Reborn As Cursed Alpha's Mate-Chapter 112: The Blinding Pain In Her Heart
Chapter 112: The Blinding Pain In Her Heart
"Ummm!" He mumbled, his lips already tracing the bulging vein in her neck as his hands had twisted with hers, pressing them into the hardwood of the door.
"W–wait!" She stammered; her heart had started a sprint, and her body had begun to heat up as if he was boiling her in a cauldron.
"Why? I wish to show my appreciation for how well my mate has handled today." Siroos halted and stared at her, his eyes cast down, the long lashes fluttered at her.
"I...," Cassandra couldn’t understand how to tell him that she was in no state to repeat what they had done yesterday.
Seeing her hesitant and lost for words, Siroos let out a throaty chuckle, the voice resonating all around her like a high-pitched musical note.
"You are still sore aren’t you?" He abasedly announced.
Her whole face scalded from his naughty words and she squirmed in his hold with annoyance crawling up her face.
"You barbarian, do you have to embarrass me?"
Siroos chuckled some more before speaking.
"Yes! You look too cute when you scowl like this. Your cheeks puff up and I want to poke them."
The scowl on her face deepened and her eyes narrowed at him when he leaned in and kissed the tip of her nose and engulfed her in a tight hug, pressing her cheek against his pectorals.
"Don’t worry, I just want to hold and kiss you today. We will take it slow, I won’t overwhelm you."
Cassandra’s body relaxed; it had been a long day and there was no way she would be able to take a pounding from him.
"Oh! Thank you," she blurted out without thinking, making him guffaw.
The mindlink opened and it was Ghala.
’Siroos, we would like to talk to you. Come to the stone hut,’ his voice came through and Siroos experienced a wave of disappointment.
’At this hour?’ He asked and Ghala answered.
’It’s concerning, Luna Trials, as they are next month, so we have limited time.’
’Fine, I am coming,’ Siroos said disappointedly and closed the mind link.
Tilting Cassandra’s chin up with his forefinger, Siroos traced her wet lips with the pad of his thumb.
"I have to go but I will be back later. Get some rest because I would love a taste, I can’t sleep without it," he teased, and Cassandra felt a tinge of sadness was over her. She didn’t wish for him to leave just yet.
Burying down her disappointment she separated from her mate. Her sizzling skin screamed as the connection was severed.
"I will wait." Giving his mate a smooth kiss, Siroos finally left her chamber as Cassandra sighed and dragged herself towards her cupboard.
Taking out a light chemise, Cassandra removed her other clothes and slipped into it. Soon after, she went to bed in hopes that during the night hours, Siroos might return.
It had been a tiring day so Cassandra fell asleep soon.
An uneasiness woke her up and it accelerated before she could sit. Stinging pain erupted inside her heart as if hundreds of splinters were being pierced directly into it.
"Argh! What’s happening?" She uncontrollably cried out, clutching her shirt from the front.
Her breathing turned uneven and more laboured as if she was having a heart attack. Sweat oozed out of every pore of her body and drenched her short chemise.
Cassandra stretched her hand, trying to reach the urn to get herself some water to drink. But her hand shook so violently that it crashed on the floor and broke with a loud thud.
"Oh! No," she cried out and staggered to her feet. She needed air and tried to breathe but her lungs wouldn’t get enough.
Scrambling to her feet, she tried to take a step off her bedding, but the blinding pain erupted in her belly and travelled like liquid fire in her veins in the worst possible way.
Cassandra doubled over in pain, her hands going to her belly as she sunk back on the mattress in a kneeling position.
Her bond tugged and screamed in her heaving chest. Something was wrong, she knew it in her gut, something was wrong with her mate.
Staggering to her feet once again, she battled the mind-numbing pain and stumbled forward, trying not to fall.
"Siroos!" She called out to him in a hoarse voice, her one hand stretched forward while the other rested on her belly.
There was no response.
Could he not sense her pain?
What if something had happened to him?
So many perilous thoughts surfaced in her mind, numbing her.
With great difficulty, Cassandra made her way to the door and yanked it open.
Ames was on guard after Siroos had sent away Tara, she had gone to sleep, so Ames took over.
Seeing their Luna in such a tattered state, barely able to take a step, and her face contorted in unimaginable pain, Ames became anxious.
"Nissa!!! Is everything alright?" He quickly stepped forward while mindlinking Tara, knowing something was not right.
"I...I need to g–get to your Alpha," Cassandra spoke out with difficulty, the pain was getting worse with every second.
Ames tried to connect with Siroos through the mind link, but he found obstruction from his side; he couldn’t connect.
"Nissa! Wait, I have called Tara. Let’s just sit down for a few seconds, I will get you some water."
Cassandra slid down against the wall, having no energy to get back inside the room. Ames frantically swerved his head, left and right, waiting for Tara, so he could fetch some water.
Tara came running, out of breath and skidded to a halt in front of Cassandra.
"Nissa!" Her eyes swerved to Ames holding questions, he only shook his head and ran off to fetch some water.
"Take me to Siroos’s chamber," she instructed, clutching Tara’s arm. Her hands were turning colder than ice. Her lips shook from the unimaginable pain while her eyes welled up with tears.
"Right away!" Tara carefully slipped her arm around Cassandra’s shoulders and hauled her up. Tara didn’t understand what was wrong with their Luna, but she wished to be with her mate, so she wasn’t going to deny that.
Nearing the chamber, Tara, due to her heightened hearing sense, heard some strange noises from inside, and she stilled, both of them coming to a halt. Embarrassment coasted over her.
"Why are we stopping?" Cassandra asked, sliding out of Tara’s arms.
"Nissa! I think we should return later.... You are not well — I will call the Alpha soon," she tried to make an excuse, not meeting her Luna’s eyes.
Cassandra shook her head and staggered forward, taking support from the hard wall and then she heard his grunts and slapping of flesh against flesh. She completely froze for a second. Every muscle in her body strained.
"Nissa! Please! Let’s return to your chamber." Tara watched her in pity and utter helplessness. This would scar her for life.
"No!" Cassandra firmly said and straightened up, ignoring the pain wrecking her body. Without even bothering to knock, she pushed open the door of his chamber and entered while every instinct in her body told her not to.
She boldly faced the man that was her mate and the woman he was balls deep in.
