Reborn as the General's Useless Daughter-Chapter 182: Destroying Gabriel
"It doesn’t matter if I don’t kill you here today; there are countless ways to ruin a person."
Zora’s lips curved further, the smile now flawless, mesmerizing, and terrifying as he said those words.
She then leaned down slowly, bringing her lips close to Gabriel’s ear, her voice dropping to a whisper that sent a chill straight into his spine.
"Tell me," she murmured, "if I cripple you completely... how do you think your future would look? The Academy prohibits killing, but it doesn’t punish me for destroying someone’s cultivation."
As Zora’s words fell, the smugness frozen on Gabriel’s face shattered instantly.
His body stiffened, his pupils contracting as he stared at her in disbelief, fear flooding his eyes like a tide he could no longer hold back.
"No... You can’t do this!"
If his cultivation were destroyed, it would mean the end of everything.
Every ambition, every ounce of pride, every future he had envisioned would vanish in an instant.
He would become an ordinary person, someone unable to cultivate, unable to protect himself.
Worse still, he knew too well how cruel the world was.
The enemies he had offended in the past would never let such an opportunity slip by. Once they learned he was nothing more than a cripple, his fate would be far more miserable than death.
"Why can’t I?" Zora asked calmly, her crimson lips curving into a flawless smile that carried no warmth at all. "You were defeated, and instead of begging for your life, you are threatening me instead. And I hate being threatened."
At this moment, life and death were firmly in her hands, yet Gabriel still dared to try to intimidate her. It was ignorance bordering on stupidity.
For the first time, true terror seized Gabriel’s heart.
He saw it clearly now. There was no hesitation, no mercy in her eyes. Only cold resolve.
If his cultivation was destroyed, living would be far more painful than dying.
"Zora, I beg you!" he shouted hoarsely, panic breaking through his voice. "I swear I’ll never trouble you again. Just let me go this once!"
His plea was met with nothing but indifference.
To show mercy to an enemy was to be cruel to oneself. That lesson was etched deep into Zora’s bones. It was how she had survived in her past life, how she had led the Baili Family through storms of blood and betrayal.
"It’s too late," she said softly.
The words fell like a final judgment.
Before Gabriel could react, Zora struck decisively, her palm slamming into the middle of his chest without the slightest hesitation. Her energy, as sharp as a blade, invaded his system and struck his mana core directly.
Boom!
A dull sound echoed as Gabriel’s body convulsed violently. It was as though all the air had been knocked out of him. In an instant, the aura surrounding him collapsed, dissipating like smoke in the wind.
His expression froze between terror and despair.
It was over.
Everything was over.
He could clearly feel it, the power that had once filled his body draining away completely, leaving behind nothing but emptiness. His cultivation, his pride, his identity as a cultivator, all gone in a single strike as his core was destroyed into pieces without being able to recover again.
"Zora, you—!" Clarissa gasped, her face drained of all color.
She never imagined that Zora would truly cripple Gabriel. Not threaten him, not scare him, but actually destroy his cultivation without the slightest hesitation.
Zora slowly turned her gaze toward Clarissa.
Her eyes were sharp and piercing, like a hawk surveying the plains, filled with dominance and killing intent. It was a look that made one’s blood run cold.
Clarissa felt her throat tighten, her body stiffening as though she had been plunged into icy water. That single glance was enough to silence her completely.
Silvan and Adrian were no better. They held their breath, not daring to move or speak, fear rooting them to the spot.
Gabriel had been the strongest among them. If even he could be reduced to a cripple so casually, what hope did the rest of them have?
To provoke Zora now would be no different from seeking death.
After confirming that Clarissa and the others had completely lost the courage to speak, Zora withdrew her gaze.
"If you want someone to blame," she said coldly, "blame your sister for provoking me. If someone verbally assaults me, I might show some restraint. If someone schemes against me with their actions, I will show them torture with my medicine, and if someone threatens my life with their weapons, I’ll take their life. Consider yourself lucky that this is the academy where I cannot kill."
As Zora’s words fell, the smug expression on Gabriel’s face froze as if time itself had stopped. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
Leaving those words behind, she turned and walked calmly toward the academy gates. Black, White, and Shihtzu quickly followed at her side.
Gabriel, now nothing more than a broken shell without cultivation, posed no threat to her whatsoever.
As for Clarissa and the others, the terror carved into their hearts tonight would be more than enough. After witnessing this, they would never dare seek trouble with her again.
After Zora left, Clarissa and the other two hurriedly rushed to Gabriel’s side.
Only then did they truly see how devastating the blow had been.
Gabriel lay there motionless, his breathing shallow, his entire body emitting a lifeless, hollow aura.
His eyes were unfocused and dull, as though his soul had been torn away along with his cultivation.
No matter how they called his name, there was almost no response. It was as if he still could not accept the cruel reality that he had, in the blink of an eye, become a cripple.
At that moment, Adrian’s regret finally surfaced in full force.
If he had known that Zora’s strength was so terrifying, he would never have followed Gabriel to provoke her.
Now, not only had his so-called umbrella, Gabriel, torn apart completely, but they had also offended a truly dangerous opponent. From this point on, their days in the academy were bound to become far more difficult.
"I’ll help no further. You take him back to rest. I still have matters to attend to." After dropping those words to Clarissa and Silvan, Adrian turned around and left without hesitation.
There was no longer any value in staying by Gabriel’s side.
Adrian understood very clearly that once news of Gabriel’s dantian being destroyed spread, countless enemies would come knocking. Gabriel had always been arrogant and domineering, and the people he had offended over the years were far from few.
If he remained here any longer and was mistakenly regarded as Gabriel’s ally, he would be dragged into a bottomless pit.
Seeing Adrian leave so decisively, Silvan and Clarissa’s expressions darkened.
When disaster struck, people scattered like birds. Adrian’s reaction was unpleasant to witness, but it was not unexpected.
Silvan’s mind raced quickly, too. Adrian’s thoughts were exactly what he himself was thinking.
From this moment on, he had to sever his ties with Gabriel as cleanly as possible.
The only reason he was still standing here was because of Serestia’s past relationship. At the very least, he would escort Gabriel back to the dormitory before making his own plans.
Clarissa, on the other hand, was lost in tangled thoughts.
