Reborn as the Failed Lord with my Resource Gathering System.-Chapter 251: Let the demon lord be awakened.
"A god should not bother with insects."
Dorian stayed quiet the entire time.
Despite the fact Yahoshi was dangerously close to him, her dark dead mana threatening to leak from her body, he remained composed.
"That is to say, you are aware that I am supposed to be some kind of god, correct?"
"..."
"How about we do this instead?" Dorian decided to make a move.
He grabbed her by the cheek, his hand resting on her soft and warm skin.
[Target has been identified.]
[The target is feeling flustered and longing.]
Dorian sighed with relief internally.
'Good, it's working then. I guess she still harbors feelings for me, in some way.'
Looking at her, he could clearly see that her cheeks were beet red, and her eyes widened. If she truly hated the fact that he touched her in such a romantic way, then she would have pushed him away.
It was the perfect opportunity.
"If you agree to tell me everything that you know, everything I want to know... then I will return with you."
At first, it seemed like she was simply looking at his lips rather than listening to the words that were leaving them. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢
But the moment she heard him mention he would return with her, she immediately snapped out of her daze and locked gazes with him.
"You really want to know that badly?"
"What can I say? I have always been known to be a curious man," Dorian replied, not backing down in any way.
Once she sensed that he was indeed serious, she slowly stepped away from his grasp and sat back down on her seat.
"Fine. I was going to tell you after we returned back to our world, but if you so desperately want to hear it now, then I shall abide by that. But first…"
Tap!
Yahoshi snapped her fingers.
Immediately, a huge force of dark energy surged from the water, causing a massive wave to push from their location.
The force was violent enough to flip some of the boats that were unfortunate enough to be nearby at the time.
The screams of people echoed throughout the entire place as they fell into the cold water after their boats flipped over from the wave.
Some of them, who landed on the large floating lanterns, stayed there to avoid getting wet from the ice-chilling water.
It didn't take too long before the assigned lifeguards of the shore began to move to the rescue, trying their best to save as many people as they could.
However, whilst they were busy saving people, those who had been saved—and those who never fell into the water to begin with—all began to notice the dark circle that had appeared at the center of the river.
It was right where their Duke and the woman had been.
Yes, the darkness had swallowed their boat completely, forming a massive, impenetrable barrier.
"Master!!!"
Lili immediately launched forward the moment she noticed the darkness that had swallowed up her Master.
"I can't sense him."
For the first time during her time on Earth, Ciel had fear written on her face.
It was as though her Master had disappeared from the face of the earth.
She leaped down from the rooftop she was seated on and slowly began to descend to the ground, her wings spreading out instantly.
Then, with the same breath, she charged forward, moving at a speed that was far beyond the naked eye.
She sped past Lili in mere seconds, trying to get to the dark, throbbing sphere before it could fully close.
However, the witches had a different plan.
Boom!
Ciel was forced to stop when she noticed a fast-moving ball of energy charging toward her position.
She quickly stopped, stretching her hand forward and stopping the energy dead in its tracks.
Seconds later, it exploded.
A massive blast once again sent large ripples of waves throughout the entire water, shoving bystanders back in.
Lili, who had been trailing at the back, suddenly stopped at the sight of the explosion.
Unlike Ciel, she wasn't caught in it, and she was also fortunate enough to see the masterminds behind it.
The witches had appeared.
Hovering in the sky, right above the dark barrier.
First was the Witch of Turmoil, Bonnie, her staff stationed in her hand as she looked down at Lili.
Right beside her was Luno, the Witch of Greed.
And then the last of the three pillars, the Witch of Hate, Estarosa—a woman with short blue hair and a teddy bear tied to her waist, dressed in black shorts and a short top.
As the three witches hovered in front of the giant dark barrier, within seconds, more and more witches began to appear all around the place.
Each of them floated above the water.
About fifty or more were present, forming a giant wall between Dorian and his subordinates.
"The witches…" Lili frowned, her way of hiding the current fear she was feeling.
"Filthy witch!"
Ciel swayed her hand to the side, dispelling the smoke that had surrounded her form after the explosion.
Fortunately, she was unharmed.
Such an attack could never give her a scratch.
With the anger deep in her eyes, she looked at the number of witches that were before her, and quickly understood they were trying to stop her from getting to Dorian.
"You have a final chance to think on your decision. Move. Or I'll kill every last one of you."
Her warning was, of course, taken seriously as her Dragon Mana began to leak from her form.
Luno looked down at her, a calm look on her face, a far contrast from her opponent.
"You who was said to be the last Child of Ragor. A child born to serve the one true Demon Lord. Your survival has been acknowledged by we the witches and our Master, the Witch Evernight. Would you rather side with the mortals than join our cause?"
Ciel narrowed her gaze as she listened.
"The human race is disgusting. They are filled with hatred and jealousy for one another. Greed for things that should have never been theirs. I am only this strong because this world is filled with corrupted greed.
This world that caused the death of our Lord, the Demon Lord Jacob. You serve the Demon Lord. You are not an enemy, unless you make yourself one.
Join us, and together we can serve the Demon Lord together, under one rule."
"If you truly wish to serve the Dragon Lord, then you would submit to him willingly. But I should expect no better from a witch. How dare you blame humanity for the death of the Dragon Monarch? Humanity has its flaws, but do not stand here and lie as though you have no knowledge of your master being the one who killed the Dragon Monarch in the first place!"
Lili pointed her claws at the witches, backing Ciel up.
"So much anger from one person. You must really hate us. Hmm..."
The Witch of Hate, Estarosa, spoke, a somewhat sadistic smile on her face.
"You couldn't be any more wrong." Ciel didn't hesitate to reply. "In as much as I want nothing more than to rip you all to shreds, I would like to see what is being done to my Lord. So get out of my way."
"I am afraid we can't let that happen. See, the Demon Lord is about to be awakened. Nothing you do can stop that. Rejoice in your last moments, for it shall be the last time the Dragon Monarch ever answers to you, Child of Ragor."
