Reborn as a Mind-Reading Empress-Chapter 679: Alwin Do Not Need A Mate
Arabella could not help but smile too and held Ferdinand’s hand. She was glad Alwin got to hear something he had been longing for, even in their previous life, to hear from Ferdinand.
With this, she did not need to do anything anymore. Hopefully, this would help Alwin’s obsession with getting Ferdinand’s approval finally stop or at least lessen.
Sometimes, it was becoming somewhat tiresome how Alwin was so stubborn and kept interpreting Ferdinand and his other elders’ actions as just something formal for someone who was under them.
But Arabella understood that years of not saying anything directly about it had led Alwin to believe their love for him was not fatherly affection but something they had to do as elders in general.
After all, in her previous life, since Ferdinand did not speak with her nor vocalize his feelings, she thought she only imagined the glimpses of affection she noticed at first.
Thus, it was so important to say something since people could not magically understand a person’s thoughts and feelings unless they get an ability like she does now.
Since the elders had just learned to be vocal with their care and affection recently, it was understandable that Alwin kept misunderstanding or denying it even when it was right in front of him.
It was due to fear of getting disappointed or hurt in case he was merely assuming things. After all, he lost both parents and suddenly had to rely on people he did not know.

When Alwin finally calmed down, they continued their conversation. In embarrassment and shame that he cried in Ferdinand’s presence, Alwin pretended like the crying never happened at all.
"Let me see your palms," Elder Satara continued with what she was supposed to do earlier; taking a peek at Alwin’s past, present, and future.
Alwin gulped nervously and showed his palms.
Elder Satara held his wrists and took a close look at his palms.
"Oh my goodness! You’ve been through so much as well," Elder Satara gasped, tears reddening her eyes as she met Alwin’s nervous gaze.
[What did she see?!!]
The instant their eyes met, Alwin was wide-eyed as they had an understanding between them.
[This look! She realized that I was also like Her Majesty?!]
The Elder slowly nodded her head and smiled bittersweetly as she said, "I see... I see. You have such a strong sense of responsibility, Your Highness."
’Exactly,’ Arabella nodded in agreement but remained silent.
"I do? I think I’m just doing my duty as usual," Alwin did not understand what the elder meant since he truly indeed had too much of a sense of responsibility.
"You do, Your Highness. Someone else had severed the ties fate. It’s not your responsibility to mend it," Elder Satara added.
[Is she talking about my past life?] Alwiin finally understood what the Elder was talking about.
"The stars have aligned this time for the gods themselves have noticed the the problem. You don’t have to take it upon yourself to fix everything. They have already acted. Thus, you should focus on yourself because one day, it will be your turn," the Elder eyed him seriously.
[Is she referring to the gods turning back time?] Alwin tilted his head in contemplation.
"I am saying this for your safety, Your Highness. Please, do not earn the ire of one who has chased someone for so long. It will only bring you trouble. They will settle the score on their own someday."
"Settle the score? Who would?" Alwin tilted his head at the Elder’s riddles.
"The one who caused everything. I believe, you already know who." The Elder eyed Alwin and added with such seriousness in her eyes, "Do not provoke him."
Alwin paled when he realized who the elder was talking about. Arabella did as well.
[That entity?!!]
’That entity was the one who caused all this?’
"I see that you understand. I am not adept enough to know who exactly this entity is. But it is someone highly feared. Do not provoke such dangerous beings since they have kept a grudge for such a long time. You should lay low and be humble when you come into such presence," Elder Satara added.
"Someone is posing a threat to Alwin?" Ferdinand frowned and everyone’s gaze turned to him. He was gritting his teeth.
"Not just to Alwin, but to everyone else. Everyone should be careful. Even just saying this might put my life at risk, but it should be alright since my time is nigh anyway," Elder Satara added.
"Then shouldn’t we find these people and stop all those dangers?" Ferdinand was confident.
"No. I understand that you are strong and powerful. But even a Great Primordial such as yourself cannot fight such entities head-on, Your Majesty. Please do not try to learn more about this information and do not seek him. It will only bring forth more danger," Elder Satara warned to stop Ferdinand from trying to learn who it was.
"Someone can pose a risk to Arabella, Alwin, and everyone else and I can’t take action about it?!" Ferdinand’s brows further furrowed.
"Unfortunately, yes, Your Majesty. For now, please wait patiently until the time comes to settle the score. The right time will come. You will then understand what all these words mean," Elder Satara added.
Arabella held Ferdinand’s hand tighter. Ferdinand glanced at her and she shook her head.
Ferdinand sighed deeply and relented. "Alright."
Elder Satara then glanced at Alwin and continued, "Your Highness, you should focus on yourself and be careful. Because it will be your turn one day."
"My turn? For what?" Alwin was puzzled.
Elder Satara gazed at Alwin and smiled with mirth this time and said, "It is a quirk of fate, Your Highness. It will happen when it’s time. Though I may not live long enough to see it, I wish you all the best as you meet the one meant for you."
"Me?!! A mate?!!" Alwin frowned deeply in disagreement. "I would never... I don’t need a mate!"
