Reborn as a Devouring Dragon with a System-Chapter 65: Summoning a Dragonoid (2)
Chapter 65: Summoning a Dragonoid (2)
Ding!
Name of Summoned Dragonoid: Quin
Cultivation: ???? (Restricted to Peak Origin Ancestor Realm)
A human who inherited the four core attributes of the Five-Element Dragon—the power to wield the five elements, the breath of the dragon, the strength of the dragon, and the scales of the dragon. Recognized as one of the strongest Dragonoids, said to rival even the true dragons.
As Drake read the information, a cold shiver raced down his spine. This frail-looking young man hadn’t just inherited two or three traits of a dragon—he possessed all of them. And judging by the dragon referenced by the system, this wasn’t just any dragon.
"Five-Element Dragon..." Drake heard the astonishment in Drax’s voice.
"You know the Five-Element Dragon?" Drake asked, eyes still fixed on Quin.
"The Five-Element Dragon is one of the most powerful beings within the Dragon Clan," Drax explained solemnly. "Most dragons can’t even match up to it. Its strength and power surpass almost all. It commands the five elements: Fire, Water, Earth, Metal, and Wood."
Drake turned his gaze toward Quin again. The ability to control the five elements... It was something rare—something typically reserved for protagonists or peak figures in web novels and light novels.
The golden-haired old man was visibly shaken. He stared at Quin, stunned by the sudden transformation. The youth’s aura was boundless, overwhelming—far more terrifying than before. Worse still, the old man’s instincts were screaming... screaming danger.
Quin’s eyes narrowed slightly. He raised his hand slowly.
"Five-Element Dragon Art: Five-Element Dragon Unleash."
In the very next moment, the sky split.
The crowd—Drake and his allies included—watched in frozen disbelief. It was as though the world itself had reached its end.
A colossal dragon erupted from the spell—a beast cloaked in five-colored scales. Its eyes glowed with the aura of both creation and destruction. Its wings stretched across the sky, blotting out the sun. Its tail coiled like a celestial pillar forged from all five elements.
Then it moved.
The Five-Element Dragon roared through the air and surged toward the golden-haired old man.
The old man narrowed his eyes and snorted.
"Fire Saint Art: Heavenly Blazing Palm!"
"First Move: Scorching Ember Art!"
As Drake and Kaidros watched the old man begin his assault, they immediately understood—the attacks their previous opponents had used were child’s play compared to this.
The old man raised his palm. It looked ordinary at first glance, but the moment it moved, it radiated an intense, suffocating heat—so much so that it no longer resembled a hand, but a searing flame itself.
With a powerful roar, the old man launched the blazing palm toward the Five-Element Dragon. It collided. The dragon was engulfed in flames.
But then... the fire vanished.
Absorbed.
The dragon devoured the flames like water.
Just that one clash between the two titans obliterated kilometers of terrain, flattening everything in its path. The shockwave blasted the crowd backward, forcing them to flee and retreat far from the battlefield.
The old man’s eyes widened in disbelief as he watched the dragon consume his flames effortlessly.
"Second Move: Inferno Burst Palm!"
He didn’t hesitate. The ground beneath him burst into a sea of fire, the inferno roaring toward the dragon. But still—it had no effect. The Five-Element Dragon pushed forward through the blaze, unfazed. The old man’s expression hardened.
"Third Move: Sunfire Palm Strike!"
Golden flames surged in the old man’s palms. Without delay, he hurled a flurry of blinding strikes at the oncoming dragon. Each one detonated with overwhelming force, setting the skies ablaze in golden fury.
Yet the dragon emerged unharmed, unrelenting in its charge.
"Fourth Move: Blazing Heaven Palm!"
The old man roared in fury, stretching both hands forward. His entire body erupted into divine flame, glowing with a sacred, celestial radiance. The onlookers trembled—the very heavens seemed to respond to the power he summoned.
Then, once more, he struck.
The palm, blazing with heaven’s wrath, smashed into the Five-Element Dragon, engulfing it and the surrounding space in devastating fire. Nothing was spared. The land trembled. Silence fell.
The figure of the dragon vanished.
All was still.
And then...
"An ant will always be an ant," came Quin’s mocking voice, echoing loud and clear.
The crowd gasped.
He had forced the Raging Emperor to unleash four high-level arts—and had countered them all with a single skill.
