.

Not wanting any confrontation that would ruin her mood, he was about to distract her, but his plans got ruined when Killian called out for Amelia.

"I need your help, Amelia," Killian said.

Amelia stopped and raised her brows, tilting her head, waiting for him to speak up.

The man looked at Ryan, wondering if he would leave. However, Ryan didn’t budge from his position.

Killian sighed.

"My mother’s situation is worsening. The medications you had suggested last time ended a couple of days ago. I asked for your father’s help and he wrote a decoction but..." He didn’t need to say more.

Amelia knew what happened.

Hannah had been persistent about a particular medicine for his mother.

She remembered something similar from her past life.

At that time, she opposed her because she knew that kind of medicine was temporary and wouldn’t cure anything in the long run.

However, she had faced a significant backlash from Killian because he thought she was deliberately opposing Hannah. He had gone as far as threatening her that he would strangle her to death if anything happened to his mother.

"And? I don’t remember when I was responsible for your mother’s help. I am not in the healer’s community," Amelia said.

Killian, who was sure that the girl wouldn’t neglect her duties as the healer at least, stood frozen in his place.

This was not what he thought things would be like.

"I will go to the Lunar Ball with you if you help my mother," He said.

Amelia paused.

Ryan’s heart skipped a beat. He knew about her history of affection towards Alpha Killian, and thus, the thought that she might accept his proposal made his heart ache.

He looked at Amelia in anticipation.

Amelia smirked.

"I won’t go to the Lunar Ball with you even if you pay me," She scoffed.

She tried to walk again, but Killian held her hand, burning the mark on her hand, and she felt repulsive inside out.

She jerked her hand away, looking at him like he was filth.

"How many times do I need to clarify to you that I don’t want to have anything to do with you, Alpha Killian? I respect your position, but don’t put me in a place where I don’t," Amelia said.

Seeing the girl leaving when he really needed her help, Alpha Killian hurriedly got in front of her.

"Please, Amelia. I am sorry, okay? I won’t touch you without your permission. Just come and look at my mother. Don’t you healers take that kind of oath? I know you haven’t taken that oath yet, but you call yourself a proud healer," Killian said.

Amelia stood in her place when she saw Hannah walking towards them from a distance.

The expression on her face changed significantly.

"Beg me," She said.

Her eyes were focused on Hannah, who was busy on her phone with a smile.

"Excuse me?" Killian asked, stupefied.

Even Ryan was shocked by her choice of words. After all, they believed she was some kind of good Samaritan who helped people without wanting anything in return.

He looked Killian up and down.

The man must’ve wronged her beyond her limits for a girl like Amelia to say such words.

"You heard me," Amelia returned to Killian’s eyes.

She tilted her head.

How could she forget how she had begged him to believe her in her last life so he could allow her to treat his mother?

She wanted to earn those good points in his heart, and for that, she sacrificed her self-respect over time.

And she did that for that woman, who woke up and chose Hannah as the first thing she saw.

Since Hannah was the kind of daughter-in-law she wanted, that woman had even used her positivity as leverage, trapping her in a false case of heirloom theft.

Killian’s mother accused her of stealing their ancestral necklace, which was worth millions.

She remembered spending those nights in the cell with the cruellest criminals until Hannah’s grace proved her innocent.

A well-calculated move, she must say.

Killian still couldn’t believe what Amelia was saying. He didn’t move.

Amelia shrugged.

"I thought you were serious about your mother getting treated," she said as she walked past him.

Killian was left frozen in his place.

He looked at the back of the girl and noticed how she had caught the gaze of so many alphas as soon as she entered, the triplet alphas being the most prominent ones who hovered around her like honey bees protecting their hive.

"You were so cool back there," Ryan said.

Amelia’s demeanor changed as soon as she sat on the table and blushed.

Ryan looked at her face and couldn’t help but think she was hard to predict. It was getting hard to read her.

She was becoming so mysterious that it both intrigued and scared her.

Amelia extended her hand to pop a dry in her mouth when she noticed that her mark, which used to burn with a golden or blue color, was a weird shade of violet today.

She deliberately pulled up her sleeve, looking at her friends to see if anyone could see the mark, glow, and call out to her.

Unsurprisingly, no one reacted to her glowing mark, and she pulled down her sleeve.

So it was only her.

Kyle, who was watching her from the terrace of another building, took a sip from the blood bag he had stolen from the hospital yet again, a smirk appearing on his lips.

"That was super hot, my love. I must give you that. Regarding that old woman, is she bothering you? Is Killian using that old woman as leverage to talk to you? Ummm... don’t worry, sweetheart. I’ll deal with it," Kyle scoffed before jumping from the railing and walking away.
