Reborn as a Devouring Dragon with a System-Chapter 28: New Draconic Bloodline: Saving the Three Rabbits
Chapter 28: New Draconic Bloodline: Saving the Three Rabbits
"Since it’s someone from the Dragon Clan, then I can have assurance of the safety of my children—that they are safe," the rabbit said with a smile.
When Drake heard this, he was a bit confused.
"My life will soon end. I will use this last opportunity to give birth to them using my energy, which will cause my instant death. But my heart is restless—it is like leaving them in the jaws of predators," the rabbit sighed.
Drake got the gist of it. If the rabbit gave birth and died, the children wouldn’t last a day, as they wouldn’t be able to differentiate between a foe and a friend.
Even without the rabbit continuing, he understood what she wanted to do. Taking a look at the rabbit, who was busy petting her stomach gently, he could feel the motherly love from her. Even though the rabbit had killed numerous beasts and different races, to her children, she was just a mother.
"Alright, I promise to take care of your children until they grow up," Drake said. When the Thunder Hopper heard this, she was delighted.
The rabbit then sat. In the next moment, Drake heard three more squeaks of rabbits, surprising him. But the life of the mother was already slipping away.
"Hmph, it seems all your aura and talk were just a façade," the voice of the Thunder Tiger rang out as both Drake and the rabbit turned to the entrance of the open cave, seeing the tiger lying in wait.
The rabbit mother, whose lifeforce was slipping away, stopped as she regained her composure, holding her children protectively. When Drake saw this, he was surprised. Indeed, motherly love can’t be understood or explained.
"You can take your rest. Don’t worry, since I promised to protect them, I will protect them to the end," Drake smiled.
"What are you both doing? How dare you ignore me!" the tiger roared menacingly when it saw this. Drake didn’t bother himself with it. When the rabbit heard this, she too was calm, as she knew what was before her.
Hearing Drake’s words, she felt relieved, slowly transferring her body into Drake’s small hands. Since the children were small, they were able to fit in his hands. There were three in number.
Immediately the rabbit mother did this, "My children, take care of yourselves," she said, then gave up the ghost.
"The children can’t survive for long. They were born prematurely, so they weren’t expected to be born into this world if not for their mother forcefully giving birth to them," Drax’s voice rang out.
When Drake heard this, he was surprised. Taking a look at the hairless rabbits that were lively, there were no symptoms of anything wrong with them—but he knew Drax couldn’t lie.
The Thunder Tiger saw Drake not listening or even looking at it, "How dare you, young human, ignore me?! I will let you visit heaven today!" the Thunder Tiger roared as it struck toward Drake.
"Keep quiet." Draco unsheathed the Death Reaper with one of his hands, still using the other to support the newborn rabbits. With a slash of the Death Reaper, the Thunder Tiger found its leg severed, making it look at Drake warily, keeping a distance from him.
The Tiger began to wonder who Drake was. It hadn’t truly seen the movement of the scythe that Draco used, making it feel a bit of fear.
Drake didn’t bother looking at the Tiger. "So what are we going to do?" He was already regretting making a promise to keep the rabbits alive until they grew up.
"Well, only if they undergo Draconic bloodline impartation in the Dragon Pool can they survive. And the percentage of success is 50/50. If they aren’t able to withstand the bloodline, they will die, and if they are able, they will survive," Drax explained.
"Also, that crystal should be able to help in creating a new Draconic bloodline—and one compatible with them," he added.
When Drake heard this, he calmed down. One mustn’t break a promise.
It was then he finally had time for the Thunder Tiger. He took a step forward and, in an instant, the limbs were cut off. freёnovelkiss.com
"If you were at your full combat strength, it would have been a problem and a hassle killing you. But now, you only have ten percent of your combat strength," Drake grinned with a fiendish smile.
He was already above the Thunder Wolf with his scythe close to its head; the wolf was already shivering in fear.
"Wait, don’t kill me! I can be of help to you!" the Thunder Wolf quickly said.
"Did you spare their mother? Don’t forget the world we live in—only the strongest fist reigns," Drake grinned. His words made the Thunder Tiger sink into depression before it attacked Drake.
Drake snorted, appearing above its head. As he wanted to strike, he paused, looking at the children.
"It’s better for the children to avenge their mother. So prepare your head," Drake said. In the next moment, he walked away, carrying the corpse of their mother with him.
The Thunder Tiger had already been expecting death, but after a few minutes, it felt nothing like that—before it noticed that Drake had disappeared.
Without wasting much time, it burst out of the area. It had never seen such a young child so monstrously powerful.
As for Drake, after settling the corpse of the mother, he suddenly saw that one of the rabbits was already emitting death aura. Their squeaks had calmed down.
Without wasting much time, Drake quickly teleported back to the Dragon Palace, rushing toward the Dragon Pool.
When he got there, "What should I do next?" Drake asked Drax.
"Put the crystal in the mouth of the dragon," Drax said, which Drake followed.
