Chapter 682: Chapter 682: Speak Like Usual

With that, Arabella said her goodbyes to Ferdinand and Alwin. Rendell still followed as her guard.

While Ferdinand was to spend time with Benjamin, Alwin also said his goodbyes since he was set on returning to Elder Satara’s residence to catch up with the latter and listen to stories about his parents.

Alwin barely had any memories of his parents. His father and mother were the retired King and Queen of the Elves at that time, and thus, lived separately from Alvis who was crowned the next king.

Alwin’s parents lived in a separate location and thus, Alvis did not know much about Alwin when he was a child either. He only saw Alwin several times. Thus, what he could tell Alwin about his parents when he was born was limited.

Elder Satara could tell Alwin more stories about his parents when he was already born than Alvis could.

With this, they all agreed to meet early in the morning.

"I’ll see you tomorrow morning then," Alwin bowed and teleported once they gave their approval.

"I’ll see you tomorrow morning too," Arabella said to her husband and he flinched.

"Why in the morning?" Ferdinand blinked twice and tilted his head as if he did not hear her right.

"I have a lot to speak about with my siblings. An entire night would not even be enough," Arabella pointed out.

[I thought they would spend several hours together at most. Why an entire night? We have been too busy the past few days so our time together has been limited.] Ferdinand was suddenly conflicted.

{Come on, it’s just one night. We have a lot more nights to spend together later. I’ll see you in the morning, okay? We will have lots of time to spend together after the Court Sessions.} Arabella communicated with him through the ring.

She knew that she indeed had a lot to talk about with her younger siblings and they had a ton of questions for her too. Thus, it was better to be with them until all their questions were answered.

[Right... I shouldn’t be selfish. She hadn’t seen them for a while.]

"I see... Alright then," Ferdinand relented.

Ferdinand and Benjamin then walked them to Lorelei’s room. Since Lei was the youngest, they went with her choice so her room became their venue.

Arabella parted with her husband after kissing him on the cheek. Her younger siblings blushed and looked away.

Rendell closed the door for them and stood guard outside.

"Shall we go then, Your Majesty? I think we also have a lot to discuss," Benjamin invited Ferdinand.

"..."

Arabella glanced back at the door when there was no response from her husband.

[She did not even hug me...] Ferdinand lamented.

’Huh? But I already gave him a kiss. That was already embarrassing to do in front of my siblings,’ Arabella blinked twice. Her brows furrowed as she waited for Ferdinand to leave.

[I already miss her.]

’Hahaha. Geez he’s so adorable,’ Arabella chuckled and walked back to the door.

"I’ll be back shortly," she said to her younger siblings.

Rendell felt her presence and opened it for her. He closed it back once she was outside.

[Why did she come back? Did she change her mind?] Ferdinand perked upon seeing her.

Arabella hugged her husband as tight as she could for several seconds. Ferdinand was quick to respond and held her tight.

"Alright, you should go now," she pulled away but he held her tighter instead.

"You should still catch a few hours of sleep since the Court Session tomorrow might take a whole day," Ferdinand reminded.

"Yes, don’t worry," Arabella smiled.

"Good."

Ferdinand finally loosened his hold on her so she thought he would finally go. Yet, instead, he quickly leaned in and kissed her on the lips.

Arabella was wide-eyed since her older brother was there.

"Ugh, I’d rather not be seeing this," Benjamin complained and turned around. It was too late though since he already saw it.

"You!" Arabella wanted to scold her husband but she could not do it in front of her older brother. Thankfully, her younger siblings were inside Lei’s room.

[Haha. Her flushed face is always a treat.]

{Did you really have to kiss me right in front of my older brother?!} Arabella complained.

{It’s because I won’t be with you tonight. I needed it.} Ferdinand smirked victoriously and gave Arabella one last peck.

"Goodnight," he finally said and turned around with a smile still on his lips.

[Why do they have to act all sweet everywhere? If I didn’t know how clingy he was to her back in Medeus, I would not believe this at all and think they were just trying to make a show because they were here in Lobelius. Her guard seems to be used to it. Are they like this in Valeria too? Then what do they think of their, Emperor now? This is so much in contrast to his reputation. Wait, does he even know where he’s going?] Benjamin sighed deeply and quickly followed after Ferdinand. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺

’Geez. That guy! It would be just for a few hours. It’s not like we had not been apart before,’ Arabella thought and fanned her flushed face.

Only when she was sure she was no longer blushing did she enter Lei’s room again.

"Alright, shall we begin?" Arabella asked her siblings who were silently waiting for her inside.

"Yes. Yes!" Lei nodded eagerly.

"Oh, your room has changed a lot," Arabella noticed that the decorations have changed.

It used to have a lot of dolls (of various sizes even ones much larger than Lei) and cutesy items everywhere. But now, most of the decorations are related to music.

"Of course. I’m a grown-up now," Lei responded confidently.

Eloisa chuckled at Lei’s response and tried to hide it.

"No, you are not. You’re still a child and you’re still so small," Nicholas contradicted.

"Hump. Don’t be so mean just because you’re older. Just wait and see. I’ll be as pretty as Elder Sister once I fully grow up," Lei defended herself.

"Alright, don’t fight now. Elder Sister is finally here," Eloisa pointed out.

"Right... We’re so sorry, Elder Sis- Your Majesty," the two corrected their words and bowed their head.

"Stop it. Why are you acting so formal? It’s okay now since it’s just us. Let’s speak like usual," Arabella encouraged.
