Rebirth: The Heiress Plans Her Revenge-Chapter 253: Return Home
Chapter 253: Chapter 253: Return Home
Song Recommendation: Thick Of It All By Alan Walker
"Is it only an apology you want to tender?" Li Qiang asked, he was sure that Wu Tang had something else to say.
Wu Tang sighed. It was clear that he had to say what was on his mind, or else, neither he nor Li Qiang would feel at peace.
"I wish to be friends with you again, I miss our friendship, I want us to return to the way we were previously, before all the fighting began," Wu Tang blurted out, staring at Li Qiang with misty eyes.
It is said that men do not cry as it strongly suggests that they are weak. But these two grown men, heading the two biggest corporations in China were bawling their eyes currently.
Li Qiang rose from his seat, his eyes wet with tears, which was very rare. The only time Li Qiang could vividly recall crying was when his parents died, after then, he knew he was numb to the action, ’crying.’
"Wu Tang, I missed our friendship, I missed the way we related, I was devastated when I found out you left, it was even more heartbreaking when I discovered that you were responsible for what happened five years ago, but I want you to know that I don’t find fault in you."
Li Qiang squatted, staring straight into Wu Tang’s eyes.
"Let’s not fight anymore, okay?" Li Qiang extended his palms for a handshake.
Wu Tang stared at the extended palms, completely shocked because Li Qiang had agreed easily.
"Are you in or not?" Li Qiang asked with a smile, he knew Wu Tang would accept it.
"Bring it in," Wu Tang pulled Li Qiang up, rose to his feet, and they both shared a hug.
This beautiful moment was ruined by the entrance of Li Beichen.
"Oh my goodness, I hope I am not ruining anything?" Li Beichen asked once he walked in, causing the two men to disentangle.
"I thought you had left, Uncle," Li Qiang rubbed his forehead, frustrated by the presence of his uncle.
Wu Tang’s eyes darted between Li Qiang and Li Beichen, his gaze resting on Li Beichen for a longer time. For some weird reason, he found Li Beichen to be extremely familiar.
But it was peculiar because he was sure he had never met the older man.
He frowned, searching his memory to see if he had actually met him, but it was blank. He had truly never met the man.
His frown continued to deepen, his senses blurring out the entire conversation between Li Qiang and Li Beichen.
"You must be Wu Tang, I have seen numerous posts about you, and I am glad I could meet you in person, it’s not everyday we see someone who can face Li Qiang, I commend you on that," Li Beichen turned to look at Wu Tang who snapped out of his reverie.
"We have made up sir, it was just a little misunderstanding, and since we have been friends previously, we decided that we would remain friends," Wu Tang explained to him.
"Oh my, that is such good news, this is wonderful, remarkable news," Li Beichen laughed.
"Alright, I will leave you both to it, it is good you are willing to shake hands and make up, Li Qiang, I will be heading to the ancestral house, you can find me there," Li Beichen informed him, before waltzing out of the office.
"Is he really your uncle?" Wu Tang asked as he slowly took his seat.
"Sadly, he is," Li Qiang replied, shrugging his shoulders at the same time.
"He seems sketchy to me," Wu Tang continued. He could not shake off the feeling of familiarity.
"I know, I also feel the same way, I am just seeing him after several years, and I have a feeling he has bad intentions," Li Qiang replied, his eyes holding a profound look in his eyes.
"Do you want me to keep an eye on him? I have the resources for that," Wu Tang asked, seeking permission.
He could have done it without asking for Li Qiang’s permission, but that could ruin their friendship which was presently delicate.
"Are you able to do that for me?" Li Qiang asked, and Wu Tang nodded in response.@@
"Then, I will have to thank you in advance," Li Qiang smiled. Having Wu Tang help him would be more effective, he was also aware of the resources Wu Tang was talking about.

"You need to inform your parents about your whereabouts, there are some news about you going missing, and a search team is out looking for you," Lu Wei informed Gu Shishi once he stepped into the condominium.
