Chapter 34: Curing the fiance’s legs (Part-1)

She no longer even glanced in Luna’s direction.

The waitress immediately followed the instruction, carefully lifting the silver Cauldron from the display shelf.

As the cauldron was removed from its place, Luna’s hands clenched so tightly that her nails dug deep into her palms.

Blood nearly seeped through.

She could only watch helplessly as the cauldron disappeared from the second floor—taken away by the very person she despised the most.

On the first floor of Elysia Trading Hall, Zora calmly paid two hundred thousand gold coins without the slightest hesitation.

The cauldron was immediately placed into her Storage pouch.

The waitress couldn’t help but look at the young woman before her again with a trace of astonishment.

To take out two hundred thousand gold coins so easily at such a young age—this was no ordinary background.

She glanced subconsciously toward the upstairs direction where Luna stood frozen.

The waitress was clearly new to the Imperial City. If she had been here longer, she would certainly have recognized that the woman standing before her was the famous doctor of the Origin Medical Hall.

Watching Luna clench her teeth in humiliation upstairs, Xiao Hei nearly burst with excitement.

"Master, seeing that dead woman so furious is just too satisfying!" Black bounced with glee. "Even if you tell me not to eat dinner tonight, I won’t feel hungry anymore!"

Zora glanced at it sideways with an amused smile. "Oh? You said that yourself. Then no dinner tonight."

Black immediately froze on the spot. "M–Master! I was just happy for you! How can you be so cruel to me?"

White couldn’t help laughing from the side and added calmly, "Without food, you really can’t survive."

Black instantly turned fierce and glared at White. "If I don’t get to eat, you’re not eating either!" 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢

Seeing the two little fellows quarrel like children over a meal, Zora finally couldn’t hold back her laughter.

"Alright, alright," she said helplessly. "Tonight, I’ll let you both eat as much as you want."

"Long live the Master!"

The two little ones shouted in unison, nearly jumping with joy.

*

hours later;

When Zora returned to her residence, Prince Kael was still sitting calmly at the stone table. Seeing her come back, he lifted his eyes and smiled faintly.

"You seem quite busy today. You’re only back now."

Zora nodded lightly. "Of course. I’m not like you, an idle prince with nothing to do all day."

Prince Kael wasn’t offended in the least. Instead, he laughed softly. "Have you eaten? I had someone prepare dinner."

"I’ll taste the skills of your chef then."

He clapped his hands lightly, and soon the servants brought out one exquisite dish after another. The fragrance instantly filled the courtyard.

Just as Zora was about to pick up her knife and fork, she suddenly felt something damp fall onto her head. She paused and glanced upward in confusion.

The moon hung high in the sky, clear and bright. There wasn’t a single cloud in sight.

Then she immediately understood.

It was the drool of those two little gluttons.

"Master! So much delicious food!" Black cried excitedly.

Zora’s face darkened slightly as she warned coldly, "If either of you dares to drool onto my head again, I’ll make sure you starve for the next few days. Believe it or not?"

The two little beasts instantly stiffened. Their mouths snapped shut at the same time, not daring to let even a single drop fall.

Prince Kael watched this odd scene with curiosity and amusement. "What are you doing just now?"

"Nothing," Zora replied flatly. "I just think your chef’s cooking is very good."

*

After a hearty meal, Zora leaned back slightly, truly satisfied.

Since arriving in this courtyard, this was the first time she had eaten such a perfect meal.

The General’s Manor went without saying—those meals were never meant for her. Even the food in restaurants couldn’t compare to this.

"It’s getting late," Prince Kael said gently. "You should rest early."

He stood up, clearly planning to return to the palace.

"Wait."

Zora suddenly stopped him.

He turned back with some surprise. "What is it?"

"You’re staying here tonight," she said calmly.

The words were simple, but the meaning behind them was not.

Alder beside them nearly choked. He never imagined that Zora would be so... direct.

They were not even married yet!

Prince Kael blinked, then lowered his head shyly as if embarrassed. "Darling, you’re being very proactive. That makes me feel a little shy."

Then, with a sly smile appearing on his lips, he added softly, "But... if my future wife insists, I don’t really mind."

Zora’s lips twitched violently.

This man really had a talent for twisting everything out of control.

She hadn’t even finished explaining her real intention—and he had already flown to the heavens with his imagination.

"You’re overthinking it," Zora said slowly, her tone calm and steady. "I don’t mean anything else at all."

Prince Kael smacked his lips lightly, looking as if he understood everything perfectly. "I know, of course I know. The lady has no other meaning—only that meaning. I understand very well."

That one meaning... was more than enough.

"What do you know!" Zora suddenly raised her voice, her ears faintly warm with irritation. "I only want to help you heal your legs!"

The playful light in Prince Kael’s eyes paused for a brief moment. A trace of surprise flickered through his gaze, but it disappeared almost instantly. Soon after, that familiar lazy smile returned.

"At a time like this," he said leisurely, "I actually think it’s quite nice to sit indoors and talk about life, dreams, and ideals."

"If you don’t want to be cured, then forget it."

"Don’t, don’t," Prince Kael quickly said, his tone instantly turning serious. "If the lady is willing to help the husband heal his legs, that is, of course, the best thing in the world."

As he spoke, his smile bloomed brightly, almost dazzling—so pure and harmless that it made people forget his usual sharp tongue.

Alder, standing to the side, finally let out a quiet breath of relief. He had been frightened just now, thinking that Zora had suddenly proposed something improper. Even if they were engaged, they weren’t married after all.

Now that he knew she intended to treat the young master’s legs, excitement surged uncontrollably in his heart.

The young master had been crippled for three full years. Over these three years, countless people had already given up hope on him—but Alder never had. He always believed that one day, his master would stand up again.

Now... that hope was finally no longer distant.

Zora’s expression gradually grew serious as she shifted into her healer’s state. The teasing mood faded entirely from her face.

The peach blossoms in the Apple orchard carried a special suppressive effect on Prince Kael’s illness. Under such circumstances, it was also the most suitable time to examine him.

She carefully checked the condition of his legs, her fingers pressing on specific meridians with precision. After a long moment, she raised her eyes and asked softly, "Recently, have you felt that the numbness is slowly spreading upward?"

Prince Kael nodded slightly. "There has been some movement."

Hearing this answer, Zora’s expression became more solemn.
