Chapter 669: Chapter 669: New Ring Feature

Ferdinand still noticed Arabella’s enthusiasm even when she tried to hide it so he would not feel bad again.

"Remember that if anything happens, you can speak with me anytime through our wedding ring. As long as you are wearing it, you will be able to speak with me," Ferdinand reminded Arabella about the new feature he added to their rings.

He went to Estrella to do it while she was asleep just to add the feature to their ring because he was envious that she kept communicating with Alwin through the summoning ring.

Thus, he made their wedding ring have the same function but without Arabella having to rub it thrice. She simply needed to have the ring with her and try calling out to him to initiate a conversation.

Arabella rather liked this feature since she would be able to speak with Ferdinand immediately during emergencies.

"Yes, thank you for adding this feature. I love it," Arabella beamed and Ferdinand smiled happily.

[I’m glad she likes it. I thought she would scold me for trying to monopolize her attention again.]

"Why would I scold you? I like it that I’m able to speak with you now even if we are apart," Arabella caressed her wedding ring.

Ferdinand was speechless and his ears turned red.

[I love how she looks at our ring so affectionately like this.]

Ferdinand kissed the back of her hand. He looked like he was about to do more but the sound of footsteps walking to the carriage door stopped him.

"Right. We should get going. I will speak with you if something happens," Arabella assured her husband.

Rendell opened the door and Ferdinand got out first. Ferdinand then offered his hand and helped Arabella get off the carriage.

Right when Arabella exited the carriage, Elder Satara arrived to greet them.

"Elder Satara!" Arabella beamed once she saw the Elder.

Elder Satara looked the same as she did as she recalled in her past life. An elderly with a mysterious aura about her. But Arabella rather liked that about Elder Satara.

The latter told her so many stories about elves, fairies, and other beings who also live in this world. And now that Ferdinand and Alwin felt the presence of an elf here, perhaps that was why Elder Satara had so many stories about them. She had one of the long-lived races as an acquaintance and thus, knew about their existence.

It had been so long since she last saw the Elder that Arabella could not help but run and hug the latter.

Ever since Arabella’s grandmother died, Elder Satara became like another grandmother to her.

She was glad Elder Satara was doing well.

"Oh my, I missed you too," Elder Satara chuckled and rubbed Arabella’s back. But then, Arabella felt the Elder suddenly stiffen.

"Elder Satara?" Arabella peeked at the Elder’s expression and realized that the Elder was staring at Ferdinand.

[A primordial dragon?!!! Ella’s husband is a primordial dragon?!!!]

Arabella was wide-eyed when she heard Elder Satara’s thoughts.

’Elder Satara knows about primordial dragons?!!!’

[I see. So she’s the elf all along.] Ferdinand thought and Arabella’s neck could have snapped at how rapidly she spun around to look at her husband when she heard his thoughts.

’What does that mean? Did Ferdinand just think that Elder Satara is the elf they felt earlier?!’

Arabella glanced back and forth at Elder Satara and Ferdinand. Then she glanced at Alwin.

{Yes, it appears she is the elf whose presence we felt at the palace.} Alwin confirmed.

’Elder Satara is an elf?!’ Arabella gulped and blinked twice as she stared at the Elder.

[Arabella seems close to her. Is this why she loved elves the most?] Ferdinand thought as he stared back at the Elder.

’What should I do?’ Arabella was lost for a few seconds.

As the silence ensued, the servants turned pale in nervousness.

Arabella decided that she needed to break the ice first. Thus, she said, "Elder Satara, this is Emperor Ferdinand Valeria, my husband."

[I need to greet the Great Primordial but Ella probably doesn’t have a clue that her husband is a dragon. I’ll follow human customs for now.]

"Greetings to Your Imperial Majesty," Elder Satara greeted Ferdinand as the Emperor, not as the Great Primordial.

"Please be at ease, I came here with My Empress because she wanted to see you," Ferdinand responded.

{We will talk about your presence here later once you have asked your servants to leave.} Ferdinand added telepathically.

{Yes, Great Primordial. My apologies for being unable to greet you properly.} Elder Satara responded.

"Then, let us head inside first," Elder Satara ushered them to a guest room.

{You must have already learned from our thoughts. It turns out that your Elder Satara is the elf whose presence we felt.} Ferdinand informed Arabella.

{Yes, so this means Elder Satara had lived for so long and lived here for a while?} Arabella was curious.

{Yes, she’s older than Alwin so she’s likely more than 6 millennia old. But her mana is very weak, likely due to staying here in the human realm this whole time. With how old the trees were that are surrounding her residence, it seems she had indeed lived here for a while. Likely, after the Great War. If recall it right, this place was in flames back then.} Ferdinand explained.

Arabella was astounded at what she learned. She was about to ask for more information but they reached the guest room and were ushered to seat.

Once they were seated, Elder Satara sat as well.

Tea and refreshments were then served by the maids as part of the formalities when entertaining guests.

Meanwhile, the gifts for Elder Satara were brought in by Rendell and the knights. Alwin could have just teleported everything but they needed to bring it by hand as part of the formalities.

Once all the gifts were inside, the knights were dismissed. Rendell and Alwin stayed with Arabella and Ferdinand inside.

"Tell Laurence to head here immediately," Elder Satara instructed her maids. "Except for the Head Maid, you’re all dismissed."

The servants glanced at each other, visibly worried due to the tense atmosphere but they bowed and left. Only the Head Maid stayed with Elder Satara.
