Reborn; A Slave to the World-Chapter 73: Reunited with The Party(1)
Chapter 73: Reunited with The Party(1)
I don’t know what to expect from her when I’m being so open about what I believe is the right decision. She’s a follower of the cult and a leader at that so how could I convince her with just the truth alone.
"Nyxoria won’t destroy the world but I do understand how that is mixed up. I believe she’s the reason we were brought here Artemis." Isabel says with confidence.
The goddess of death, the goddess of death. It honestly is something I didn’t think much about before but she’s got a point, how else would we have been brought here?
Nyxoria brought us here to serve some sort of purpose, even if that purpose is unclear at this moment in time. I don’t plan to serve some cult or to believe everything she’s telling me right now.
I’m standing by my mission to eliminate the cult entirely so that the world can continue to have a chance to move forward.
"I don’t know how I could convince you to join us on our journey since we want to eliminate the cult." Artemis replies honestly.
If she wants to fight me then I won’t have a choice but to fight against... I’ll just have to avoid killing her at all costs. fгee𝑤ebɳoveɭ.cøm
Isabel’s smile still remains as she sits there peacefully. "I’m more tempted to join out of curiosity if anything. I’d like to see if you could truly stop the rest of the cult when we are so spread out." Isabel speaks with a bit of interest in her voice.
I should’ve had a feeling that she might consider that possibility since she’s from another world like me. Curiosity is something we both seem to have a lot of so I hope that it’ll be worth her time.
It gives me hope that maybe I can make a difference in this world by going through with this journey. Being able to bring people like her and Liora to my side will be a big game changer down the road.
I don’t know if she’ll help with fighting just yet since she is just joining out of curiosity potentially.
"So does that mean you’re joining or are you just toying with the idea?" Artemis asks before waiting for her response.
The rest of the party will be quite confused by yet another one of my decisions so that will be a fun thing to deal with. I’ve never gotten to explain much with Mizuki yet or to see if she’s trustworthy yet.
Our group has grown rather large over the last few weeks, I don’t know how we’ll go about it soon. After Isabel it might be best to keep the numbers as is for the time being.
At least until we have a good place to stay that we can connect at whenever we need to take a breather. Maybe shimada can help with setting something up, unless the king here gives me quite the reward for saving him.
"I’ll join for now, or at least until you fail to defeat the cult." She answers while standing up.
I could feel myself smiling even if she couldn’t see it behind my mask, this was a pretty big deal. We just got one of the leaders of the cult to join us instead of fighting against us.
They chat for a little while longer before eventually resting for a bit since the two of them were exhausted. It wasn’t hard for them to make a temporarily bed since it would only be a few hours of rest.
I wasn’t going to sleep directly next to her for the night so I did give a bit of space— We’ll be back at the Golden Apple inn after we are rested. I’d like to get back there before the others wake up.
Everyone is going to have a bunch of questions for me when I return to the room in a few hours. I’m sure someone has woken up by now, more than likely it was probably Amelia.
"Rest up Artemis. You’ve got to introduce me to the others later so we need sleep." Isabel says before rolling over in the makeshift bed.
Artemis got comfortable and didn’t say too much after realizing that she was right. Sleep was something he skipped out on lately since he felt like it was his job to watch over everyone.
A few hours go by, the sun hasn’t come up yet. It’s late in the night.
Artemis jolts up to see that Isabel is still nearby and asleep, nothing has changed since he went to bed. The worry that she’d be gone has disappeared after realizing everything was fine.
She could’ve disappeared easily if she wanted to so I shouldn’t be stressing about it.
No one has really done anything wrong to me in this world just yet so I don’t get why I’m like this every damn time. Fighting myself to believe that people are going to stay by my side.
Isabel sits up slowly and wipes her eyes as she looks over at Artemis. "Are we going now?" She asks with a bit of a sleepy tone to her voice.
"I’d say that we can go now if you are ready." Artemis responds while slowly standing up.
It’ll be better than letting my thoughts overwhelm me right now anyway. I get frustrated with it sometimes but I can’t help that it’s how I am.
"You going to carry me there?" Isabel asks with a small smile across her face.
Artemis nods his head before picking her up and dashing out of the top of the tower, it wasn’t hard for him to get around this place now. He had a good idea of the layout after running all over the kingdom.
The Golden Apple inn wasn’t very far from where they were so it would be a quick trip, especially with how fast Artemis has gotten.
I can see a light on in one of the rooms that we’re staying in so someone is already awake. This will be quite an interesting reunion after disappearing while everyone else was asleep.
He reaches the inn with no problems and brings her upstairs to the room he was staying in with Amelia and Cynthia. Of course that is the exact room that the lights are on in.
Lanterns were lit to be exact. "You’re back." Amelia speaks as her eyes trail off towards Isabel.
I can see that I’ll need to explain this right away before anyone else decides to say anything about it.
