Rebirth: The Heiress Plans Her Revenge-Chapter 82: Meimei Wants To Meet Her Parents
Chapter 82: Chapter 82: Meimei Wants To Meet Her Parents
Suddenly, she heard her phone ringing. It was a muffled sound and if she did not have a good g?hearing, she would not have grasped the sound immediately.
She quickly jumped from the bed as she could recognize that ringtone anywhere.
She rushed to a safe, and she opened it, bringing out an old-fashioned phone which sort of had an antenna.
"Hello, Meimei," she greeted.
"Xiaomi, when will you introduce me to mum and dad?" It was a little girl’s voice, and one could hear the complaints in the little girl’s voice.
"Meimei, I also want to introduce you to mom and dad, but as it stands now, they still haven’t gotten back their memories," Li Chuxi replied with her hands on her forehead.
She might be a five-year-old, but she was mature, this was due to the genes of her parents, Li Qiang and Xin Yan.
Yes, Li Chuxi was no ordinary child. She was the child who belonged to both Li Qiang and Xin Yan. The story she told earlier today was about the both of them, but there was more to it.
"Then, can’t you do things which will cause them to regain their memories? You have always been the smart one, or should I show up?" Meimei asked in a sour tone.
"No!" Li Chuxi instinctively refused.
"I mean, it is not safe here, and I cannot force the memories on them, do you not want mom and dad to be safe? If I do force them to recall, it might affect their brains," Li Chuxi gave many theories, and though it did not satisfy the other girl, she had no choice than to accept it.
"I will be expecting good news, Xiaomi," Meimei was hopeful as she disconnected the call.
Li Chuxi heaved a sigh as she kept the phone back into the cupboard.
She paced around the room with her fingers on her chin, she was thinking about how to make her parents recall their lost memories.
Once they did, then Meimei could show up. It was very tough for a little girl like her.
But how was she so sure that Li Qiang and Xin Yan were her parents?
When she and Meimei were still babies, they were both twins, they lived in an old house, not alone but with a very handsome man. Until date, Li Chuxi still wondered why the man chose to live in such a house.
As they grew up, they thought he was their father, and they had always referred him to as father.
That was until they clocked five. The man then informed them of the history of their birth. The man was someone close to Li Qiang when they were still at the vacation house.
The man recounted the m entire story to them, and the twins were heartbroken. It was not their parents’ fault.
As young as Li Chuxi was, she could understand that it was a conspiracy. Everything was a well-thought-out plan.
Since she was the older one among the both of them, she volunteered to be sent to her parents to help them regain their memories and their children, leading to today’s situation.
Li Chuxi plopped onto the bed as she thought of various ways. She had always been the smart one, but she could not come up with anything at this moment.
Meanwhile at a small cottage, in a dimly lit room, a little girl sat on the chair with a phone clutched to her chest.
"No progress," she opened her mouth to speak after a very long time.
"How could that be?" The person to whom she had said the statement to frowned as he hit the table rapidly.
"Do you think Xiaomi is playing us? What if my parents had already regained their memories, but Xiaomi did not inform them about me?" It was Meimei speaking.
You could not blame the little girl. It was three weeks, and she did not hear good news, she was bound to feel different emotions and come up with absurd theories.
"Meimei, do not say that," the man cautioned her, and she pouted her lips.
"You know your sister and how she is, do you think she will really do something as such?" The man asked, and the little girl lowered her head while she did some reflection.
"I am sorry," she finally apologized, and the man shook his head.
"Tell that to your sister once you meet with her," the man said to her, and she looked at him with parted lips, wondering what he meant by that.
She suddenly had an idea, and she looked towards him tentatively as she asked, "will I be visiting my parents?"
The man gave an affirmative nod and for the first time in three weeks, the man was able to witness a beautiful and genuine smile on the little girl’s face, and he smiled at her wholeheartedly.
"Get prepared," he said to her, and was about leaving until she pulled him back with her question.
"How will I appear before them? I am nervous, do you think I can do it?" She asked series of questions and the man parted her head.
"Go to sleep, you will find out tomorrow," he said that to her before walking in the direction of his room.
The little girl pursed her lips slightly as there was a bright shine in her eyes. She was excited about the prospect of meeting with her parents and with that thought, she ran into her room.
She thought it was best to have a good night sleep, so she will not doze off while she spoke with her parents.
Due to her excitement, she slept very late.
The next morning, she was woken up by the man. She rolled around in her little bed before jumping out of it after remembering what the day was.
She quickly rushed into the bathroom as she washed up immediately. Likewise, she put on one of the nest dresses she had as she made her way to the living room.
The man looked at her getup, and he burst into laughter.
"What is making you laugh, uncle?" She asked. Ever since they found out he was not their father, they changed the way they addressed him.
"Do you really want to meet your parents in that getup? They will not believe, especially since you will be meeting with your father who has a high IQ," the man laughed and all the energy the little girl had was depleted in mere seconds.
"What do you suggest I wear?" She asked as she felt a bit of foreboding.
"This," the man replied as he brought out a tattered looking dress, shocking the girl as she gawked at it with her lips forming an ’oh!’
