Chapter 43: Story Of Asara Trees

Cassandra’s chest squirmed and her legs involuntarily tightened at his suggestion. His hand was lazily resting on her thigh, ready to part it and delve inside. Fingers digging into her soft flesh.

The urge to let him touch what no man had ever done was real and yet she buried all those urges deep down and slightly turned her head to face him.

His aureate globes were deeply focused on her, hanging onto her decision.

"Why don’t you bathe me instead and tell me the complete story of the Asara Tree? And delve there after we bond." Cassandra asked with a cunning smile, pouring buckets of cold water over Siroos’s desires.

The sides of his cupid bow lips turned downwards and they quivered. His eyebrows drew together, the gold inked different shades, giving her a pleading look.

Cassandra had to bunch her lips together seeing his dramatics.

"As you wish, Malakti (my queen)." Picking up her soft locks he tousled them on her left shoulder. Grabbing the washcloth, Siroos dipped it in water and began cleaning her right shoulder with gentle touches. Cassandra relaxed and relished in his care.

She asked. "Why the Asara trees don’t grow anymore?"

Siroos’s hand paused for a second as he began to narrate and resumed cleaning her.

"You know Asara is the goddess of love and beauty. The Asara Trees are named after her for she hand-planted them in our world and watered them with heavenly water. They used to bear her favourite fruit, something very similar to strawberry but much sweeter. Underneath the tree, this flower bloomed."

Siroos picked up one of the violet petals and traced it along Cassandra’s wet arm. Velvety soft it soothed her skin as if applying soothing balms. Wherever it touched, it turned her skin tender and soft.

"It’s called Violeta Luminance, known for its soothing properties and making skin as soft as a newborn’s. It’s said that Asara’s eyes had the same hue as these petals. The colour of deep devotion, spirituality and mystery for these were the attributes of Asara. She believed in deep connections between lovers instead of only physical passion which can erode easily."

Siroos’s voice had dipped to a low murmuring hum as he narrated the story of the goddess of love. His hand hitched Cassandra’s chemise up and he traced the petal on her lower abdomen.

Cassandra rested her head on his athletic shoulder and listened very attentively. Her body had loosened, and the muscles relaxed under the soothing effect and invigorating scents which were guiding her towards euphoria.

"And you, my queen, have been bestowed with the same colour. There is this mystery about you I cannot pinpoint." ƒree𝑤ebnσvel-com

He startled Cassandra with his words. Watching her with his half-hooded eyes, the floral and spicy scents of the oils had created this romantic atmosphere around them which eased them and had them opening up to the other. She intrigued and mesmerised him like no other and that connection he felt ran deeper than the physical primal drive of his.

Cassandra, on the other hand, didn’t believe she had anything hidden or was mysterious in any sense.

"I am just a girl," she answered softly. "So why do no more Asara trees grow in our world? I heard there used to be hundreds but most of them died." Cassandra wished to shift the conversation back to Asara.

Siroos let out a deep sigh and pressed his hand on her abdomen, tethering her to his starved flesh. His lips rested behind her ear.

The water lapped around them as the refreshing scents of the water surrounded them like thick fog, invigorated their senses and dulled out the world around them, leaving only these two lost in their tales.

"Legend says, Asara stopped visiting our world 500 years ago. Some say she got offended by some mortal others say she offended some god and lost her status as the love goddess. Our world has run dry of true love, it’s about pleasures of flesh, lust and lewdness now. Spiritual connections hardly exist even between mates."

His voice was smooth like the water surrounding them but it held a certain pain to it as if the fact bothered him.

Cassandra let out a deep huff and pointed out. Her hand landed on his thick arm and rested there, soothing him further. He wished she would glide it along for she mostly avoided touching him.

"It might not be true, we don’t know how gods and goddesses work."

"True, but according to our records and elders, our pack was also cursed 500 years ago. I believe something happened at that time. A storm has been recorded in books which went on raging for weeks. The mystery I wish to unravel but I have failed so far." His voice deepened, got edgier as if the words were dipped in steel. His body had tightened behind her and Cassandra understood this was a sour topic for him.

"Together we will do it. I will help you." Cassandra’s determined words eased some of the tension that had built up in the bands of his muscles and he stared down at her hand which had begun to slide up and down his arm.

"Thank you! I appreciate it," he answered, plastering a deep kiss behind the soft part of her ear.

She liquefied in his arms at the tenderness he showered her with while the man with gold-dusted eyes rubbed his rough hands on every inch of her skin he found. Her scent had mingled with the scents of the oil and created a unique perfume for him. A kind he could never get enough of. He closed his eyes and revelled in this precious moment for tonight she was his, he wasn’t very sure about tomorrow.

Cassandra wished to ask him more about the curse but considering how edgy he got she decided to ask him another question. Something which had been bugging her.

"Can I ask you something?"

"Anything," he drowsily answered, dipping his head and placing a light kiss on the inviting slant of her neck. She shuddered in his strong arms, the slow touch of his lips rushed jolts and sparks right to her inner folds and toes.

She asked in a trembling voice.

"How did you know I was your mate? I know you came to me knowing what I was to you."

Siroos’s lips halted on her wet neck and his eyes slowly opened.
