Reborn As Noble-Chapter 1054: The Language of Love ( )
"My Lord." Cliff bowed respectfully toward him.
"What Lady Kayra says about our situation is true. I have seen how advanced Armand is, their technology is beyond anything we have ever imagined. If they are willing to help... it may be our only chance to survive."
He paused, his tone respectful but unwavering.
"And Lady Kayra risked everything to secure this audience. So, my lord... please. Hear the terms first. Then decide."
Garzin’s jaw tightened, his knuckles white from gripping them hard. He glanced from Cliff to Kayra, conflict etched across his face.
Just then, the door opened.
Their daughter came running toward him with a bright, happy smile.
"Papa! Look! This necklace is so beautiful!"
Garzin exhaled and managed a faint smile, kneeling down to meet her eye level. He patted her head gently. "Yes, Narcie~?"
"This is a gift from the beautiful big sister~ Her hair is silver, her eyes are pale purple, Papa! Tehe~ She gave me this, took me to play on their playground, gave me sweets~ She’s so kind, so nice, and when I grow up~ I want to be as beautiful as her!" Narcie beamed, bouncing slightly on her toes, her little hands clutching the shimmering pendant.
Garzin smiled faintly, patting her head again. "Yes, it’s beautiful. Papa is busy right now~ Go play with your brother or the maid, okay?"
"Mm! Okay, Papa! Ehehehe!" Narcie turned and skipped happily out of the room, her cheerful energy lingering in the air like a soft echo.
Garzin watched her go, his expression softening for a moment before the weight of the decision settled back over him. He stood slowly, turning back to Kayra and Cliff.
"Alright," he said, his voice low but resolved. "Bring Prince Javier to the main hall. I will hear his terms."
Kayra dabbed her eyes with her sleeve, while Cliff stood straight and bowed politely.
"As you command, my lord."
Garzin exhaled. "Tell the chef and the maids to prepare what we can for our guest from Armand."
"Yes, my lord." Cliff bowed and headed out.
"Thank you, dear." Kayra moved closer and hugged him.
Garzin just looked at her, his arms remaining at his sides for a moment before he slowly returned the embrace.
"I don’t want to do this. I wouldn’t even consider it if I weren’t thinking of our children. But I will hear the terms first. I won’t decide until we’ve heard everything, every condition, every risk, every promise. And then... we will decide together."
Meanwhile, inside the transport drone.
Javier was enjoying his steak while occasionally tossing a piece to the Pekko, who caught it eagerly. He noticed the Tybalt guards watching intently from outside, their expressions a mix of awe, hunger, and suspicion.
Javier exhaled. "Liana?"
"Yes, young master?" Liana looked at him and smiled.
Javier snapped his fingers, and a massive, shallow metal basin appeared, filled to the brim with marinated meat, enough to feed two dozen men.
"Can you tell them to take this and grill it themselves? Err... how do I say this... I don’t like being watched while... umm... eating. Ehehe."
"As you wish, young master." Liana smiled, turned, and lifted the huge basin as if it weighed nothing. She walked gracefully toward the guards.
The guards stared, struck not just by the sheer amount of food, but by her, an elf of breathtaking beauty, a sight rarely seen in the Human Kingdom, moving with an otherworldly grace.
Liana tilted her head, her silver hair catching the light, her emerald eyes soft and kind, her smile gentle.
"My master offers this to you. It is marinated and ready to cook. Do not worry, it holds no poison, nor does my young master intend any harm. He simply prefers not to dine under watchful eyes. Please, share it among yourselves."
She set the basin down before them with effortless grace. The aroma of seasoned meat wafted through the air, and several guards swallowed hard, their earlier tension softening into hesitant gratitude.
Liana glanced at them with a pure, serene smile, noticing they still hadn’t moved.
"If thou dost not trust me, then kindle a fire, and I shall cook the piece ye choose and eat it before thee~ How sayest thou?"
The guards were awestruck, not just by her beauty, but by the lyrical, ancient cadence of her Elven tongue. Their eyes widened, captivated by the grace and elegance woven into every syllable.
"Oh, Elven beauty! Marry me!" one guard blurted out.
"No! She should wed me!" another pushed forward, dropping to one knee and presenting a wildflower he’d just plucked from the courtyard.
Javier glared at them from the drone’s doorway, his expression darkening slightly.
Liana chuckled softly, the sound like wind chimes.
"I thank thee for thy kind words good sirs, but I am already betrothed to the prince. Now, if thou wilt excuse me." She bowed gracefully, the movement fluid and poised, then turned to walk away. The natural sway of her hips was elegant and unhurried, the fabric of her maid’s dress flowing with each step, leaving the guards staring after her in a daze of admiration and regret.
Once Liana arrived at the table and was about to sit, Javier gripped her wrist and pulled her into his lap, his gaze intense and possessive.
"Thou art mine," he said in flawless, melodic Elven, his voice low and certain. "All of thee art mine. Think not even of leaving me, Liana"
Liana smiled softly, her palm resting against his cheek as she leaned her forehead against his. "Worry not, young master. This one hath already pledged, and this form hath been thine since the day this one bestowed upon thee both flower and heart. This one shall not, nor shall ever, forsake thee for another. No matter what trials may come."
She kissed the tip of his nose before pressing her lips gently to his.
Gloria pouted, her lips puckering. "Forget not, Liana," she said, her own Elven fluent and sweet. "Young master is also the one who hath claimed this one’s flower. He is this one’s as well.
Felicia’s eyes widened, Mimi’s jaw dropped, while Delya gasped softly.
Looking at Javier who had just spoken flawless, melodic Elven.
"Husband?" Felicia called, her voice soft with wonder.
Javier glanced toward her. "Yes, Felicia?"
"You could speak Elven language?" Felicia asked, still looking at him with wide, amber eyes.
"Hmm? Yes. This one can also speak your people’s language, Felicia." Javier smiled, his voice shifting into the graceful, third-person cadence of the Beastkin.
"Really, husband-sama?" Mimi asked, her tail twitching with excitement.
Javier smiled after Liana returned to her seat and spoke again, his voice flowing with the sensory grace of the Beastkin tongue:
"This one’s mind is sharp as the falcon’s sight, is it not? Of course this one knows the melodies of nearly all tongues and dialects that grace these lands. Like Delya’s people from the demon realms, or the flowing speech of the Beastkin lands."
He paused, his gaze shifting to Delya. "And yes, this one is familiar with the precise, binding speech of the Infernal courts as well. Though one must exercise caution with such language, every syllable carries contractual weight, and unintended clauses can be... problematic."
He grinned and slipped back into standard speech with a playful wink.
"Ehehe... what? Did you think I spent all those years in the library just looking at pictures?"