The onlookers were shaken to their core. Those who had ridiculed Quin earlier now desperately tried to hide themselves, shame and regret written on their faces.
ROAR!
The moment Quin spoke, a thunderous draconic roar echoed across the battlefield. The Five-Element Dragon lifted its head toward the heavens and unleashed a roar that shook the very sky—unharmed, untouched, unbroken.
This time, the golden-haired old man felt himself unraveling. Each of his attacks had seemed like an ordinary display of skill, but in truth, every single one contained a complete Fire Law.
Even the Blazing Heaven Palm—which carried both Fire Law and Destruction Law—had failed to scratch the scales of the Five-Element Dragon, a being conjured from a single skill.
"Who are you?" the golden-haired young man turned toward Quin, his voice trembling with fear and confusion.
"You are not worthy to know," Quin replied coldly, offering not even a shred of face.
The charging dragon brought the old man back to the moment. He looked at the oncoming dragon—then turned toward his son, eyes heavy with resolve. Today had opened his eyes. Today had made him realize... in front of true power, he was merely an ant.
"Fire Saint Art: Heavenly Blazing Palm!"
"Final Move: Divine Flame Worldbreaker Palm!"
Meters of terrain around the old man ignited instantly, divine flames radiating with an overwhelming aura. Quin’s brows lifted slightly—surprised, before shaking his head in disappointment.
This time, the old man infused an additional law into his strike. The descending palm took on the form of a colossal divine hand, aflame and god-like, tearing down from the heavens to smite the great dragon below.
As the divine palm descended, the Five-Element Dragon roared furiously—as though offended—and charged headlong into the strike. The moment their energies met, a cataclysmic explosion erupted. Shockwaves blasted the sky, ripping across the horizon with force so immense the heavens themselves looked ready to crack.
Then it happened.
A golden flash shot through the broken sky, piercing through the clouds, fleeing toward the inner range of the Origin Continent.
"He sure runs quickly," Quin snorted.
The third law the old man had used—Palm Law—was far too much for the clone, which only carried twenty percent of the original’s power. Using a third law had sealed its fate.
Even if that final attack could have defeated the Five-Element Dragon, Quin himself remained untouched. And in the end, the clone’s true mission had been to protect his son.
With his last ounce of strength, the old man had teleported Leo and himself back to the Ignis Clan in the Soran Empire.
ROAR!
From the heart of the fading explosion, a draconic roar split the silence once more. The Five-Element Dragon emerged unscathed. Quin waved his hand, and the dragon descended, shrinking into pure energy as it returned into his body.
Drake stared, utterly stunned—shocked, overwhelmed... and filled with an inexplicable excitement. The entire battle hadn’t even lasted two minutes, and yet the number of explosive clashes felt beyond reason.
Still dazed, he looked at Quin, awe etched deep into his expression.
"Well, my job here is done. Farewell, Dragon Emperor."
Quin’s form shimmered, fading. In the blink of an eye, he transformed into a glowing card that floated through the air and landed gently before Drake.
The card shimmered with Quin’s likeness, complete with detailed information provided by the Appraisal.
Ding!
Dragonoid Summoning Card
A card that allows the special summoning of a specific Dragonoid. Has a cooldown period of seven days.
Drake’s eyes widened. Seven days? But considering Quin’s strength... it made sense.
Ding!
[The duration of Maturitas will end in five seconds]
Drake’s heart skipped. So Brother Bad Luck is still nearby...
Without hesitation, he turned to Kaidros and the others.
"Move!"
In an instant, they vanished from the battlefield, disappearing into the forest.
Once they reached a secure location, Drake teleported them back to the Dragon Palace. Though they hadn’t accomplished what they originally came for, every one of them had gained something invaluable.
Back at the battlefield, onlookers were left dumbfounded. Some attempted to follow the dragons, intrigued by their presence. But the moment they gave chase, their targets were gone—completely vanished.
They scoured the entire forest, but not a single trace could be found. Frustrated and restless, they returned to Beastial Town, plastering flyers on every wall and post, driven by a desperate hunger to uncover more about the mysterious figures connected to the dragon—and to Quin. Perhaps, just perhaps, they might unearth the secret to summoning or even controlling a dragon.
Within mere minutes, rumors of their appearance had spread like wildfire across the southern part of the Origin Continent. Everywhere, people searched frantically, chasing shadows and whispers—desperate to catch even a glimpse of them
