Hearing that, Leon could not help his innate instinct to boast in front of a friend as he added. "And I became a Warmachine Specialist".
Ren Nora looked at him with a smile as his eyes twinkled. "Oh yeah, I almost forgot that the entire sequence of events was also a Trial for you".
"It sounds crazier the more I think about it".
Leon chuckled, but then his eyes also twinkled as he looked at Ren Nora. "With your information gathering abilities, I believe that you already know about the abilities of a D Rank Warmachine Specialist, but I don’t know the abilities of the Glitch!"
Ren Nora already knew where Leon was driving at. He knew what Leon meant but he didn’t resist it, instead he simply chuckled and shrugged. "Apart from Kai, you’re going to be the first person that I tell what my true abilities are".
"Garfield never asked, and over the years, though my rivals have ideas, none of them truly know the true depths and the core of what a Glitch means". Ren Nora’s eyes ignited with pride.
Hearing that, again Leon felt surprised. ’After my Trial, in that futuristic mechanic factory, I got detailed explanation for all 3 Class Specializations of the Mechanist Class’.
’Was that an anomaly?
’The Director-Prime is likely a NetRunner too. If he doesn’t know Ren Nora’s true abilities, does that mean it’s unusual for Ascended to know the abilities of their neighboring Class Specializations?’
Leon’s eyes widened slightly. ’Is this another hidden boon of the ChronoSystem?’
The more he grew and developed as an Ascended, the more he realized just how important and how far-reaching the influence of the ChronoSystem was.
This also explained why some Ascended ended up choosing certain Class Specializations even when it seemed like there was a clear strongest of the Specializations of their Class. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦
Leon’s eyes twinkled. ’I didn’t even realize the advantage that I was enjoying, the ChronoSystem is the best!’
While all these thoughts went through Leon’s mind, Ren Nora remained oblivious as in a comfortable position on his luxurious office chair, he crossed his right leg over his left and started.
Again, he showed no hesitation in telling Leon his abilities despite the fact that this was supposed to be one of the core secrets of an Ascended.
This once again showed how much trust existed between them.
"You should already know the abilities of a D Rank Infoseer of the NetRunner Class, but I’ll still briefly explain them to enable you understand the full extent of my abilities at C Rank".
"The NetRunner Class has 3 Class Specializations at D Rank- the Mindbreaker, the Code Phantom, and the Cyber Saint".
"You should already have an idea of what each Specialization’s abilities are having participated in the war, I’ll focus on the abilities of a Code Phantom".
"At D Rank, Infoseers unlock 3 general abilities; Neural Hack which enables us to seize control of target systems, Feedback Burst which enables us to emit psychic pulse to disrupt electronics, and Psi-Link Relay which is a passive ability that enables us to share limited senses with allies through the psionic network".
"At D Rank, Psi-Link Relay only enables us to sense when allies of other Classes are having a burst of extreme emotion like strong anxiety when experiencing danger, but between fellow NetRunners, we can share simple thoughts through the psionic network which enables better coordination in battle".
"Besides the 3 general Infoseer NetRunner abilities, a Code Phantom unlock 3 specialized abilities- Lithium Overload, Ghost-in-the-Machine, and Quantum Dictator".
"Lithium Overload enables a Code Phantom to overload computer systems and batteries, causing violent chemical reactions which can lead to internal heating, gas buildup, and violent swelling in batteries".
"As for Ghost-in-the-Machine, it is what gives us the title as the fastest Class Specialization in the world".
"With it, we’re like a fish in water in the psionic network. It gives us indiscriminate teleportation through the psionic network, and with it, we can even hide in the psionic network for a few seconds to minutes away from reality though this drains a lot of ADE".
"This is a level of cyber hiding that’s far more advanced than Neural Projection, and it’s full proof. And while hiding, we can also hop through the psionic network to distant network nodes, escaping".
"No Class can counter this level of hiding and escape, not even other D Rank NetRunner Specializations".
"Only a D Rank Code Phantom can counter another Code Phantom".
He smiled. "Before you ask, the reason why I didn’t use this during the battles in the war is because my soldiers needed my presence in the battlefield, not away from it".
"My presence is what gives them the morale to keep on fighting".
Ren Nora rocked back and forth in his chair. "This single ability makes a Code Phantom a very effective cyber assassin".
"They can come and go without being caught".
"And then Quantum Dictator, it enables a Code Phantom to instantly hack and directly control sensors and systems".
"It is the greatest and most devastating kind of cyber hacking at D Rank".
"Against a fresh and prepared Code Phantom, not even the cyber defense of warships can last a second against Quantum Dictator but just like most overpowered abilities like it, it drains a lot of ADE with each use".
"The combination of all these abilities is what makes a D Rank NetRunner of the Code Phantom Specialization, and this was the me you knew then".
Ren Nora grinned. "But these days, I’ve upgraded".
"I’ve upgraded for more than 130 years, you were just never there to witness it". He bragged, making Leon to roll his eyes.
Ren Nora continued. "C Rank NetRunners are titled ’Data Phantasms’ and like you should already know having seen General Sylvari use it, our general ability is called Data Manifestation".
"At C Rank, NetRunners experience a Class Awakening where our neural psionic ghost form fuses with digital reality to create a Digital Construct Field".
"A Digital Construct Field is like a graphical user interface, and it’s what enables us to utilize the core ability of the Class at C Rank, Data Manifestation".
"When activated, Data Manifestation enables a C Rank NetRunner to materialize data constructs like weapons, avatars, or even illusions into real space. It’s only limited by the imagination of the user".
"At C Rank, Ascended unlock only 1 potent Class Specialization ability".
"A C Rank NetRunner of the Mindbreaker Specialization unlocks Neural Tyrant which gives them the ability to command lesser minds or A.Is".
"As for a C Rank NetRunner of the Code Phantom Specialization like me," Ren Nora grinned. "We become the Glitch".
"The name of our ability is Shadow Node".
