Manman, with every right, showed no sign of guilt, and the two maidservants, seemingly ignorant of the details, quietly retreated to the side. The two servants too seemed intimidated by Manman.

Manman boldly marched out.

The two servants followed her, blocking Manman.

"Miss, you can’t leave yet."

Manman’s eyes narrowed; things were worse than she had imagined. Cai Xiu aimed to have her killed, but why? She barely knew her, and had no grievances with anyone in this manor. Maybe she should have let Shen Liu come out earlier, but what would it mean for her to hide in Shen Liu’s room?

In such a situation, all she could do was wait for Shen Liu to save her. Shen Liu, come and save her. Manman clenched her left fist. Just moments ago, when parting, Shen Liu had written a word in her palm: "Promise." Shen Liu also told her it was his name.

It was the first time Manman learned Shen Liu’s name. He... would come to save her, right?
