Reborn for Revenge: Find her Fated Alpha-Chapter 69: Alexia’s death
The sky had turned an ominous shade of gray as Cyrus took her to the quiet healers’ community.
Amelia sat beside him, her hands folded on her lap as her heart skipped a beat nervously at the familiar roads, the familiar houses, and then the familiar faces. She knew what they were here for.
She knew what his words had meant when he said he would bring justice to her. And King Valentino never made empty promises.
She wasn’t worried about Alexia anymore. She just dreaded the hatred she would see in her father’s eyes once more when someone from the healers’ community would suffer because of her.
Her father won’t even try to get to the bottom of the matter. He would just pass his judgment on her, that she was the culprit, just like he always had, just like he blamed her mother’s death on her.
As their car stopped before the familiar house, Cyrus stepped out first when Fabian opened the door for him. He wasn’t clad in royal silk, but black attire, as if ready to wreak havoc, prepared to fight for his family.
Silence hung over everyone as soon as they felt the domineering presence of one person they feared and didn’t dare mess with. His aura was suffocating, and more than that, what scared everyone was his eyes.
He carried death like his very shadow as he walked around the car and opened the door for Amelia, a gesture that took even Fabian off guard, who was ready to open the door for their Princess.
Amelia stepped out of the car, her head held high despite the anxiousness she was feeling.
And then...the murmurs around them began.
"Why did the King come here?"
"Well, he is somehow related to Thames and brought Amelia."
"No. His eyes are different. The beast is angry. But why?"
"The king never liked healers. Is he here to cause trouble for us?"
"But isn’t she looking healthy with him?"
Not many people knew that King Cyrus married Amelia. It was a closed ceremony that only a few elders knew about to prevent the word from spreading.
The murmurs soon turned into gasps of horror when they saw a couple of people bringing Alexia to the centre of the healers’ community near the meeting hall.
Cyrus had already informed his team to go beforehand and ensure Alexia and her family didn’t flee the area.
They didn’t deserve to after what they tried with Amelia.
Alexia was thrown on the ground, her face pale, tears rolling down her cheeks, her dilated pupils a clear indication that the girl didn’t know what was happening to her.
"Why are you doing this to me? Is it because I am a healer?!" Alexia shrieked, recognising the royal guards.
"This–" Cyrus started, not delaying the drama, and Alexia looked up in utter shock.
"--- is Alexia Norman, the daughter of one of the healers, a student of the royal University, and a royal traitor," Cyrus announced, his words earning various gasps.
Even the elders were shocked at his words.
"What is that supposed to mean, King Cyrus? How did she go against the royalty?" The elders asked, but seeing fury in Cyrus’s eyes, they saw a signal.
This was a signal that if they didn’t want everyone to know about the matter and become a disgrace, they should send away children and people who didn’t know of his relationship with Amelia.
The people were forced to leave, and around thirty people circled the girl on the ground.
"Alexia here planned an assault on my wife, drugged her, and tried to ruin her reputation by offering her to the rogues herself. For entertainment, for a video she could later use to humiliate her further." Cyrus said, his gaze hardened as he said the last sentence.
Alexia spat the blood in her mouth and scoffed.
"She is a whore in a Queen’s outfit. Does she deserve any real respect? Why should I respect her? She was our slave before she married the highness. Does she make her above us?" Alexia seethed.
Her parents gasped at her words and wanted to rush forward to place their hands on her mouth.
Had the girl lost her mind and forgotten who she was speaking to before?
Cyrus’s jaws ticked. He didn’t say anything.
He just walked to her, his strides slow, but powerful, promising nothing good.
Amelia stepped forward when she saw her family arriving at the scene.
Aunt Jessica and Thames stood there, their gazes hard as they saw what was happening.
"Mr. Valentino–" She started but stopped when he turned to her briefly.
In that moment, he wasn’t the beast or the future King of the werewolves.
He was her husband, who was here to seek justice for her, and she couldn’t bring herself to stop him anymore.
Cyrus knelt on his ankles before Alexia, looking straight into her eyes. "You touched what was mine," he whispered.
He grabbed her by the throat with one hand and lifted her effortlessly. Alexia gasped and gagged, kicking her feet as she was lifted off the ground.
She thrashed helplessly, more tears rolling down her cheeks.
Many protested. The elders tried to reason with him that it wouldn’t happen again and that the girl wouldn’t dare touch Amelia. Thames tried to intervene and remind him of the peace treaty, but nothing mattered in that moment.
Cyrus’s guards immediately stepped forward, their swords drawn as they dared anyone actually to step forward to stop the king.
None dared. No one moved.
"You touched someone I have started to trust. And no one is allowed to break my trust," Cyrus whispered to the girl before he twisted his hand.
The chilling sound of something cracking echoed in the air, and Alexia’s whimpers and feet kicking stopped suddenly.
Cyrus let go of her throat, and her lifeless body fell to the ground with a loud thud.
Silence. Everyone looked at the scene wide-eyed, trying to digest what had happened.
The silence was too suffocating before someone finally moved.
Alexia’s mother screamed in horror.
"Alexia!" She wailed in agony at the death of her daughter.
Cyrus, however, unfazed, took a deep breath.
"I may hate your kind. But I have a duty to my wife. And if any of you, your kids or your neighbour kids, I don’t care, thought of touching her again, plotting against her, or worse, disgracing her, treating her any less than mine— you’ll join her," Cyrus’s threat was clear.
Without glancing at anyone, he walked to Amelia, who was still frozen in her place.
She wasn’t shocked because of what Cyrus did. She was shocked by what he said.
She felt protected. The warmth engulfing her heart was nothing like she had ever felt before, and in that moment, she looked at Cyrus like he was her hero.
Cyrus, who thought she was shocked by the death, cupped her cheeks.
"Do you think I am a monster too?" He asked.
Amelia gulped before shaking her head.
"Good. Let them think I am a monster. I’ll be one if that’s what it will take to keep you safe,"
Amelia’s cheeks turned red at the weird thought that appeared in her head, and Cyrus narrowed his eyes at her bizarre expression.
However, he didn’t ask her anything before the crowd.
"Let’s go home," He said, and Amelia nodded.
And with that, they left the healers’ ground soaked in blood and warning.
