Chapter 1687: Chapter 1681: Honeymoon Trip

After the wedding festivities, entertaining the guests, and watching the Olympic opening ceremony in the evening, Huo Sining was whisked away to Venice by Gu Xu overnight.

The plane departed from the Imperial Capital, had a layover in Rome, and arrived in Venice by early morning, around five. Once there, they headed straight to the villa Gu Xu had pre-booked, and Huo Sining, utterly exhausted, immediately went to sleep to adjust to the new time zone.

The nap didn’t last long, only until five in the afternoon. During it, Gu Xu couldn’t resist making playful advances, thoroughly enjoying his wife’s company inside and out.

When Huo Sining awoke, she stepped out of the room. Hearing noise from the kitchen, she dressed in a floral cotton pajama set, slipped on some slippers, and with tousled hair and sleepy eyes, wandered over to the kitchen in a daze.

Gu Xu was busy in the kitchen. Hearing her approach, he turned around to see his wife looking both adorably youthful and lazily alluring. Without thinking, he rushed over to her and gave her a passionate kiss on the lips. 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢

Huo Sining felt a bit helpless. Although she knew Gu Xu was physically fit, his energy level was astonishingly high.

He had already been insatiable in bed all day, and now he was pouncing on her like a wolf at the very sight of her.

Recalling Gu Xu’s eager antics from earlier, Huo Sining couldn’t help but feel a little warm in the face. She quickly pushed away this man who seemed always ready to pounce, trying to divert Gu Xu’s attention:

"I’ve adjusted to the time difference now. I heard Venice’s night view is beautiful. Why don’t we go out after dinner?"

Gu Xu swallowed and gave his tantalizing wife a glance filled with longing, responding with a touch of childishness:

"Can’t we just stay in? I want to be with you at home."

Huo Sining was speechless. Seeing Gu Xu’s expression, she knew exactly what he was thinking. Looking out at the scenery, she refused without hesitation: "No, I want to go out and play."

Gu Xu looked her up and down, suddenly smirking, and teased: "Wifey, you’re full of energy to go out. Is it because I didn’t try hard enough just now?"

Huo Sining was caught off guard by Gu Xu’s unexpected raunchy joke, momentarily stunned, and only realized a second later what he meant.

She couldn’t help but glare at him. Seeing the suggestive look in Gu Xu’s eyes, her face involuntarily flushed again.

"Shoo, shoo, shoo, all day long you’re only thinking about nonsense, hurry up and make dinner!" Huo Sining said with exasperation, embarrassedly pushing Gu Xu back to the kitchen.

Gu Xu grinned mischievously, leaning close to her cheek and stealing kisses now and then, reveling in the soft touch of his wife’s skin, feeling a deep sense of satisfaction in his heart:

"How is this nonsense? Don’t you remember what Chengxuan said when we boarded the plane? That kid said we should bring back a brother for him. If we don’t try, how can we face that kid when we return?"

"Ugh, you’re just spouting nonsense." Huo Sining retorted, but her heartbeat involuntarily skipped a beat.

Gu Chengxuan was the son of Gu Xu’s elder brother and Chen Yu. This little guy was precocious. When Huo Sining first met that rascal, he called her auntie and teased her, asking when she would give him a little brother to play with.

But that chubby kid was indeed adorable, and everyone in the Gu Family adored this little dumpling. Even Huo Sining was very fond of him.

Originally, Huo Sining never thought about having children so soon. However, for some reason, the thought of possibly raising a child as cute as Tuanzi with Gu Xu warmed her heart, making her somewhat anticipate the arrival of such a day.

Venice’s charm cannot be separated from its waters. The winding canals and flowing ripples are like a gentle, affectionate maiden, with tenderness pouring from her eyes.

Venice is the essence of the Renaissance, born of water and beautiful because of it. Its architecture, painting, sculpture, and opera hold an incredibly important position and influence worldwide.

Located in northeastern Italy, Venice is a world-renowned water city and a historical and cultural city of Italy, filled with ancient sites, various churches, bell towers, monasteries, and palaces,

It is the only city in the world without cars. Here, waterways are like streets and alleys, and the only means of transportation is by boat, especially the characteristic local gondolas.

The Grand Canal spans the entire length of Venice, dividing the city into two parts. Following the water and sightseeing along the canal is one of the best travel plans in Venice.

God shed tears here, yet made it more sparkling and tender, like a romantic dream floating on the waves. Thus, many beautiful and romantic films and TV dramas are shot here.

In addition to its famous architecture, the city bears the footprints of many writers, painters, and musicians,

Piazza San Marco is the central square of Venice. The eastern side features the majestic and splendid Saint Mark’s Basilica.

The Doge’s Palace was the residence of former Venice doges, with each hall decorated with oil paintings, frescoes, and marble carvings, making it extremely luxurious.

The Bridge of Sighs behind the Doge’s Palace is the bridge prisoners pass on their way to jail after receiving their sentences. Hence, it got its name from the sighs of remorse often expressed by the prisoners crossing it.

The city’s past glory and dreams, its architecture, and art, all preserved in an extraordinary manner in this unique water city. Its atmosphere feels magically enchanting.

It’s like an amusement park, a place full of wonders and dreams, making those who have visited Venice linger in this fairy-tale water world.

Huo Sining was one of those. After playing in this water city for a few days, she found it hard to leave, as it boasts great Renaissance and Byzantine architecture, the most beautiful square in the world, and corridors breathtaking in their beauty. From the Bridge of Sighs to the Golden Palace to Burano, Huo Sining indulged in wild adventures while shopping for many cheap yet unique crafts along the way.

For all of Huo Sining’s actions, Gu Xu adhered to a simple rule: whatever she buys, he pays; wherever she shops, he carries her bags; whenever she’s thirsty, he buys water. Everything is up to Huo Sining.

Gu Xu’s pampering of his wife was vividly demonstrated in Venice. Whatever caught Huo Sining’s eye, he would buy. He even went as far as buying the villa they stayed in, almost suggesting he might buy an entire street in Venice.
