Reborn as a Mechanist with a God-Tier System-Chapter 254: Warmachine Specialist
Of the 3 D Rank Mechanist Class Specializations, having been prepared a bit for it through the knowledge that he learned through Major Roshfield before attempting the Trial, Leon immediately divided them into 3 categories.
He could tell that compared to other Class Specializations, the 3 Class Specializations of the Mechanist Class was unique.
But still, he saw certain similarities between them and the 3 Class Specializations of the Gene Augur Class.
The Gene Augur Class is the Class representing toughness and defense, and yet at D Rank, they get 2 Class Specializations that focus on increasing both their direct offensive power and defense, while the last Specialization only grants little boost to physicality compared to the 2 other Class Specializations.
In comparison, the Mechanist Class represents creation and ingenuity.
And of the 3 Class Specializations so far, Leon’s first impression was that both Warmachine and Technician focus on increasing the creation and construction talent of a Mechanist, while the last Specialization is the deviant.
Compared to the first 2, the Cannon Master Specialization focus more on offensive power and Leon’s guess was that just like the Bioforger Class grants little boost to physicality, the Cannon Master Specialization likely also sacrifices creation boosts in favor of raw combat power and offensive boosts.
To a Mechanist like Leon whose combat style was built on versatility, unpredictability, and the ability to adapt to any battlefield situation, this reduced the appeal of the Cannon Master Specialization significantly.
But he didn’t decide yet.
And this was what helped him create the 3 categories corresponding to the 3 Specializations: hybrid, combat, and pure construction.
All 3 Class Specializations had their merit but Leon already realized that to gain one, you’ll have to sacrifice two others.
In his categorization, hybrid represented the Warmachine Specialist. It was the most balanced Specialization of the 3 and it focused more on numbers.
At F Rank, all Mechanists get is Construct and Deconstruct.
But at E Rank, the Class branched into battle-related abilities even as E Rank Mechanists also unlock more construction-related abilities like Nanotechnology.
Leon’s categorization showed that the Warmachine Specialist was the only hybrid of the 3 Class Specializations that combined the uniqueness of F Rank and E Rank advantages for a balanced but not directly OP Class Specialization.
The Warmachine Specialization embodied the aspect of combat with the Command Link Network ability, while also embodying the aspect of sabotage with Blueprint Conversion, and finally the construction aspect of the Mechanist Class with Warforge to create a balanced Class Specialization.
The importance of Command Link Network could not be overstated.
Leon already had the idea long ago to create offensive weapons that could help him and if possible autonomously fight alongside him.
With the sword drones, he already tried to create something offensive and combat-related with his Drone Control Matrix ability, but Command Link Network embraced this idea even more, expanding on it.
With Command Link Network, he had the ability to command 20 Mechanist units, controlling them seamlessly like an extension of his body just like with Drone Control Matrix.
These 20 Mechanist units can be 20 Doom Rover v0.1s!
This ability alone could singlehandedly enhance and amplify his combat power countless times over.
Blueprint Conversion was also incredible as it gave him the ability of sabotage to influence and participate in large-scale battles like the aerial invasion of Leviathan Quay or the aerial battle above Iron Reef.
The cost for each use of the ability was extremely high especially when targeting big, but Leon realized that if he decided to spend all of his ADE at a go on this, he could potentially hijack a warship!
This was crazy considering the offensive power of a single warship.
Despite this, Leon realized that Blueprint Conversion’s main utility was when used against other Mechanists.
This ability could be deadly when used against another Mechanists considering that they’ll also have their own unique constructs.
And this is where stats come to play. In the end, a battle between high-ranking Mechanists would turn into a battle of WIL and INT when Blueprint Conversion is involved.
The Mechanist with higher WIL and INT will win the Blueprint Conversion tug of war.
But of the 3 Warmachine abilities though, Warforge was what charmed Leon most about this Class Specialization.
This ability embodied what he loved most about the Mechanist Class, the ability of instantaneous improvisation on the go.
The ability to deploy a rapid-assembly factory drone that is capable of manufacturing battlefield units in real time was OP.
With it, Leon could decide to manufacture weapons mid-battle. The more blueprints he had, the more OP and versatile Warforge would become.
And if possible, he could even manufacture Doom Rover v0.1s mid-battle!
Leon wasn’t yet sure how much the D Rank promotion would improve his Construction ability, but if he became good enough to reduce the creation time of a Doom Rover to within an hour, he could theoretically create entirely new Doom Rovers each hour with Warforge.
This would turn him into a battlefield tyrant.
The Class abilities aside, Leon also focused on the Class Specialization Exclusive Blueprints.
Of the 3 exclusive blueprints that comes with the Warmachine Specialization, one is a Gun Drone, the other is a Mech Frame, and the last is an Aerial Scout.
Leon already had ideas of creating a Mech before, but now he saw a Class Specialization that directly presented it.
The Sentry-IV Autocannon Drone is a mobile tactical unit that’s designed for suppressive fire. It features a rotating barrel assembly mounted on a stabilized hovering chassis, utilizing high-velocity ammunition to shred enemy cover.
It was a true Machine Gun Drone.
As for the Bulwark MK.II Titan Frame, the powerful mech suit is a massive bipedal humanoid machine that is built for frontline durability.
This blueprint was a hybrid, featuring reinforced hydraulic joints for heavy lifting and integrated weapon hardpoints for shoulder-mounted artillery. It also had the internal musculature design for high-speed movement and melee combat.
It was a vastly evolved version of the Doom Rover v0.1, and unlike the Doom Rover, he could directly enter this one to control it into battle.
It was a true Combat Mech.
It was everything that Leon ever dreamed about, and it had a unique chip that generates an invisible psionic barrier around the Mech, protecting it from NetRunner sabotage and attacks.
In all of Neo-Tokara, only Warmachine Specialists have the reliable version of a Mech that is not susceptible to NetRunner attacks and only they have the knowledge to create the unique chip that generates the psionic barrier.
As for the Zerphyr-7 Stealth Reconnaissance UAV, it is a lightweight, high-altitude scout that’s designed for long-range surveillance.
It uses silent rotor technology and advanced thermal optics to map battlefields without being detected.
It can be unmanned like a drone, and it can also be manned by 2 people.
About the Class Specialization Exclusive Blueprints, Leon made his own interpretation as he suspected that each blueprint came with a corresponding extinct, long-forgotten Class Knowledge that enables only a Warmachine Specialist to construct them.
This explained why the blueprints were not more widespread. Afterall, only a Warmachine Specialist had the knowledge to construct them and maybe only they could even use them.
The combination of all these- the abilities, the blueprints, and the suspected hybrid enhancement to both combat and construction talent made Leon extremely interested in the Warmachine Specialization.
But he didn’t make his decision yet, he was in no rush.
He took his time to analyze the 2 other Class Specializations.
