Kaden grinned from ear to ear. 50 stats was a huge deal and all he had to do was take a few bites. This was awesome. He continued to sift through the notifications when he noticed that it was not all good news.

[Ding! Your bloodline has been further mutated]

[Ding! Your bloodline had become extremely unstable]

[Ding! Quest Updated: Bloodline Evolution II]

[Your body has forcibly assimilated the essence of a foreign, high-tier entity. This process is incomplete. Your bloodline is extremely unstable. Absorb an energy-rich catalyst to stabilize the bloodline. Time is limited, and failure to do so will result in death. Remaining time: 10 days]

Kaden’s smile immediately disappeared. Wait, he was supposed to find a bloodline-stabilizing catalyst within 10 days? Where the hell was he supposed to find something like that in 10 days?

"Wait, can I just puke it out all?" Kaden chuckled wryly. He sighed and shook it off. There was no need to panic. There was no need to get anxious. He was already working with a date of execution. The only difference was now it had been preponed.

He knew he should probably be more worried and stressed but after everything he went through, he could only laugh. He was overstepping at every turn because he needed to do that to gain the unimaginable power he was after.

And sometimes the step he was taking was bound to be a landmine. There was simply no way around it.

"Bloodline catalyst or something else to stabilize my bloodline… hmmm… a system shop perhaps would be the best solution." Kaden thought about it for a moment before proceeding to the next notification. It looked like he had leveled up a couple of times by just eating but there were more notifications.

[Ding! You have leveled up]

[Ding! You have leveled up]

[Ding! You have survived a battle against an opponent one rank higher than you. You have completed a requirement of the Class Upgrade II quest]

[Ding! You have survived a direct impact from a D-Rank attack. You have completed a requirement of the Body Tempering II quest]

[Ding! You have engaged in combat while in critical health (below 10%) and survived. You have completed a requirement of the Mental Tempering II]

[Ding! You have achieved a state of battle-induced clarity, where instinct surpasses conscious thought. You have completed a requirement of the Mental Tempering II]

Kaden was shocked to see he had indirectly completed so many strict requirements for these tempering quests. He only expected the first one as he killed the tiger in the end but all of these other minor completions were a nice little bonus.

As he read the last of the notifications and closed the system interface, his gaze fell to the ground. He noticed that the spilled dragon blood had slowly started to crystallize and form some sort of a weird small rock.

These could be collected. There were also the dragon scales and the tiger bones. It would be an utter waste to leave all of these behind. Could he somehow carry it? Maybe use his shirt?

He looked down to see his shirt and he chuckled helplessly. Only now he noticed that he was completely naked. His clothes had already been ripped to shreds and nothing was covering any part of him.

"Oh fuck, where is that abyssal shard?" He quickly scrambled to his feet and looked around. Thankfully he found it in a corner, probably tossed there during the fight.

He then stopped and rubbed his chin. He did not know what exactly but he was pretty sure there was also something else that he was completely forgetting. He went over his system interface again and then figured it out.

The mana core!

The tiger should have had a mana core even if it was a quasi-core. He once again searched the place but this time he found nothing at all. "Hmmm." He then crouched down to examine the bones and one particular bone felt extra-special.

"Could the mana core be in here?" He closed his eyes and tried to sense the mana and he wasn’t wrong. The particular bone pulsated with extremely high mana density.

"Alright. This one is done too." With this, he was now prepared to finally leave the Bone pit. The only problem was he didn’t have a way to take everything with him.

Kaden looked up at the swirling miasma and then thought of something. What if he left everything here for a couple of days before he figured things out and then came to pick it up? Or at least until he found something to bundle everything up?

All of these were only temporary solutions. To solve this problem once and for all, he needed to find a system settlement core and activate it. Once that happened a rudimentary system shop would appear and he could buy many things from there.

He could also make inquiries about his bloodline stabilizing catalyst. This had to be his next goal. Fixing this in mind, Kaden started making his upwards climb.

He paused and realized the obvious way out. He could simply fly. He was about to activate Bestial shift when he remembered there was locked form in that skill. By any chance did his binge eating or his near death fight unlock the form?

He quickly opened the system interface and instantly his eyes became as wide as saucers.