He had gone to get dresses for Gu Shishi as he did not have suitable women wear.
Gu Shishi collected the bag which he stretched out to her, and she sighed tiredly.
"I have been ignoring my grandparents’ calls, my mom, and Mr. Gu has also been calling me nonstop, honestly, at this point, I am exhausted," Gu Shishi placed her hands on her forehead, rubbing it calmly, as she tried to soothe the pain she felt.
"I know you are confused on what you should do, but I suggest you inform them about your whereabouts, it would make them less worried about you," Lu Wei advised.
"Alright, I will go freshen up, and I will give them a call," Gu Shishi gave in, finding sense in what he said.
"And also," Lu Wei stopped her, prompting her to turn to look at him.
"The news has been brought down, I believe it is the work of Mr. Gu, so you can rest assured that no one will bash you online," Lu Wei informed, and a smile appeared on her lips.
"Thank you," Gu Shishi thanked him with all the sincerity of heart.
"I don’t think I am the one you should thank, you should thank Mr. Gu who had taken this step, and this means you need to inform them about your whereabouts," Lu Wei advised, and Gu Shishi nodded in agreement.
"I’ll listen to you, now, can I freshen up?" Gu Shishi laughed, and only walked into the room when Lu Wei had nodded smilingly.
After Gu Shishi had freshened up, and changed into comfortable house clothes, she settled on the couch, with Lu Wei sitting opposite her. She was ready to make the call.
Gu Shishi heaved a sigh, and Lu Wei gave her an encouraging smile before she finally had the courage to dial her grandmother’s line. ƒгeeweɓn૦vel.com
"Oh my goodness, Shishi, where have you been?" Grandma Gu exclaimed as soon as she picked the call.
"Is that Shishi?" Grandpa Gu who was beside his wife asked, his eyes showing concern.
"Yes, this girl finally called, I was so worried, where are you? Come home, okay? Do not be bothered about the news, you are still my favorite, please return home, this house hasn’t been the same without you," the first statement of Grandma Gu was meant for Grandpa Gu, the remainder was directed to Gu Shishi who was still silent.
"Grandma, please remain calm, you know your health is important, so you do not need to be so stressed about me, I am perfectly fine, I am at Lu Wei’s house currently," Gu Shishi reprimanded Grandma Gu at first, before she informed her of her whereabouts.
"What?" Grandma Gu jumped from the seat, feeling agitated.
"What’s wrong?" Grandpa Gu asked, the worry in his eyes intensifying.
"This little girl, she will not be the death of me, I have no idea why she is with Lu Wei, she should at least think of her reputation," Grandma Gu replied to Grandpa Gu, and at the same time, she berated Gu Shishi.
Gu Shishi rubbed her forehead, feeling exhausted. This was one of the reasons she would rather not inform her grandparents, they were old-fashioned, and were against the idea of females cohabiting with males.
Grandpa Gu’s eyes flashed with an intense chilliness as he gestured for Grandma Gu to hand the phone to him.
"Girl," Grandpa Gu called out smoothly.
Gu Shishi who was seated casually sat up straight at once. Although her grandfather doted on her more than any of his other grandchildren, there was no denying that she still felt scared of him, and this was attributed to him being a soldier in his early life.
"Grandfather," Gu Shishi replied, her palms turning sweaty at once.
"Come home," Grandpa Gu gave a swift order.
"But grandfather," Gu Shishi was about to protest, but she was cut off by her grandfather’s next words.
"I know the lad is sitting right beside you, ask him to bring you back home, I want you to return home before the sun sets," Grandpa Gu instructed, disconnecting the call which allowed no room for Gu Shishi to complain.
"What did they say?" Lu Wei asked as he observed the girl, who had a sour look.
"They want me to return home, can you drop me off at home?" Gu Shishi requested, exhaling at the same time.
