Reborn as a Mind-Reading Empress-Chapter 674: Make The Right Choices This Time
"Promise me, Ella. You will never ever do that again," Elder Satara pulled away so she could look Arabella in the eyes.
Arabella froze when she saw what was in Elder Satara’s thoughts. It was the scenery at the Magic Tower when Arabella ended her life.
’She saw that?! Then, earlier, Elder Satara was truly comforting me about the past?!’
More tears filled Arabella’s eyes as she nodded to agree to the Elder’s promise. She never thought someone would comfort her about that even when she had made a lot of terrible mistakes.
"Say it," Elder Satara added, wanting to hear Arabella promise it aloud.
"I promise. I promise I won’t do such a thing again," Arabella promised and the Elder hugged her tightly again.
"You will go through more difficulties but never surrender. The road may be rough but what you want is waiting for you," Elder Satara assured her. "Your children will be adorable darlings. I’m looking forward to meeting them."
"Thank you, Elder. That’s all the assurance I needed. I will never give up this time," Arabella promised.
"Yes, that’s good. That’s how it should be. You were meant to be right from the start. Someone just played around with the threads of fate and even decided to cut it. But the stars always realign to fix what was broken," Elder Satara reiterated.
With the Elder’s words, Arabella somehow felt that no matter what she goes through in this life, she will achieve her goals. She would be with Ferdinand and their children.
Arabella happily smiled at the thought that she would give birth to Fermin and three more children and live with them on Ferdinand’s island in Estrella.
When Arabella and Elder Satara finally separated from their tight embrace, it was Ferdinand’s turn to be all over her. He gently dried her tears with his fingers.
"What was that about? I don’t understand what’s going on. When and why would you forsake your life? Have I done something wrong that pushed you to such lengths? Please tell me," Ferdinand implored with worried and panicked eyes.
[Was it when we just got married? Was it when my marriage proposal made her part with her lover?]
"It will not happen again so do not fret," Arabella assured him. It was clear her words were not enough so she hugged him and said, "Elder said we will have adorable children. Remember that."
Ferdinand was silenced at that and gulped, his ears turned red but he did not allow himself to get sidetracked.
"Of course, I’d love to. But what about the other things you two were talking about?" Ferdinand did not let it pass.
"With all due respect, Great Primordial, there are a lot of things in this world that one is better off not knowing. It’s not yet time for you to learn about it, but you will in the future. I believe you, of all people know about this after everything you have witnessed," Elder Satara stopped Ferdinand from insisting on knowing about it. "If I may be so bold, may also see your palms?"
[Right. She seems to be one of those who can see a glimpse beyond what normal beings should. What would she see in mine?] Ferdinand gulped and nervously showed her palms to Elder Satara.
Arabella and Alwin’s gaze met. Ferdinand’s future was something they were both trying to work hard on. They nervously watched Elder Satara and waited for her reaction and what she would say hoping it would be something good.
"I... I see... You’ve been through so much as well, Great Primordial," Elder Satara paled. "My dearest Ella is finally with you so please shower her with all the love you longed to give her. Do not ever leave her all alone again or you will lose her before you know it."
"W-What’s that supposed to mean?!!" Ferdinand paled especially when he recalled that he had indeed left Arabella all alone in Riva when he went to Umbra.
"It was not about your brief absence," Elder Satara said as if she knew about what happened recently. "It’s something about long ago. Your fates have repeatedly intertwined but you have chosen to leave her alone, let her leave, or let her be with someone else," Elder Satara said and Arabella and Alwin’s gaze met.
’Is Elder Satara speaking about our past life?’ Arabella gulped.
"What?!! I will never do that! Arabella is mine. I will never do such things," Ferdinand was horrified.
"You did repeatedly before. And thus, you reaped what you sow. However, it was not your fault entirely either. Thanks to your efforts, the gods believed in your determination and have finally rewarded your devotion," Elder Satara corrected.
Ferdinand was confused since he knew he would fight like hell to keep Arabella to himself. Unless Arabella chooses to leave him. But even then, he knew he would still try to keep her by his side.
"This is your last chance to be with Ella. After this, your fates might never meet again no matter how long you wait. So, please treasure her and this last chance you worked so hard to achieve. You will be faced with challenges once again, but I’m sure those are nothing compared to what you have been through before," Elder Satara added.
[She speaks like she knew what My Lord went through for the gods to approve his wish.] Alwin gulped.
Ferdinand frowned in confusion at the Elder’s words since he did not have memories of the past. But both Arabella and Alwin understood what Elder Satara meant. Or perhaps, she meant something more.
Arabella felt like she had heard some of these in her dreams before but could not recall exactly what her dream was about.
"I don’t understand," Ferdinand wanted the Elder to elaborate.
"You will in due time. Now is not the right time. But when the time comes, you will understand everything. And I hope you make the right choices this time," Elder Satara said.
